Mastering the masters

So I am not entirely sure we can say we mastered them perfectly, but we did kill the blue and green MnM duo.

I went in terrified about the going upstairs phase, mainly because I remember Ben mocking all dead people last time about how it isn’t hard to do. But I guess a week of gear and some extra practise meant we didn’t even get to the phase, we timed our blood lust just right and managed to kill her very quickly after her transition. We didn’t get thrown up into the air! I would say that is mastering them 🙂 Just pump out the DPS so you can avoid mechanics is my favourite part of raiding.

I have too many boss kill photos dead….I need to pay Nibble and Nelly more money 3/9H

We then spent the rest of the night smashing out Opulence. It is very unforgiving in Heroic mode with damage, if you get hit by something it is generally good night. But there was one attempt where my side did no DPS (just avoided mechanics) for about 5 minutes so the other side could catch up (due to death, not a DPS issue) because we just wanted to get through to the Opulence room and see the actual fight.

I apparently killed Nibblepie with some well placed gold, monks apparently don’t like gold being dropped at their feet. But I swear it wasn’t me because I remember getting it just after his death and using my bound backward spell to get out of everyone’s way. I felt super bad about having killed him. I don’t like killing other people when raiding let alone when I die myself. I shall be hyper vigilant next time.

Opulence – 65%

Our best attempt on him was about 65% and with only managing to get to him 2 times in total. I think that was a fair effort. The adds that spawn move so much faster as well and we simply didn’t have enough time to kill them. I think that is going to be a fun challenge, especially with the golden coin showers (ewwww) and the molten gold.

This fight like all I guess, is you just have to get the hang of each phase and it takes work to get to those phases so you can see them. We need to move faster though. Nelly advised they are going to start working on Heroics on Wednesday know instead of normals so that will at least give better gear, but we have to go back and kill Jaina in Normal mode at some point.

Speaking of, I went and did LFR and completed Jaina. I had the quest to complete her and I figured I was sick at home why not. It wasn’t too bad. We wiped on her once but then smashed it the second time. I didn’t find it that hard to deal with in LFR so I wonder how different it is in normal/heroic. There is a lot going on – no argument here – but I think if the tanks can get their positioning right and the DPS watch their debuffs and get out of the bad (and into the good when they need it) we should be able to smash it. I don’t feel as scared doing her now though.

Once you complete this you get more story and Sylvanas becomes even more twisted. Stop reading this here if you don’t want to know anymore or you haven’t finished this part of the quest.

You are tasked with attending the funeral of King Rastakan and the city now has mourners travelling to the top of the Great Seal.

After offering her “condolences” she decides to raise the corpse on the boat, Daelin Proudmore; to be an undead to use against the alliance in return for their killing of King Rastakan.

Daelin’s memorial stone.

Baine is very unhappy about this – very unhappy – but Sylvanas basically tells him to shut it – she controls death and will do was she pleases. This sounds like the banshee who is still as crazy as she was when she burnt down the World Tree. I don’t like it one bit, it shows an arrogance and rage that a Warchief shouldn’t have had.

Master of Death

I am wondering when this will blow up into the next main story section of getting Sylvanas out of office? However the story basically stops at that point with plans needing to be worked out. The entire thing is very cool, so if nothing else make sure you get Jaina killed so you can hand in the quest and see the reaction Baine has. He must be so close to the end of his tether with her, especially when she says she will not let her allies (the Zandalari) suffer alone. She is one twisted banshee.
