We are coming for you G’huun

You and your pet, Zul.

I missed the guild’s second raid as it was moved to a Saturday night due to lack of healer availability for Friday, but we had plans already which I wouldn’t get out of. So I watched it on the stream (thank god Ben was streaming!!) whilst our friends watched the Collingwood match.  I didn’t get to hear the smooth bedroom voice of our raid leader as I was watching only, not listening. The guild killed the next couple of bosses from our Wednesday night and whilst I was in the stream chat screaming for someone to take pictures – no one did.

They got stuck on Zul, from what I could see.  So when I made it to the next Wednesday night raid (thanks to delayed trains and missing karate again), I was extremely happy.

We smashed it like a birthday cake. Smashed it.

We one shot Taloc again, like a bunch of pros. I think it was a little messier this time as we didn’t set up markers for dumping of the blood therefore people were kind of going everywhere.  It wasn’t as well controlled like our first kill. I know me and a few others got caught behind a range barrier of badly placed blood with no way to get back to the group just before the boss died.

MOTHER went so smoothly that I cannot understand how we struggled so much last week. It was like we had done the boss a million times before. We set up, Brian advised he had changed some talents and gear for better mitigation, Jason set up the groups and all the healers proceeded to have heart palpitations at all their UI’s being completely messed up.  Chris counted the groups perfectly so there was no confusion about who was going through when and we proceeded to just smash her. Poor Ostrik (spelling sorry) died on the first or second flames and then stayed dead the entire fight because we were saving the rezzes. He would have had great fun!  LOL.  It was just amazing. We didn’t get the laser beams (we don’t know why?), and we only had  flames and wind to contend with…makes it sound like a bad curry doesn’t it?

Fetid devourer was the same, just melted through it like it was nothing.  I was excited as this was the point we got to in one raid last week and we had only been about 30 or 40 minutes?  I shall have to check the stream.

We then headed to the suckerface. Vectis, honestly not that hard but it was my first kill so I grabbed this quick screenie before the guild ran away. So technically our second kill.

Zek’voz was next and this was as horrific as I had expected. It isn’t overly difficult per se, just so much going on that you are constantly watching for effects to happen so you can run away.

That got me a nice little achievement and also another quick screenshot before the guild ran away to spend the rest of the night wiping on Zul.

We wiped. We wiped. We wiped and just for good measure, we wiped a little more.

Zul. Zul. Zul.

He was finally defeated on the next Friday raid night. Would we call it a smooth kill? Or even a good kill? You could probably put it into a “shear dumb luck category” and it would be close.

Not to down play the effeort we were putting in though. We were consistently putting him to 40% and just needed a little change to strats.  The best one being not CCing the hexxers and just interrupting/stunning so they came to the centre. From a DPS perspective it was much easier than running around the platform wasting case/DPS.

We spent what was left of Friday night working on Mythrax. When the adds pop with the mind flay we all die. It is a hard fail for us at that specific point, if we could get them under control I have no doubt we would be ok.

Let’s see how the guild goes next week. Grats everyone on the kills!
