If you haven’t found Abby in Drustvar, I would suggest you do. She is creepy as heck. Fair warning though – don’t do it before bed. It isn’t so much that children are always portrayed as evil, it is the creepy little song she sings and the way she says things.
“Our poor little Village is dead.”
“All the people have gone stiff or fled.”
“There is no more noise…”
“…except me and my toys…”
“…just like all the dark birdies said!”
It may not just be the words but combined with the tune, it is a little spooky. She asks you to help her find her toys for a tea party and that seems all ok, until you find a cat and I think (as do many others) the she killed the cat!
As you find various parts of the quest chain she appears as says super creepy things, I give you exhibit A which seems pretty sort of standard and expected in a zone full of witches and covens:
Then she pops out with something like this:
It is just creepy. Then you finally get invited to her tea party:
If I have learnt anything from watching too many supernatural shows like Supernatural, Haven, Charmed etc it is that whenever there is a symbol on the ground and a creepy kid – something bad is going to happen right. RIGHT?!!??!
There must be a trigger to her appearance as she wasn’t there the first time we ran through the area. I would suggest it is linked to the quest chain for opening up the footholds (and likely reputation) so definitely go back and check her out if you haven’t seen her.
I am going to start with the absolute best thing I have seen in game so far, and I am making a concerted effort to find more because they just make me laugh. I love the humour that Blizzard puts into its games.
Likely you have ridden past this one over 100 times already but because you are running past you have missed them. They are in the Great Seal. I adore them.
This is their comments on the absolutely stunning Aztec/Mayan architecture – beasts! If you look around you find these two with a selfie stick.
Just look at them?!!? HAHHA I love it. I should’ve taken a selfie with them as well with my camera!
My next most loved and hated quest is the turtle quests. I am ok with shooting the crabs but screw those birds. The targeting is so difficult.
I just love everyone is referencing this now. LOL. Laurie posted this picture to our guild facebook a couple of days ago and I am sort of shocked and amazed at the same. Seems like a crazy thing to get tattooed 🙂
I mean…seriously insane!! I have always wanted a wow related tattoo so I am not questioning a wow tattoo but I would be leaning more towards a horde/alliance crest personally. Kudos to their love of turtles reaching the water 🙂
I also finally found one of these little beauties!!! I am so proud of myself.
Can you see the gorgeous rainbow? Just look at it!! Stupidly I was standing right underneath it later and didn’t notice until too late as my flight master whistle went off. I will need to go back. But look!! A RAINBOW IN GAME!!!! SQUEEE! Moryrt and I also noticed sand winds in Voldun recently, just a small layer on the desert moving with wind.
Blizzard are killing it with the weather effects if you ask me. Not just weather either. I nearly lost the plot when I saw the new Warlock Summoning portal and cookie dispenser. They are amazing. If you haven’t seen one yet, ask a lock friend to put one down for you. They are stunning. Here is a picture from reddit.
The picture just doesn’t do it justice. It is brilliant!!
And whilst waiting for a run to happen I managed to get this little achievement, just means I spent far too much time playing to hit the 250k score in one game 🙂 I blame Oui for that, completely! Correct me if I am wrong, but did they update the images in the jewelcraft or have they always been those icons, I remember them being different?
Whilst trawling the land I found these little cuties, when you click on the lute next to them the rainbow appears. I admit to spending far too long clicking the lute.
The other thing I am loving is the underwater bars around the world. As a druid it is probably easier for me to investigate the water – but seriously they are all slightly different with funny things happening. This one has a dancing murloc in a top hat and disco jellies. I check out the vendors, have a couple of drinks and then look for the next one in my travels. These are very cute hide away places!
What else have you guys found that gives you a little kick of enjoyment?
I wanted to post about the Bargain questline. So, if you haven’t managed to get through the Zandalari Forever line, I would suggest you don’t read further if you don’t want spoilers, because spoilers. Many many many spoilers.
I feel a little like Usher…am I showing my age with that reference?
Playing through the war of thorns and seeing Sylvanas be, well, evil and without honour is making me feel slightly unhinged myself.
However we aren’t here to talk about my crazy levels, we are here so I can confess. So here we go, I am just going to jump in.
I secretly love the alliance and watching Anduin defend his people and pride (see what i did there? Because he is the lion? Get it!!!) makes me happy on the inside. I adore his lion theme, I miss being part of the ‘good’ side, i miss having all all draenai toon base with their waggly tails, I miss being alliance sometimes.
I do love being horde (and I guess the underdog), I love that we usually have some honour system we stick to and I love being Tauren, but having Sylvanas do the things she is, makes me realise how bad we can be and I miss the alliance being good mostly. I also think they get prettier, nicer things. I dislike how hordies things are generally ugly, like we have no style….grrr.
I admit when I started learning about the world story of WoW way back in like 2007, I wanted to be Jaina. She was an amazing character and a kick arse mage – i wanted to be just like her. Now she is back and I am all a flutter with excitement, except on the wrong side of the war now.
There is something about being part of the collective, no matter which side, but I started this game as alliance and I think I have always had a little soft spot for what they do, how they handle us hordies and the battles they go through. I can’t wait to see how this plays out and I do hope, no matter how awesome I think Sylvanas is, i hope she gets her comeuppance, because what she has done this past 2 weeks is an abomination.
I finally had some time and motivation to jump online and do the continuation of the quest line in Silithus.
Mithraic and my druid headed over to the sword sticking out of Azeroth’s poor heart and I was, once again, greatly impressed with the size of this weapon. It really is a very terrifying visage!
All the corruption and red tendrils of hatred or whatever was spewing out.
It felt good to be part of stopping it with all the other champions of Azeroth. I am not sure how we will survive this. Each of us having to fill our weapons with corruption, seems like a bad idea imho. Are we all going to turn into angry beasts bathing in the blood of the alliance?
I admit to liking the effect it has on my claws – look how powerful I have become. I look invincible.
ROAR!!!! I am a bear after all. My roar should cause corruption to spew forth so I can kill my enemies even faster. I guess technically that is what happens when your artifact power is going crazy and not stopping from increasing in power.
I now have all the power!!
I also completed this on my mage, I had thought I had done the first part of the questing already but hadn’t. So it was nice to complete on her. I might see if hubby wants to do this on the demon hunters as well.
I don’t know what to do with myself now, we stopped the corruption and we just have to wait for BfA to start so we can see what happens and how the story begins. I am in the process of organising my annual leave from work, I am only going to take a week but I am going to make that week work. I would be wrapped if I can get both my druid and my mage levelled in that time. That is my plan anyway, similar to my bucket list of fail, I am not sure how I will go.
I cannot preface this post enough to explain how everything that follows stems from a deep sadness at being misled by Blizzard at a time that should have been amazing.
I do not see the silver lining on this.
We were going to run some mythics for the weekly quest however Michael was eating dinner; instead of harassing him to masticate faster we took the opportunity to jump into Nighthold and get the last of the shards I needed for Balance of Power.
I only needed 4, so we wrangled an elite squad of death and destruction which included Simon, Brian, Fred, Ben, Drew, Michael and myself. The guys were fantastic for coming along and helping me get the last few shards. I cannot thank them enough. Michael didn’t arrive until later, so in the interim I switched to healing. Bad idea. I couldn’t find the spell which put the green circle on the ground, I had to manually select people then the spell, and I was basically just clicking things in the hopes they would light up.
I am not a very good healer. I didn’t even have Brez on my bars…had to do that on the fly when Drew needed a rez before tanking the second add. It was a disaster! Then Michael came online and I was so freaking excited!
After handing in then killing Guldan for his eyeballs, I went off excitedly to hand in my quest but the chain continued. So I delayed that to help Fred in Emerald Nightmare with the rest of the group to obtain the last of his corrupted essence. We tried Ursoc again for the hidden artifact – which Simon got!!! We tried for Michael’s hidden one off the dragons and Ben needed something off the eyeball.
Once that was complete I headed back to my quest chain, flew to Moonhold and received all the power!! I was so excited because this meant I was going to get my purple bear!
We start off with this horrid green bear :p after receiving all the power.
I have improved history by doing the longest quest chain in game. It probably isn’t but my god, it certainly feels like it is.
I ported directly back to my class hall and my tree to switch to purple. This is what greeted me.
It was locked? LOCKED?!?!?!? I have – as per the notes on the tool tip – “Completed a Mythic mode Dungeon using a level 15 keystone” AND I had just completed “Balance of power”. What gives Blizzard – as your tool tip reads – I have done the requirements?
Craig suggested the other day I needed to do the 15 after having finished the quest line. Is that how you read the above? Would you not put the 15 after the quest line completion then to give it a sense of order,. would you perhaps put them in the same sentence and advise it is required to be after.
I was soo annoyed. So annoyed in fact that I almost rage quit. I had been looking forward to completing this and being purple. Instead I was convinced to to a level 15 then and there. So myself, Simon, Craig, Ben and Michael jumped into a Seat of the Triumverate 15 (which was Craig’s). It was horrific. I lost count of the deaths after about 50. I was so annoyed with the bosses and my failings as a tank – which were more to do with it being Skittish affix this week than anything else, but it was still frustrating as hell. I hate all the bosses in this instance due to past experiences so it was lovely to finally kill this piece of garbage. I hate him with a passion add that to my already simmering rage about my butt being green and not purple – I wanted to see him die.
We eventually got all the way to the last boss and Michael and I had to tank him/her/them (?) from 40% all the way to 0%.
It was the longest boss fight I have ever done, but no way in hell was I going to have to start again! I have to admit it was pretty funny. Michael even posted it on youtube to watch if you want to have a laugh. I would speed it up if you can though as it is just long :p
Thanks so much to the guys for being dragged through a horrific level 15! You were – as always – awesome!
So I headed back to my tree to get me some purple butt! This greeted me again! ARE YOU FREAKING KIDDING ME!!!???!
The conclusion can only be made that it has to be a timed 15. Where is heck does it say timed? For more casual players like me – completing a 15 is hard enough without adding it needing to be timed. When I say hard enough – the two level 15’s I have done have taken over an hour and a half with over 40 deaths – I am so far away from the timer that getting to the end is a massive success in of itself. It isn’t like I am finding this easy you know. Had I known it was a timed 15 I would have just never started on this mission to have it purple. I probably wouldn’t have even completed the Balance of Power. The tooltip should reflect the actual requirements. I still “completed” a 15 when we missed timers and I got the achievement – that says it is complete. Why am I not purple!!! Why would you do this to people.
I am so angry. I am writing this post a few days later (to calm down) and it has made me angry again. I don’t even want to contemplate having to try and do a timed 15. I can’t even get a 15 key to do it? Our mythic group is still at level 13’s with sometimes upgrading a key by one. We haven’t managed to do a 14 yet in timed mode. I have until August I guess if I can be bothered. I am just so depressed about the entire thing. Hashtag devastated.
This quest is part of a comment-size guide for “Balance of Power.” questline (the last quest…finally). Quests are pretty much self-explanatory and all it takes is some time and good will to complete them. Completing this questline rewards Artifact Appearance (Appearance 3, Tint 1).
Image of Kalec appears in your Order Hall and gives you the following quest: The Power Within (Meet Archmage Kalec at Azurewing Repose in Azsuna.) Reasons behind appearance of Archmage Kalec in your Class Order Hall are not yet completely understood but most people noticed him few days after they completed their Class Campaign.
From there you take a next quest from Senegos: The Heart of Zin-Azshari (Retrieve the Heart of Zin-Azshari and defeat the Wrath of Azshara in the Eye of Azshara on Mythic difficulty.)
After completing the previous quests you receive a few new quests (exactly 3: two from Senegos and one from Archmage Kalec).
Senegos: A Vainglorious Past (Obtain a Vainglorious Draught from Veridis Fallon.)
– You can purchase Vainglorious Draught from Veridis Fallon in Crumbled Palace [46.9 , 41.4] in Azsuna for 150g (Requirement: Court of Farondis – Honored).
Fallen Power (Recover a Corrupted Essence from Oakheart and defeat the Shade of Xavius in Darkheart Thicket on Mythic difficulty.)
Archmage Kalec: Tempering Darkness (Obtain 30 Blood of Sargeras.) Should not be a problem since by the time you get that quest and if you did not spend any Blood of Sargeras you should have some stacked up simply by completing Dungeons and World Quests.
Archmage Kalec: Lucid Strength (Absorb the power from the Corrupted Essence using the Heart of Zin-Azshari.) Right next to you.
Senegos: The Wisdom of Patience (Await the opening of The Emerald Nightmare, then report back to Senegos in Azsuna.)
Archmage Kalec: In Nightmares (Obtain a Deathglare Iris and the Horn of the Nightmare Lord from The Emerald Nightmare.) NOTE: NOT doable with LFR. It has to be Normal difficulty or higher. In order to complete this quest you need to kill 2 bosses: Il’gynoth and Xavius and loot mentioned quest items.
Senegos: Essence of Power (Collect 30 Corrupted Essence from The Emerald Nightmare.) This quest gave me a weird WoD and Khadgar flashback. NOT doable with LFR. Only Normal or higher difficulty. Essences do not have a 100% drop rate and bosses can drop 1-2 Corrupted Essences at the time.
Senegos: Essential Consumption (Absorb the combined power of the Corrupted Essences using the Heart of Zin-Azshari.) Right next to you.
Ashildir: A Feast Fit for Odyn (Acquire flank meat from Thunderhoof in Stormheim, Spinesever’s spine in Highmountain, and a steak from Leytusk in Azsuna.)
Presentation is Key (Retrieve 4 Adamantium Casing Scraps and defeat Dargrul the Underking in Neltharion’s Lair on Mythic difficulty.)
Ashildir: Odyn’s Blessing (Obtain Odyn’s blessing in the Halls of Valor on Heroic or Mythic difficulty.)
– Use Grand Feast of Valhallas when you enter the dungeon – at the start. You can enter the dungeon alone, put the feast down, get out and then get a group to defeat Odyn and get his blessing. After you defeat him wait for him to finish his speech (RP) and then you can collect his blessing on the loot chest.
Archmage Kalec: Planning the Assault (Await the opening of the Nighthold, then meet Archmage Kalec in Shal’Aran.)
Archmage Kalec: Into the Nighthold (Collect 20 Nightshards from the Nighthold on Normal difficulty or higher.)
– Try and complete this quest without killing Gul’dan because if you kill him before acquiring The Nighthold: Darkness Calls quest in Part 20 he won’t drop quest item for you this week and you’ll need to wait for a next reset to complete The Nighthold: Darkness Calls quest in Part 20.
Thalrenus Rivertree: The Nighthold: Delusions of Grandeur (Collect the core of Trilliax and Grand Magistrix Elisande’s Millennia Tome in the Nighthold on Normal difficulty or higher.)
Archmage Kalec: Balance of Power (Absorb the combined power of the Nightshards and the Eye of Gul’dan using the Heart of Zin-Azshari at the Lunar Crucible.)
This is the entire quest chain I have to complete to get my glowly bear appearance Balance of Power. I am up to ….part 9. OF TWENTY ONE PARTS!! Part 9. Which on its own is tolerable. Unless, like me, you hated Suramar so much you avoided it so thoroughly that you don’t even have your mask. I am now stuck on part 9 completing the stupid questline to get Revered with the Nightfallen. I am hating every minute of it. I was annoyed that I needed to even do the first part on my pally to get her class mount to buy the stupid gem.
I cannot express my hatred for this place. If any other achievements on my toons need this place they can stay incomplete unless they are super compelling…ie…mounts/pets/titles.
My hatred refers to the questing. The need for ancient mana farming, the need to always be on the lookout for being busted out of your disguise and the constant back and forth to Meredil after 2 quests. The city itself is gorgeous and the artwork is magical – no complaints whatsoever about the look and feel.
I do adore the change to the druid forms when under the mask. Cat form is my favourite!
The owl is pretty nice as well.
I just completed the Leyline Bling achievement last night which is barely through the zone quests and shows me at about 5000/12000.
I am running around in feral doing the quests just because it is faster to kill things (though my bear isn’t that bad!). I am going to have to pick Lana’s brain soon about a easy/fast “rotation” instead of just smooshing buttons when they light up and hoping for things to die. I am not wanting top DPS here, just gimme 5 buttons I can smoosh and rip people’s faces off.
So…my balance of power is all to get this appearance. The pain and hatred is all to have this purple glowly bear butt! If i lose it after legion I swear to all the aspects of the dragons I will rage like Ursoc.
I have to complete Balance of Power AND a level 15 mythic – which my group wants anyway. To do the level 15 mythic we need our DPS to have better gear (Ben/Drew switched toons on us for and haven’t managed to spend time getting the gear. Oui changed as well but he came to a normal run and went up like 40 ilevels or something stupid). I think Tank wise I am ok and Michael is fantastic for healing. I think we can do a 15, we just need to focus on gear and making sure we have maximum DPS output to do it. I want to get it done before the xpac ends – even more so now.
So I continue with the quest line which requires 8 mythic dungeons throughout and some raids in Normal mode. <tired sigh> I am never going to finish this. All help is appreciated!
For the longest time since returning to WoW and collecting the pillars of creation I had wondered how to get the last one. The elusive Eye of Amun’thul. I desperately wanted to close off the story and having so many quests in my log I honestly could not work which lead where, so whilst down with a headcold I decided to try and close off the raid quests in my log and run some LFR’s.
I got through so many raids and received exactly zero gear for my mage. Not one item. Bah humbug.
Anyway I discovered after killing Guldan, Khadgar makes you carry the thing back to Dalaran with him! How easy is that? Seriously. It was one boss fight away from me.
I was so happy to have finally completed that story line! It was bugging me. Of course after he places the eyes in the Dalaran dungeon, you head back to Suramar and have chat to Occuleth – because nothing every really ends when you think it does in WoW. I wish I had completed that story before doing the allied races as it perhaps would have made a little more sense.
It flies and has gorgeous purple wings and cute little hanging feet. Adorable. Honestly the entire thing took me maybe 10 minutes from start to finish outside of the Gul’dan killing part, really could have done that much sooner if I had any clue.
After completing that I was also finally, FINALLY, able to complete something that has been irritating me for a while due to the RNG nature of WOW. Yup Defender of the Broken Isles!
It has been one of those things that every single time I see an assault it is one of the others. This achievement has been sitting like this for a long time. I am so glad I logged in this morning with a foggy head to see if it was up.
After a short scenario in which I got completely lost and separated from my party because I stupidly didn’t see the stairs to the tower on the left, I finally got this one done. I was happy to see Cenarious grant me his antler, I am sure he can regen one pretty easily. My only really beef is that it doesn’t grant us a title. Blizzard seems reticent to hand out titles anymore but I loved them, it gave my character just a little something different and we should be commemorated for saving the Broken Isles from the legion.
Both these achievements have been in the back of my mind and now they are done, I feel so much happier. Now if i could just get through the quests for my professions (although I have a feeling they actually never end) because they take up so much room in my quest log. Both Alchemy and Tailoring give me 3 – 4 quests at a time and they involve a mix of heroic/mythic stuff. It is just messy. The quest log should 2 things – a number so you can tell how many quests you actually have – I am sure it used to (?) and it should let you sort by dungeon/raid quests so you can see how many you have in say MoS without having to click through each quest.
Either pretty happy with those two massive plot lines completed. YAY! <happy dance>
The reason for the delay was simple. Neither of us had the reputation to start the quest chains for the allied races, so we waited until we had that completed.
I know we didn’t have to, but there is nothing worse than buying something you can’t make use of. We cannot decide what characters to boost, Drew is thinking of a mage as he has never been able to level one, and I am completely clueless. I haven’t got a high level rogue, monk or DK. The rest of my toons I have at 90ish. Seems wasteful to boost a level 90 toon when I could boost a level 1…but…I simply don’t want any of those classes at max and that is where I a torn. I am leaning towards my hunter who is 90 and means I could skip Drainor completely or my Shammy who is also stuck at Drainor level.
Anyway, we left them for the moment, but the little 110 circle is calling to me 😀
We logged back in to a summons by the Warchief (FOR THE HORDE!) and past this point is spoilers for the allied races steps. If you do not wish to know, skip over the rest of this post.
