#Blaugust2019 – Whispers of War Podcast

Guess who is getting interviewed on Whispers of War? Me 🙂 How exciting?!!?

The above tweet went out recently and I saw it in my feed from a retweet and I thought, what the heck; I am a lady who plays WoW and loves talking about it as well – I have 30-60 mins spare! Just had a blog for a few years rambling about the second love of my life, can’t possibly love talking about this game at all.

She had a lot of people respond to the tweet – which brings me joy to know there are so many women out there playing and wanting to talk about the game! I am being interviewed at 5.30am/6am on the 3rd August and I have no idea how long it will be before my interview is available for download but I thought I would give you, my lovely readers, a heads up it is happening. Maybe it will be awful and will never see the light of day, who knows!

I do have to think of a topic outside of the interview we could talk about, but there isn’t one main thing I can land on. I am wracking my brain. Do I talk about casual raiding, or the Azeroth cookbook and how i want to make more recipes up or how I wish I had more time to get stuff done because there is too much in the game now to actually complete and I am a filthy casual, or the friendships I have made!!??! GAHHH!!!

I am not much of a podcast (or audiobooks) listener simply because I don’t really commute anywhere for long enough and I find I have an issue with my brain; it must hear the constant speech and tone as a signal to start meditating and I zone out and fall asleep. I really have to work hard to stay awake; it is a really frustrating issue if I am perfectly honest, but I do appreciate people who can listen to them without issue. Having said the above, I am going to make a concerted effort to listen to a few of her interviews before mine! Wish me luck!

I am also super excited about it because this is only the second podcast I have ever been interviewed for in relation to WoW. <squee>

Changes

I saw this post today on the changes that will be live heading into the pre-expansion excitement phase.

I am very grateful my guild has dragged me through SoO to get the mount before it disappears – this makes me happy!  This is one of the only mounts I have received at level.  Of course this means I have to get a move on with my silver challenge modes…I must ask Navimie if we can set up a date and time to do the rest, as that way I can be there for it and know it will happen – it is all about the pre-planning!!

Siege of Orgrimmar Changes in Patch 6

I am mainly excited about the stat squish and the removal of hit  – I can’t wait to see how that plays out during the time we are waiting for Warlords to drop and of course the changes to LFR for it will mean we can have a look at how it actually effects out dps and boss kill times.

Of course I would have loved to have done some heroics this time round, however in all honesty, I am still hugely thankful I even got to raid at all this time and complete the instance at the right stage.  Frostwolves are currently doing some more heroic bosses now and they got Iron Juggs down the other night and almost had the Dark Shamans down (15 – 5% on attempts) – so even if I never see a heroic fight – I am so happy our guild is getting back in there and perhaps they can kill the mighty Garrosh on heroic before Warlords drops!!

I would have liked to have seen the older content as well – having only done it in LFR, it would be nice to steamroll through with group (heroic maybe?) and get the achievements 🙂  One day maybe.

I also saw a post on wowinsider about the drop in subscriptions again to 7.6 million.

wow drop in subs

Honestly another 200k drop is seriously not something I am worried about, especially given they still have 7.6 million.  You have to remember this game is old.  Really really old.  There is really not much you can with it to keep making it fresh and new for people – but I think given they have spent 10 years at the top end of the MMORPG lists, they have to be doing something right.

For one month of subscriptions they bring in $1, 139, 240, 000.  I don’t even understand that figure. I don’t think they are in any way, shape or form, close to having any issues regarding the ongoing nature of this game.  Which I am completely grateful for!

Scenarios and awesome things

Tonight, I was determined to do the new scenario, and I loved it!!!

I had heard mixed reports, and as usual I had no complaints 🙂 I can’t wait to see more of them as thy will be quite enjoyable o do when you just want iTunes with a couple of mates though some quick things.

I liked that I could blow stuff away and not worry about aggro or threat or healing etc. Obviously having a healer does make a difference if you are grabbing bundles and bundles of pats, but if exercising caution, you could survive quite easily without.

Anyway when I came out of my scenario, I landed on top of someone. Just another person until the name registered in my brain and I actually squealed. Hubby thought I was mental. I then proceeded to jump like a maniac because Akabeko was standing right in front of me!

Akabeko! THE AKABEKO!!

After a moment of complete speechlessness, we had a quick chat and swapped battletags. Of course, I was too chicken to actually talk to her after that, but small steps ok? I also have to thank another special Druid for helping that connection 🙂

I did the scenario on a couple of toons, did some healing on my pally in PVP and then decided to call it a night!

But, immense night tonight!

Beavertown

Yeah, busy like beavers…you thought I was going to the gutter again didn’t you :p naught naughty readers!!!

I have barely been online this past week due to things..just random things, but things nonetheless.

Our guild got to level 10, I missed it sadly, but I was there for our level 11 ding!  YAY!

I also discovered, stupidly slow again, that there is no cap on the dailies anymore. I knew it was happening but didn’t think to check as I thought it was a MoP thing.  So I spent one day going nuts with the dailies and then haven’t done them since. I must get another couple of days done, on a couple of different toons, I want to have more money saved up for MoP.

My shammy managed to beg a couple of runs with the guild and now has enough gear to get into the twilight heroics, however, I am a little meh about playing her as enhancement…I shall see how it goes though, I am missing totems, it was what I played the class for. Apparently Elemental is the way to go!

I am certain my levelling experience through MoP will be my mage, druid, paladin, warrior.  The last two being interchangable depending on time factors etc.  In previous expacs I went nuts with my mage doing everything possible before worrying about the next, however there is no demand for that this time so I will just get them to 90 and spend time alternating on them.  Aside from raiding requirements on my mage of course 🙂

I will probably level a monk with the frosties so I have a healer/tanking toon over there, rather than just a tank.

I am going away this weekend as well, so will be MIA a little bit, hopefully will get online tonight for a run of some kind, and a scenario or two 🙂  I can’t wait to see it!!!

This is the last week in cataclysm, and I am sad and happy and excited and nervous and so many emotions.  As alway,s I get emotional when it comes to this game. I love it.  I love the world and I love the story.  I am amazed that people have created this just for my pleasure 🙂  I could think of nothing better than spending my days playing this game and just chilling out with my pets and dragons and oomkins 🙂

I can honestly say, hand on heart, that I have never had a problem with the changes or things that Blizzard do to this game.  So far, each time has been better with awesome changes and more fun.  I can’t wait for Pandaria and I am just excited to be blogging through another xpac!!

And so it starts

I spent last night’s shut down, updating our guild forums with strats and info for the MoP raids coming up 🙂

Yes, I am slightly obsessed about it all.  I really want the guild to succeed and push content.  I doubt we are a server first kind of guild, given I don’t know what kind of time levelling is going to take, but I would hope we can kick some butt early.

The bosses I have been putting up there don’t seem all that difficult and I honestly believe a solid group can get through them easily enough. Now if we could just find a tank and some DPS!

I was having fun watching videos and reading notes and then coming up with a strat from it all. I have missed starting new content 🙂

I am so excited that MoP is 2 weeks away – I must find out about the midnight launch as I need to finish paying for my copy etc, I also have to organise to have the Tuesday off since there is no way I am going to work that day! Oh I am so excited!!

Mists of Panderia – talents

Let me start this post by stating right here and now…I dislike Blizzard’s idea of making it impossible to choose what talents I want!

They have added some absolute crackers to the trees and I am drooling with anticipation….
