#Blaugust2019 – Creator appreciation – Artists

The writing ideas for this week are about appreciating people who create content. Things I like watching, buying, seeing and being involved in. I thought it might be cool for me to break down into categories but who knows. I may be out of steam by the end of a few posts.

Today I am going to link to the artists I adore for your enjoyment.

Sam Flegal

This was the piece I saw of his first and it just captured me entirely. I bought a print of this one and framed. I adore this painting.

I adored this so much I commissioned him for a proper painting. All the way from the USA. Cost me a packet but I love it!

Danny Beck

He used to work for Blizzard on Warcraft and I somehow found him via someone. I loved his really cute “”monsters and hamsters” theme. Reallly gorgeous. He was apparently bringing out a book but I am not sure what stage that is at. I should follow that up soon.

Wendy Ortiz

I found her randomly on instagram I think one day. I love her work. It is mystical, earthy and a little morbid. I love it.

Glenn Arthur

This guy draws hummingbirds in all his pieces and I would probably own about 4-5 pieces if I didn’t have hubby rolling his eyes at my art purchases.

I have this print of his.

Peter Mohrbacher

I adore the angel series. Yet another artist I would buy prints off if I could. It makes me sad I don’t live in the USA where I could visit these guys at their conventions and buy pieces. His work is absolutely stunning. One day I will own one or two of his work.

Well that is a short list of some of the artists I adore and love and follow. Who do you guys like and watch? What art pieces do you own?

#Blaugust2019 – Times they are a changing

So when this post goes live, our friends Ben and Oui, may have started their journey to move from Sydney to Melbourne.

They were planning on leaving “early” to start their drive but I have no idea if they will actually manage it.

We met them at PAX 2014 for the first time through Michael and Sian and we have developed a great friendship. We have spent a lot of time with them since (both IRL and in Azeroth!) and every year at PAX we try and convince them to move to Melb.

I never actually thought it would happen, but omg it is! They are going to live with us to get out of the rental trap and save for their own home. Melb still has something amounting to a reasonable housing market when compared to Sydney.

I am excited for them and I hope they have an easy drive down, not sure if their stuff will arrive before them or not. It is such a massive change for them and their lives and hopefully will only be positive for their future.

#Blaugust2019 – First ever blog post.

This was a post idea on the discord channel and I thought it would be a good one to investigate. I went all the way back to my actual first post ever. 5th Feb 2003.

I remember the story of my blogging so well. I was working at MLC in North Sydney and my friend Minxi and I were at lunch in the Greenwood food court. We were sitting down talking about life and she mentioned she was “blogging” on this site called Livejournal. I said what is blogging? Like a virtual diary which people can read and you can have friends and join communities. It blew my mind!! We spent ages talking about it at length and I jumped on the bandwagon pretty soon afterwards.

When people would start commenting and offering support and advice and reflection on their own issues I knew I had found something I absolutely adored. It looks like I stopped writing there consistently in about 2010.

My first ever WoW blog post was June 13 2009.

It was on my original wow blog called “Arcane Ramblings” which no longer exists publicly, but I did move all my old posts to this blog so they would show a collective history. I am missing a few and I was working on importing them but I got sidetracked and never finished.

Reading over my early blog posts (both personal and WoW) I don’t think anything much has changed. I still make a metric tonne of typing mistakes, I still have bad punctuation and grammar and I still waffle on incessantly about inane things. I do feel a little nostalgic reading back, but I guess that was why I started writing. So I could remember the feelings, the good and bad times, the silly things happening in my life as well as the major ones. I really enjoy the interaction with other people.

So where did you guys all stat, did you have a livejournal? What was your first ever blog post?

#Blaugust2019 – Whispers of War Podcast

Guess who is getting interviewed on Whispers of War? Me 🙂 How exciting?!!?

The above tweet went out recently and I saw it in my feed from a retweet and I thought, what the heck; I am a lady who plays WoW and loves talking about it as well – I have 30-60 mins spare! Just had a blog for a few years rambling about the second love of my life, can’t possibly love talking about this game at all.

She had a lot of people respond to the tweet – which brings me joy to know there are so many women out there playing and wanting to talk about the game! I am being interviewed at 5.30am/6am on the 3rd August and I have no idea how long it will be before my interview is available for download but I thought I would give you, my lovely readers, a heads up it is happening. Maybe it will be awful and will never see the light of day, who knows!

I do have to think of a topic outside of the interview we could talk about, but there isn’t one main thing I can land on. I am wracking my brain. Do I talk about casual raiding, or the Azeroth cookbook and how i want to make more recipes up or how I wish I had more time to get stuff done because there is too much in the game now to actually complete and I am a filthy casual, or the friendships I have made!!??! GAHHH!!!

I am not much of a podcast (or audiobooks) listener simply because I don’t really commute anywhere for long enough and I find I have an issue with my brain; it must hear the constant speech and tone as a signal to start meditating and I zone out and fall asleep. I really have to work hard to stay awake; it is a really frustrating issue if I am perfectly honest, but I do appreciate people who can listen to them without issue. Having said the above, I am going to make a concerted effort to listen to a few of her interviews before mine! Wish me luck!

I am also super excited about it because this is only the second podcast I have ever been interviewed for in relation to WoW. <squee>

#Blaugust2019

I have vague recollections of seeing this a few years ago and thinking I would never be able to do it, but I am going to throw my hat in the ring this year. I am pretty lucky I happened to notice this though as it is in the middle of prep week now.

Basically bloggers write a post every day in August. Unusual for me as I tend to only post every second day on this blog, I am not sure how I will find content for every single day! But that will hopefully work itself out.

To find out more information about what I am rabbiting on about you can check this blog post out Tales of Aggronaut -Blaugust 2019.

This is the schedule of the event, not having ever done this before I assume this is sort of the area of topics per week? I am going to have to write some ideas down before I get there…lol

This means my raiding posts and other stuff might have to be mixed in with extras, not sure if I will just double post on those days or somehow make the raiding topic fit with whatever the week’s topics are. But we shall see. Please don’t hate me if you get bombarded with posts in August. We will be back to regular two times a week after that 🙂

Wish me luck for coming up with a post every day people, this is going to be a challenge!

Featured images

If you have been reading my blog for a while you will have noticed I try to use the same featured images to keep a consistent theme running. I hope this helps people identify what the post is about before they read it because some people aren’t interested in some topics and I do write about a lot in the game. I am a junky after all.

Here are some of the ones I haven’t used in a while:

Perhaps the most common one I use is my raiding one and it is because of this, I feel it needs an upgrade to something a little more recent. So with that in mind, I want to know who your favourite bosses are, either by story or encounter; let me know! I am definitely going to keep Onyxia, but I am trying to think of all the bosses over the years and there are simply too many to choose from!

Where have all the bloggers gone?

So a memory came up in my facebook feed today which made me so happy but also kind of sad.

I am not the only person to notice that the blogosphere seems to have reduced in size somewhat in the last couple of years. It is something I have discussed a few times with people on here and twitter.

Have they stopped playing WoW therefore have not said good bye to their following of people, are they still playing but sick of writing the same/similar stuff or have they moved to a different platform like blogging or streaming? Did they stop because their readers stopped, do many people still read or have we gone into podcasts and audio options only?

With the release of BfA there has been a lot of negativity surrounding the game and I know it has affected people wanting to even write about anything in a positive light. There are only so many negative posts you want on your blog after all.

We all need time to maintain a blog as well and I do find it difficult if I don’t get as much time to play as I would like; I don’t always get a post up every two days anymore but I am trying to remain consistent for my readers.

So what was the memory? It was the time I was on Twisted Nether talking about WoW and my blog. 5 years ago!!! 5!!! The first and only time I was asked to be on a podcast or anything to do with WoW and I loved every second of it 🙂

So what are you reading/listening to? What blogs are you still reading; send the names/sites so I can also check them out!

How do you actually play?

Honest question incoming. [shame] I am a clicker and a sometimes keyboard turner.

In an effort to break up all the raiding posts I thought I would see input from the collective.

A long time ago – somewhere in the middle of my WoW history I was not a clicker. i spent hours on a test dummy running side to side, back and forth and casting spells to be at the top of my DPS. (I was never good enough imho and part of why I stopped playing my mage for tanking; I was better at that).

Now, I just can’t seem to get back into not clicking. I start off with good intentions and use my buttons and mice buttons then at some point I get flustered with boss mechanics and fall back to the clicking.

I laughed out loud in the cafe looking at this picture

It was a point of discussion recently with the usual things like have spell types set to the same across all specs and characters, have important CD’s on mice etc.

My interest is more towards how you manage to move your toon out of things at the same time as maintaining a rotation. From initial discussions I have small fingers because some of my friends are saying they can reach the number keys whilst resting on awsd…I have to physically lift my hand to reach them. Did my hands shrink? Did keyboards just get bigger? Are my fingers like little sausages and not as a joke (as my husband calls them!!?)?

Bad shot – but this is my fingers when resting on AWSD and the absolute stretch I have for reaching the number keys. Sorry for the nail polish.

Everyone of my friends had a different way of moving their character and I am actually impressed with the variants. I use my mouse to move the camera and I use WQE to move forward and strafe. I barely use SDA unless I am turning to look at something specific – which I think I use at the same time as my mouse?

My biggest struggle after a few weeks of buttons and not clicking is managing to target mobs at the same time as DPS and move. OMG this has kicked up the difficulty level – especially with the new raid.

So…how do you guys move your character around and target mobs? Whilst not being clicker?

Transmogrification Classic is at the midway point!!!

Intpipomo 2018

Intpipomo is one of those things I never seem to know how to get in on and it frustrates me as I only ever know about it after the fact.  Not this year my wonderful readers!!  No, this year I am only  few days behind and I have even registered thanks to seeing this post on twitter which lead me to Gamer Girl Confessions who is running it this year.

I have always appreciated the writing event and whilst it isn’t really my thing, taking 50 pictures over a month is certainly something I can handle.

So what are the rules:

  • Take the icon (original size 500×500) and use it on your site! (If you want, it’s not required!)
  • Link back to the original post so folks know where to go and what to do.
  • Aim to post fifty (50) images of your own creation/taking throughout the month of November.
    • There is no strict posting schedule or theme to adhere to, but feel free to bounce ideas off of fellow participants!
    • Feel free to post these images as a once-a-week batch, or throughout the week in small doses.
  • Use the #IntPiPoMo hastag when you share your blog posts via social media.

That is it. Post 50 pictures that I have taken and they can be of anything. I am adding an extra challenge condition of them being RL photographs to help me get back into my photography. I have needed a boost of motiviation and this will be it.

Let me know if you are doing it as well!!! I am so freaking excited that I remembered this year, I am off to go and my camera and find something to photograph.

The Transmogrification classic is now open!!!

The classic demo is now live and so is the competition!

You can send me all your entries in one hit or in groups if you like. Whatever is easiest for you 😉

Send the files to my gmail account of onyxiia. Please name them something similar to Dragonray_Cataclysm_Mage.

Competition ends Saturday 17th November – get sharing/commenting and most importantly transmogging!!

Basic Rules

  • No more than 1 tier piece in each transmog outfit allowed. Just 1 of either head/chest/shoulder.
  • You must be able to wear the item, so if you are doing a mage tier, you can’t have a shield.

Shared topic 42: What is your favourite role and why?

This week’s topic from Z and Cinder is a nice one:

Do you love being the shield that protects your group, or the damage dealer that melts the mobs before you or the healer at the back shaking your head at the people standing in fire and giving you something to do?

We’d also love to hear from you if you play a different MMO or one that’s not built on the WoW trio model.

I find it hard to choose between tanking and DPS.  I adore playing caster DPS and doing damage with spells. I like being able to burn, freeze, lightening and thunder my way through mobs.  I love collecting massive amounts of mobs and then AOEing them down. I feel powerful and awesome.  Any type of RP game I play I fall back onto playing a range caster – mage/wizard/sorcerer etc. Anything which allows me to just kill things. I like big spells with big numbers.

I temper that with my complete love of tanking. Mainly Guardian Druid form because I am bright purple and brilliant and who doesn’t love a bright purple bear saving them from destruction?  I tanked briefly through another raid period..maybe Ulduar? and I liked it then as well but the stress levels are way higher than DPS. If you miss a cooldown it could be the end of the raid or group but that is the limit of the stress. I never really struggled to get and maintain aggro, I always seemed to manage to pick up mobs easily enough, however my issue has always been learning to control my urges when tanking different things.  Tanking Mythics+ is different to raiding and I kept going into raiding and burning my cooldowns as though I was in Mythics+.  It caused issues when I needed a CD and I didn’t have one – I got better once I got my brain on board, but that was always highly stressful for me.

I would still be tanking except I cannot raid Wednesday and it would be unfair to the guild to try and keep that spot so I went boomy and raid Fridays only. One night of raiding kills me given it is mostly just a wipe night for me. I am not really getting the joy and satisfaction from it.

Screw Healing. You are all crazy. No way. Nope.Z

Transmog Competition – Update!

Since my previous post about running a transmog competition was so well received  I have decided to actually think about it a little more and I am currently in the process of organising all the behind the scenes details!  It is going to go live very soon 🙂 (Maybe even this weekend!)

I am currently organising/looking for the following:

Judges – I have myself and Drew and the moment. (Yes, I managed to rope him into it!!) But if anyone else would like to help judge instead of enter the competition I would love it!!  I would ideally like 1 more person so we have an odd number.

Prize Donations – I am going to be buying the winner a pet or mount from the store but would love other prizes to be able to give the runner ups.  So if you feel so inclined hit me up with details of what you are willing to give away!

Logo/Name – I have a name for the competition and I will be begging Drew to do the logo for me this weekend. If we get that done I will announcing it!

Shares/likes/comments – Spread the word far and wide 🙂

I will post more details either this weekend or early next week, so please stay tuned and start getting your Transmog add-ons updated :p

Backdating

I have decided to start trying to locate posts from prior to this current iteration of my blog.  I have a huge chunk missing when I changed to self hosting and didn’t keep any form of back up. (I was certain I would never be back).

So I am going to import a bunch of old posts from my wordpress hosted site, which stems from 2014 to a spattering of 2009. This shouldn’t cause too many issues as wordpress to wordpress has a pretty good import function. I am going to test it out now, so buy the time this post is live you should be able to see historical posts….<crosses fingers super tight>.

I am not sure how well this entire idea that will go in all honesty. I think it could get super messy real fast and make it almost impossible to deal with. Broken links, missing pictures, horrid typing…oh it will all be there.  I will have to try and fix it over time.  I dread even looking at categories/tags on posts <shudder>.  I was such a messy blogger back then.

Once that is done I will start trolling web archive pages to find posts since then and add them in where I can. I will also be adding in some pages that have disappeared over time for competitions I have entered. I

This is going to be one hell of a long journey so if you see anything hincky or messed up – let me know. I would love to fix it as quickly as possible.

Send me some luck people!

Why are we so behind?

After coming back from Malaysia and having played with streaming I was so keen to get home and do it as well.  Until I came back and actually tried. More on that later.

I discovered an entire world of crap upon my return.  The first being I had forgotten how often my pc disconnected from the WoW servers.  After moving my pc around the entire house and doing isolation testing we came to the conclusion our network cards are crap. But also, we really prefer a wired connection for gaming.

So we tried power-line adaptors on the suggestion of friends. and they worked initially but whoever designed them was a twat.  They are too big to have in a normal double adaptor wall plate and be able to use the second power point and you can’t plug them into a powerboard.  So…in our house we have 1 power plate in each room (yes shitty design we know).  We could plug the adaptor in and then nothing else. Just stupid.

At $130 (260) per set of adaptors and me needing one as well, we decided we may as well just spend the money and get someone in to add points (ethernet or telephone) upstairs.

My kitchen being dismantled by the cabling guy.

Drew trying to help the cable man find the point upstairs which he can break though and feed cable, and finally our finished port upstairs with our modem now plugged in and computers all wired up.

In amongst all this discussion about ports and connections I discovered that ADSL technology is what causes the issue for streaming.  It physically can’t get more than 1Mbps upload.  What this means is I can stream at like…480 with particular settings and you can see most of what is happening but it will never be like it was in Malaysia.

I was devastated. Thus began the speed tests in the house. This is our ADSL 2 service.

I can’t even begin to explain how crap that is.  This following test however is the 4G connection we have.

Both tests were done in my lounge room, on my iphone about 2 minutes apart and in the evening peak time. So I am wondering how well I can play and stream on the 4G connection instead of using my ADSL.  I preface that by saying I have 160GB shared data on my mobile plan which I can utilise and I am not sure I would use that much by streaming a couple of raids or mythic runs a week?  I have to test it out. But I just haven’t set it up and bothered fiddling with getting it happening.

Why don’t we have NBN you say?  Because I won’t have it until possibly 2020.  Unless we sell the house and just move to a place that has it already installed and working…<hrmmmm> there is an idea.  Do I want to go through the stress again just so I can stream?  We are in the one tiny area not covered by our neighbourhood. I kid you not.

Does anyone stream on 4G? Does it cause issues? Would you be willing to give it a shot with the speeds above?

Shared: Topic 34: What is your favourite pop culture reference or easter egg in the game?

It always brings a smile to my face when I stumble across a NPC name or flavour text that points to a show or person I recognise from the real world. It also makes me wonder how many more there are that I’ve missed.

For our latest challenge topic, we want to know:

What is your favourite pop culture reference or easter egg in the game?

Ok, so I may have cheated a little with this one.  When you have been playing the game for so long there are always things you forget about.  Whilst trolling through sites trying to remember what easter eggs are even in the game, I found this page which lists a fair amazing amount of them. It is actually pretty funny just reading through them, sort of like remembering old friends.

However the ones I really remember enjoying at the time were all the Firefly related ones, so much so I levelled my shammy about 5 level farming for the pet.

  • In Zangarmarsh, the engineering Grandmaster K. Lee Smallfry <Grand Master Engineer> is a reference to the character Kaylee Frye, the engineer on the show. Her dialog includes the word “shiny”, a common adjective for “good” used on the show.

  • The non-combat pet [Captured Firefly] has the flavor text “Still flying…” which is a line from the show.

  • During Brewfest, one of the beers you can purchase is Mudder’s Milk, which is from the episode ‘Jaynestown’.

  • The reagent vendors in Ogri’la and the Lower City are named Mingo and Fanty, after the twins who engage Mal to perform the robbery from Serenity’s opening sequence. While these characters in turn are references to thugs from the 1955 The Big Combo, the NPCs more likely reference the former.

  • [Strange Engine Part] and [Broken Engine Part], which are fished randomly from pools of Steam Pump Flotsam in Zangarmarsh, bear the description: “It reads ‘Capissen 38’ on the bottom.” This is a reference to Kaylee Frye’s line in the film “Serenity:” “Don’t ride in anything with a Capissen 38 engine, they fall right out of the sky.” [Strange Engine Part] starts an Alliance quest that you turn in to K. Lee Smallfry.

  • In the Sun’s Reach Harbor, the Innkeeper Caregiver Inaara <Innkeeper> is a reference to the Companion character Inara Serra, a character portrayed by the Brazilian-American actress Morena Baccarin. Her face and outfit looks also very similar to the series’ character.

I didn’t know about this one from the list:

Robin Hobb

  • The name of the tauren at the Nesingwary Safari in NagrandShado ‘Fitz’ Farstrider, appears to be a reference to the character FitzChivalry “Fitz” Farseer, and possibly also to his mentor Chade, from Hobb’s Farseer Trilogy. In addition to the similar names, Shado wears a wolfshead helm, and FitzChivalry was bonded with a wolf. (As possibly more of a stretch, FitzChivalry was a Wit or “beast magic” user, and seen by some as half-man/half-beast, a possibly fit description for a tauren.)

And as Robin Hobb is one of my favourite authors I am going to have to check it out again because I never made the connection. I might also have to pull the books back out now that I think about it.

On a more personal level the following one is really interesting:

H.P. Lovecraft

  • The Black Morass, an instance in the Caverns of Time set in what is to become the Blasted Lands, may refer to Lovecraft’s “The Call of Cthulhu”, in which Inspector Legrasse, investigating reports of strange rituals in New Orleans swamplands, is described to have “plowed on through the black morass”. The design of the zone itself closely adheres to Lovecraft’s description of the New Orleans marshes.

Drew loves HP Lovecraft and has always loved Black Morass. It was one of his favourite instances and always compares new ones to the love he felt.  I wonder if he knew of this connection (I am sure he did) or if this is just one massive coincidence for him?  I simply had no idea about the connection and it has me smiling!

I think my absolute favourite though has always been and will always be:

The Goonies

  • In The DeadminesEdwin VanCleef‘s pirate ship’s location inside a cave bears a resemblance to that of One Eyed Willie’s ship.

I had always felt as though that was what it was in reference to and Goonies is one of the best movies ever created (IMHO).  Of course the ships don’t look the same at all but it is a nice thought either way.

Shared: Topic 33 – Build your own achievement.

Been a long time since i have done one of these and am happy to be getting back into the Blogosphere. I have missed the community external to WoW and I am hoping to jump back in and see what is around. But let’s start with something nice and easy 😀 A topic I have no idea about :p

Welcome to topic 33 of Z and Cinder’s Blog challenge! Thanks to those who have liked and shared these posts. Remember, if you have a topic you would like to suggest as a challenge, please let us know!

Whether you’re a casual achievement hunter, or a dedicated “must have them all” achievement hunting superstar, there’s no denying the satisfaction felt when that achievement ding sounds. But is there something missing from WoW?

For our latest challenge topic, we want to know:

If you could add an achievement to World of Warcraft, what would it be and how would someone achieve it?
Maybe you’ve felt there’s an obvious achievement that should be in game already. Or maybe you want to create an intricate quest line for people to get a special reward at the end. We want to know!

For me the really obvious one here was class mounts. I would have liked a class mount achievement saying that I had it. Some were a lot of work to obtain and whilst I get the mount itself is the “WOO Factor” I was a little disappointed there was no achievement flash. Unless there is one for getting all the mounts on every class? Which I won’t get since I still don’t have every class maxxed out and am unlikely to do so for a long time, if ever.

I feel this is especially important for people who had really crappy class mounts <cough>  mages  <cough>   so we could at least feel we got something for the effort of killing hardish elementals.

This still makes me angry every time I look at it.

Or even Druids who get a different flight form but no real choice in the matter, what if I liked the old form better? Why no running form because I can’t use my class mount on Antorus it just seems like a waste.

They built up these mounts as well for months and each is so unique, I don’t understand why they didn’t give you an achievement for it. The storylines for them are all amazing as well. So much work went into them and then…you get it and you have a little scene and that is it. No reminder of the moment.

Reading Fairytales Openly

To Stream or not to Stream?

To be, or not to be? That is the question—
Whether ’tis nobler in the mind to suffer
The slings and arrows of outrageous fortune,
Or to take arms against a sea of troubles,
And, by opposing, end them?

I have been toying with the idea of streaming the last couple of weeks, more so since Drew suggested I should get into Vloging.  He really enjoys watching Panser #tradechat and she is enjoyable and fun, but I am not sure the stuff I blog about would be worthy of a Vlog.

I decided to see how hard it would be to start streaming and jumped onto Twitch for a squizz. I downloaded a program called Bebo and started fiddling with it. I would say I was “streaming”in about 20 minutes.  Not so bad really for a clueless nublet such as myself. I put that in quotation marks as flipping between game and software doesn’t really mean I was doing anything other than flying around herbing 😀 But I was sending data into the multiverse!

I remembered Panser commenting about moving to FB live to do her streaming now thanks to Youtube and their change in expectations with vidoes. So I also created a page on FB for Azerothian Life because I wanted to test out the Blizzard live streaming function they had, but I didn’t want it on my personal feed.  I have to test it out with my group and see if it records discord as well so they can be heard on the stream and not just me.

There is a video on my twitch channel of the 5 of us running a mythic 10 in kara however you can’t hear them very well as I had the wrong settings chosen.  I corrected it later and tested it with Ben, so in theory I know how it works.

I didn’t notice any frame rate issues with my laptop when running the stream in a dungeon, so I am hoping to stream on our raid nights, but honestly no idea how that will go.

I haven’t even looked at Youtube based on the Vloggers I watch who have commented on their recent changes making it difficult for people to even subscribe and receive content or be paid for that content.  So at this stage I am tossing up between twitch and facebook.  I also note that because I am an Amazon prime customer I get twitch prime which is nice as well.

Anyway, feel free to follow me on any of these places and let me know what streaming platform you prefer to use or watch!

Back…Again

So I am back again 😀

I did lose a lot of posts due to my last cancellation and to retrieve them it was going to be $750.  I have decided then I will just try and upload the posts I can find from my phone and also web history archive.\

I am going to be missing a lot of the images until I am back home and on my actual pc to upload them.  In the mean time old posts prior to this one are just that. Old and incomplete.

I have added a couple of posts about the last few days/weeks and I will try and back date a couple more to fill out more recent events but as all things, we have to start to build up again 😀

Thanks for coming back dear reader and I hope you are willing to spread the love, posts and comments 🙂 See you in Azeroth.

20,000 views under the sea

Since I started this blog on it’s own domain I only have stats from January 2014 – however I have managed to hit 20,000 views!

I think that is a very impressive amount!! I was hoping to actually get the image showing 20,000, but it happened overnight whilst I was sleeping :)  The best views I have had on one day was 205 which I believe would have been related to the transmog competition I ran last year.  I generally sit on about 50 views a day at the moment with a varied amount of visitors anywhere between 15 – 40…but I have quite a few people who RSS and don’t actually come to my blog so I know I have more people reading than this shows.

I am amazed at how many countries come here…I wonder how many are not legitimate or are from spamming companies. I have a pretty broad selection in here and I am happy about that!

I thought I would do something special for my 20,000 view and I was thinking of another transmog competition, but I wasn’t sure if the shine of transmog had worn off as there seems to be less and less competitions running – or perhaps I am just out of the loop.  I had a fantastic idea for a group transmog event thing – that was less competition and more fun..but may be hard to get happening.  It would need at least 9 people if you did three groups of 3 people (or even 4) and I don’t think I could get 9 people interested.

But aside from that crazy idea…I have enjoyed keeping a record of my ingame life. It gives me a sense of achievement.  I like having made the friends I have made through blogging.

So thank you.

Each and every one of you that have dropped past, commented, read, laughed or even just read 1 post on here.  I appreciate the time and the connection!  Feel free to drop past on twitter or FB and follow me there as well!
