We spent last week on annual leave and just chilled out at home, we did some major Autumn cleaning and some time in WoW, probably about an even spread really.
We managed to get hubbies Rogue to 90 last week, which makes his fourth toon as well :) He has a Priest, Druid, Shammy and Rogue now all 90, we made his rogue the GM of our guild and we transferred that over to Saurfang as well. We have a bank again!!! I was dying without one I will be honest – my toons have so much mail between them!!
Here is his rogue, looking very samurai like with the banner on her back a few quest hand ins before dinging for the final time. Hubby was feeling a little sentimental about this one as his rogue – which he raided on in Vanilla, has not been level capped since then. So sentimental infact that he is even considering making this his main for WoD!!
My Shaman is so close to 90 I can taste it…I just need to find a little more time to get some dungeon runs in
We did an alt run tonight because of the save to the DW kill. It was a pretty good run considering we had 8 alts in the run, we got the first four bosses down.
The shame I mention is my own. I was an awful raid leader tonight, I was so focused on trying to get my rotation as boomy that I wasn’t leading very well, so when I tried leading my rotation suffered. I couldn’t balance everything (no pun intended) but a boomy rotation is so different to a Mage. I do ok in LFR because I only need to watch my rotation and not anything else.
I healed on yorsahj because it was a little heavy for the healers, I sucked by the way. I gave it my best though and we got him down. I also called out badly on the colours which didn’t work and then we wiped, but then after copping shit for it, it didn’t wipe us the next time. Anyway, I guess something was different the other time, anyway I apologised profusely for my bad calls.
My DPS was barely above 16k all night, I have seen myself do much better, but I was just disappointed. If I want this o be my main in MoP, I have to be able to play the fucking thing better. My hubby however, jumped on his shammy and was fighting for top spot with 2 hunters, sitting at about 25k with pretty sub gear; he is so impressive as a player
Onto other things, hubby and I spent all day playing the shammy and paladin, we got them to 84! About 40% through, so not long to go :). We also have hubby’s druid to 83 and his tips were helping me in healing DS.
All in all an eventful night and I am exhausted.
I have been jumping on the occassional LFG with my priestie, and she is now level 39!!
I am pretty excited, and I have tio admit running constant LFG is not the way to gear her, but it is better than questing through tarren Mill and STV again!! LOL
edited to add -
She is level 40 now!! YAY!!
Will consider switching her to the horde and onto my mains realm shortly I think, so I can help with gear and professions levelling :G Plus I need all the silk for my mage to hand in for BB rep heeheheh
I decided last night, after doing some dailies to go forth and once again farm creatures in Hinterlands for the damn distress beacon….FINALLY got it after only about 20 minutes of killing slimes YAY ME!!! Only taken me over 18 hours to farm the damn beacon….
Did the escort quest for my last chicken and then headed to Booty Bay where I promptly died upon landing as I forgot that I am not friendly with BB after getting my admiral hat
Also found out I could not even hand in my quest – I was hoping by some small chance being he was a gnome he would have a different allegiance…I was sadly wrong
So I scampered off and started killing bloodsails, I figure I may as well farm the Hyacinth Macaw whilst getting my rep back up enough to hand in the damn distress beacon chicken!! LOL I have to get all the way from hated, so I figure I am going to be killing a fair few bloodsails….and yes.,..I am no longer going after the insane title…I just can’t be bothered in all honesty
Once I have done these two I will start on the disgusting oozeling :) Hopefully my priest will be level 50 soonish – if i actually start trying to get her moving and I can just throw her in the pit and let her work for it :D My shammy farmed 3 levels and a firefly so it is a good method hehehe
I moved my warrior horde side Hubby has a horde fetish and wanted to run some heroics, so since I have offered my pally to the guild for xpac my warrior was doing nothing
I have to get a decent picture, I didnt take any today when I did it but here is one of him getting his groove on
Was very odd running around on him today, for a start – its a him!! LOL my first male toon ever I think!!
Ran a handful of heroics, wiped us twice, once due to poor management, I think my arse is now bigger than I realise and I backed into some mobs, the other time I can’t remember right now what happened, but all in all we coped and no one abused me, so that is good.
Almost got enough badges for a couple more tier 9 pieces which should boost me enough to perhaps start running UldTOC or something…..if I am lucky anyway
Shammy is finally level 70!
Got my fire boy and heroism!!
GRATS TO ME!!
I was already in Northrend I went there when I was 68 and I have been having the worst time of it, partly because I really can’t describe how much I hate BOTH of the starting areas in Northrend….I really dislike both areas, so it has taken me a very very long time to keep doing anything whilst there. I might just run some instances as much as possible so I can skip to 73 eheheh
So I have been recently running heroics on my pally, and that is probably an exaggeration, it has been about 2 weeks since I have actually logged in, but prior to this little break due to Real life, I had just started running as a tank :)
I am basically trying to say, that I think I miss it!! LOL I think I love tanking :D I can see why some people hate it, but I find it far less annoying than DPSing :)
I am tanking on my warrior and my pally and I cannot choose which I prefer to play as a tank, they are both uber to me.
I don’t want to play my mage at the moment, I get too depressed when I log onto her and see she has no tier 10 due to lack of raiding at the moment. So I like being on my wariror/pally who are slowly building up badges for the tier 9 gear :) Will be abe to start PUGging ICC with them soon maybe heehh
Just thought you should know
So I got all revved up and decided to tank some heroics on my warrior….I have lost a little confidence in being a tank to be honest, I feel really bad that I can’t seem to hold multiple adds very well….and I know it is just experience, but I feel like a right royal twat sometimes when I am in a group with all randoms, because they don’t know that I am new to tanking….no one has said anything about it though, so can’t be too bad, and when I have told them I am new to tanking I generally get compliments so that is always good.
However tonight….tonight was kickarse!! I tanked HoS!! Yes HoS!! You know the sucky instance with Brann Wankerbeard needing to be protected during that event? I tanked it!! And by tanked I mean we didn’t wipe! We had a little trouble towards the end of the event as the 2 DPS had died from standing in a fire so mobs were running around everywhere and I was doing my best to grab them all, but I don’t have a heck of a lot of AOE taunting moves…..anyway….we survived, well the rest of us did :D
Then as luck would have it we got UP next. You know with the gauntlet of death and the insane flying boss, well I managed to do that as well!! LOL I was on a high!! We wiped once in UP – I didn’t get far enough into a corner to do a LoS pull, so I know for next time. I got my red sword of courage!!! So I have a much better weapon now that people can stop mocking me for…apparently my quest reward for killing Durn at level 65 was not considered a good weapon for my tanky hehehe
So I think I am starting to get a little more confident. Having some raid experience now and some better gear is making it a little easier to feel like I am able to click tank on the random heroic thing now!! Just need to keep the momentum going and get the gear happening :D I would like to start tanking on her more often :D I do enjoy it when I am having a good night J
Oh that’s right I also tanked ToC!!! As in I was one of the tanks – actually tanking!! The RL had me doing all the icky things like picking up adds “I nailed it” hehehe.
Only need another 10 triumps for an offhand and ring upgrade…..woot woot!
My poor alts have been neglected until recently. I have been playing them a fair bit which is so much fun. I can see why people like having alts
My warrior has been running heroics as much as possible, I picked up 2 pieces of Tier gear with my triumphs and so am starting to get her better geared. I picked up the pieces that repalced current blues to ensure better overall upgrades.
I am getting better at tanking and am offering to run them as much as possible as tank, I am still a little slow on picking up loose mobs, but i think some of that is that I can’t see the loose mobs when my FPS start to go ballistic, and being a tank I am right in the thick of it, on top of the fact I sometimes get lost in the button smashing heh But I am getting there, I need more stam and I need to get my gear enchanted….which I haven’t done.
I have also started levelling her mining again and her blacksmithing. Nowhere near finisihed yet, but at least I am making an effort :D She is let’s say – 50% through both of them.
My shammy is stagnating at 68 waiting for the hubby to get his pally to the same level so we can level through Northrend together. So I have taken her back to the starting areas to level her skinning and herbalism, I am hoping to be at the northrend level so whilst levelling I can get all gathering done as well and make some money off it. We shodul be getting started on them soon, which is cool.
My priest, is now level 30 and she is going to be an enchanter/JC, I have not started either of her professions, I should start now though so i can send her everything from my other toons as I go. I am just running her through dungeons at the moment with the random thing and levelling that way when i get some time on her. I actually chose skinning/herbalism for her then realised I had my shammy with those two professions, so I had to find others for her to do
My druid is on hold now, until Cataclysm – I want a worgen druid and I am nto going to level the same class twice :) So she is just a place holder for the minute, I will be making her a LW – and not sure what else at this stage – maybe engineer :D So I might make her a guild bank of her own so I can start stocking stuff etc for all my levelling of professions. No point selling all the lower level leathers, if my druid will use them later, so I just want to store them basically, same with all the gems etc
My pally hasn’t been logged into for about months, I am considering just transferring her over to the alliance side. I like my Pally and I miss not being able to play her. I would like to get some healing experience on her. Then I will have all bases covered, healing/tanking and DPSing eheh
shield slam > revenge > shockwave > conc blow > devastate.
There are several different hit caps.
The melee hit cap causes all your single weapon auto attacks to always hit and causes all special melee attacks to always hit. This is reached at 8%.
The spell hit cap causes all your spells to always hit. This is reached at 17%.
The dual wield hit cap causes all your dual wield auto attacks to always hit. This is reached at 27%
Hit is almost a pure threat stat, it causes your attacks to hit more, and thus it makes you do more threat. There should be a reasonable amount of hit available on tank gear, but you shouldn’t gem or enchant for it.
The only time you should ever worry about hit caps is if you need to taunt something. If you glyph taunt, and the boss is properly debuffed (Improved Faerie Fire – Spell – World of Warcraft or Misery – Spell – World of Warcraft), you need 6% additional spell hit chance to always hit with yout taunt. This is 158 hit rating.
Note that taunt is based off of spell hit, and that you get more spell hit chance from your rating then that you get melee hit chance.
Expertise governs two things. The chance a mob has to dodge you and the chance a boss has to parry you.
You negate the mobs chance to dodge you when you reach 6.5% dodge and parry reduction at 26 expertise skill.
You negate the mobs chance to parry you when you reach 14% dodge and parry reduction at 56 expertise skill.
A note on hit and expertise.
For both hit and expertise, the general thing to remember is this: “If you do enough threat, you don’t need more of them. It is important, though, to realize that having more of either of them will make your threat less spiky. While this effect is minor, having a string of misses at the beginning of a fight can cause someone to grab aggro.
My advice would be to not worry about getting to either cap, but not completely ignoring the stat either. Gemming or enchanting for hit or expertise shouldn’t be needed
