Yes!! That titles sounds wrong, but soooo right, I am going to leave it!
I was home along the other night and attempted LFR which failed miserably, so was standing around when I got a message from my friend Aza to say I could tag along with their mount farming! HELL YES! I asked, hopefully, if we could do my last ICC achievement on LK.
We did! It was messy and hilarious, Lushen died, I died, Owl was doing 2k wrath bolts whilst trying to heal and Aza tanked! But you know – LOOK WHAT I HAVE!?!?!?!!!
I was squealing on voice comma just a little too much!
We did ulduar as well; no mount, we knocked over the Throne of the 4 Winds as well for some giggles:
and then my lovely guildies helped me with 2 achievements I was missing for this ugly monstrosity! As it is a dragon, I can forgive it for being drawn ugly, but I am likely not going to use it.
I am now 3 mounts off the 150 mount achievement, to be fair I could spend sometime farming dungeons/raids on my pally and doing this like archaeology to increase it. I certainly am not likely to ever have the money to buy the big mounts, like the repair mammoth/Yak or the mechanohogs etc. I have to find other ways to get my numbers up.
I want to farm anzu and malygos…but am too chicken to attempt solo malt, and there is skaadi as well…I should start farming. I have enough level 90 toons, I could leave them at each instance!
Anyway, thanks to my awesome friends for making my dream of owning this dragon a possibility!
One of the issues we faced moving our guild bank with us to the new server was that it was chock full of stuff that needed to be sorted through, so whilst doing that I realised I had most of the stuff needed to get the last 3 cooking things completed. I needed to buy a couple of things off the AH, and I had to farm some crockolisk belly, and I needed Jade squash – thanks to McTacky’s reminder – I completely forgot you could buy bagfuls from the guy at Halfhill, so I spent as many motes as I had left (after the soy sauce purchases) to buy more tokens to buy bags of squash. I was nowhere near 250 and so Mctacky gracefully provided the rest for me :) I really do owe him so much!!
So, now all I have to do is continue the questline and make the rest of these recipes…which I need black pepper for – which means more tokens – so I have to start doing my dailies again to get the tokens….or make motes….either way…time to collect more stuff…I really hope there isn’t much more after this…I dislike the cooking this expansion…really really really dislike it.
Last week before shut down whilst I was on holidays and hubby was out for the evening, a couple of guildies decided to run some old content (they do this regularly chasing mounts) and I tagged along as I wanted to get some achievements, mounts would be awesome – don’t get me wrong – but I am more concerned with getting my achievement mounts first – they do have a much higher drop rate :p
Anyway, to cut a very long eventful night short, we ran ICC (H 25 man), Uld (I think it was H 25 man), Firelands (H 25 man) and then ToT (10).
I kid you not – I KID YOU NOT!!!! We 5 manned all of it and I scored so many achievements! I have added them all into a gallery because let’s face it, you don’t need a huge long arse post with every single screenshot and let me tell you there were heaps of them!!
I am now only one achievement off my second ICC mount – SOOO CLOSE!! I can taste it! I still need every Ulduar one in 10 man for my drake, I am now 23/25 embers off for my legendary staff and I am now halfway through the achievements for the mount in FL as well.
It was pretty exciting though as Owl managed to complete his legendary staff quest – and bug it out whilst trying to pick it up – it worked in the end though – and I was soooo excited and completely jealous! So I am going to try and find some way to get into FL more regularly now just to get this done and perhaps the achievements for the mount. He kept saying he was going to delete it or trash it, and I may have to kill him for comments like that – I would give my left..well…body part for it!
We had very few wipes overall and seriously some of the DPS these guys can throw out had me in just complete and utter awe! I just felt so completely outclassed! I mean I know my gear isn’t great, but seeing people hitting 800k or more just makes me feel useless at 160k….really useless. I hope that playing with awesome players will help keep me on my toes and wanting to improve my playing as well. I can’t guarantee I will ever be as amazing as those guys – but I will be damned if I am not going to try my hardest!
So here is the gallery of all the shots I got today!
I am so damn proud of myself for finally getting to this point!! I was only like 300 points off the day before so was itching to jump on the next day so I could do one daily and get my Anglers rep to exalted!!
Which of course gets me this lovely mount, I am now sitting at 143/150 – I must find other mounts to buy…only 7 more needed for the next acheivement :
I just have the lesser reps to work on now, like Shieldwall and the KT Offensive. I must start doing the dailies again – I am not far off exalted for the KTO, and I am miles off for Shieldwall – I don’t think I am in friendly even, I was trying to figure out the quest chain the other day and completely confused myself. I must remember to find a guide on it so I can work out where to start/continue the chain.
I also didn’t realise you can fish without a pole equipped anymore, you just get a stick with some twine on it,…pretty cool, although I think it was nice that you had to use a fishing pole. I guess I think they should have kept some things as intended and not dumbed it down…
The only reason I figured that out was because a friend mentioned it over dinner and whilst I was out trying to achieve the above and also complete this little pretty, I gave it a shot and voila…instant fishing.
I had needed the Spinefish Alpha for a while and just never been in the Kun Lai area to catch it, so I made a special trip just to get it. Woot! I only actually have 2 more achievements to get the Salty title. I have to do the BB tournament (which requires me to get my rep back up so I can actually get close to BB) and I need to catch one of the rare fish that you never see, which I can’t force, but do need to just spend some time fishing (which may actually help me get that damn turtle mount as well!!).
So, after much turmoil, discussion and weighing of our options, hubby and I have decided to just stay where we are. Blizzard really need to come up with a bulk transfer option for moving toons. Neither of us could justify spending the money to move all our toons back to horde (given we just switched alliance) and to another server to start life up again.
I feel bad for Frosties as I had planned to be with them, but I just can’t justify it in my mind. I can’t even really commit to a raid team due to my work roster and I would hate to jeopardize a raid team or not even raid very often because of my shifts after spending so much money on moving.
This fortnight is ok, I am on earlies, but the next couple of weeks are late and that means I may not be home in time to start raids. It will be like this until I change jobs.
Anyway we decided to stay on Nagrand and just raid with some blogging friends of mine. They are nice and funny and so far in the two raids we have been in, we have had a lot of laughs and boss kills.
We did normal 10 man – killed a few bosses, both hubby and I got some upgrades – Sha of Pride first, I died on the trash :p, Galakras was defeated Iron Juggernaut caused us a couple of wipes due to positioning and really..OWWIES!!!, Dark Shaman was another couple of wipes – positioning and again OWWIES! also lag for our healers was not helping, but got there in the end – I love that fight!! Love it!! So much crazy in one space! Also scored a groovy achievement on Nazgrim, I died a horrible burning death on that fight.
We attempted Malkorok, but wiped a couple of times without killing him, I blame myself really, about half way through the raid I lost my focus due to some of the discussion happening and I couldn’t seem to get my focus back. Really I forgot the problem with being in a guild is the triggery stuff that gets said.
The next night we went back in and did Siegecrafter (I died – as I always do on that fight), I just haven’t got my grove with that one yet, paragons and we then Garrosh – with a cool achievement :
Garrosh, was technically easy, but the strat was different and I wasn’t really sure if I was supposed to be in or out, but overall not really bad. I died because we got told to wait during one of the intermissions but someone in my group went in and I wasn’t fast enough to get out of the purple stuff – I got stuck on the stairwell and had nowhere to go
It was so much fun to be raiding again, I still feel bad I am not with the Frosties, but my pally is still there and I do plan on playing her a lot, she is one of my favourite toons after all, but until it becomes cheaper to move multiple toons I can’t justify it. You would think at this point when people have multiple alts – for leveling or banking – it gets very expensive. :( Happy and Sad panda!
We have raided a couple of times since this first attempt and honestly it just gets funnier each time. I am still trying to settle in and feel really weird after playing the last 2 months alone, to be actually in a guild with people online and doing things.
After much deliberation I have started on the happy and excruciating task of killing poor little creatures in an attempt to level my pets. So far, I have found it annoying, and depressing and overall, I am not sure I am cut out for it in the long run. I can’t bring myself to kill the other animals, so I have been capturing them and releasing them when I get three of them. Is that pathetic or what? Don’t get me started on the guilt when I kill one by accident :( Yet, when mine get killed do you think there is any remorse from the other animals??? NO !!! And the jerk pet trainers laugh at me!! And Cheer!!! it’s horrid….
I have a couple of different teams, only because I am trying to get them to the same level so I can go to the same areas and train them all up at once, I have a couple at level 5 through to 9 and then a few between 3 and four. Currently I am levelling: onyxia, voodoo figurine, Panther cub, Chuck, disgusting oozeling, darkmon glowfly, squirrel and murkablo. I have a couple of others I want to level, but since they are poor quality I am reticent to do so. The little black ram is awesome, but I need to capture some more to find an uncommon one at least…or..maybe I should just use the upgrade thing I got in a supply bag…yeah I might do that!!
I was running around loch modan then decided to read some guides by a few bloggers, this lead me to battling trainers, currently I am unable to best the trainer in STV as my pets are too low. I need to spend more time levelling them.
I do wonder if i need to set up some toons with set teams and just move them around. Is that easier? Honestly I don’t know…my original plan was to get them in the same rough area, then level 3 to the next area, get the next group up to the same level, then keep going until the current lot are maxxed for the zone, then move on. But it is taking much much much longer then I anticipated. I think I need to start killing the creatures
For all my effort i have managed to score some achievements!
More to come, I am sure, if I continue to level them before the boredom sets in. However I would like to at least attempt the Celestial tournament thingie….one day
You just have to find interesting things to do when you are doing the same things every day, so chasing achievements is what we are doing…some times…when we remember Nothing much has been happening other than just playing with toons and keeping busy with the huge amount of stuff I still want to get done before any new xpacs.
“Dog pile” to get started, wish I had a picture of 30 mobs on me and arcane explosion going off! I have to get the one with the field of fire/swords, but I honestly have no idea how i am going to do that one…more investigation needed on that front. You have to do it and take no damage?? Whaaaa????
I also scored a shado-pan achievement I didn’t even know was there! I love the surprise ones the best! Yes, I felt incapable of trimming my dragon out – that would be blasphemy!
We also finally decided to get this dinosaur, Eros, killed, it has been in our logs for a few weeks as he was killing us really quickly when we attempted it last time we decided to leave it until we had better gear or an actual group. We happened upon someone mid kill and decided to help him out with it, turns out he was willing to do it a second time for us as well. It was an awful fight and I am dreading doing the next part which requires us to summon another 4 mobs!! Anyhoo, shout out to Candaris on our server for helping and being awesome enough to help us with the kill. You are super special and we really appreciated it!
I have created a little lowbie Tauren monk to run around on with the frostiness, being sick with shingles as I am, I am pretty tired and effort required to play at 90 is more than I can handle.no idea how far I will go with it, but it gives me something to just veg with.
I hope everyone enjoyed whatever festivities they celebrated yesterday, the day before or even the day before that.
I logged in after getting home from lunch with the family and jumped straight onto my pally to continue the trek to 90.
Xmas guild chat was hilarious..I cannot even begin to tell you how much I was laughing…the discussion with Nok regarding haloumi was particularly delicious because I then had dreams of it that night! Nok was quite inebriated, and although I started off as post tipsy, I was soon into a bottle of Malsmey (like port) and had done half of it by the time I went to bed. Hubby and I tried to run a heroic with him tanking at one point and although we got through the heroic, we decided we were too pissed to be attempting that with strangers….So we called it quits on that.
Boxing day morning we jumped online pretty early because we couldn’t sleep and I managed to get to 88:
Pretty happy with my effort to be honest, I am trying pretty hard to get to 90. This current level is going to suck my will to live, but I am going to start tanking some normal runs soon I think and see how badly I do. I really don’t know if I have my tanking mojo anymore.
I also decided to grab my presents under the tree and I was appalled at the behaviour of the alliance players…we had smoke bombs, growing mounts, people just standing on top and making it a living hell. Here is what it looked like for me on my main server – and every server I went to with Alliance toons was similar (3 servers):
Yet, horde this is the image that greeted me….and I would point out there were plenty of hordies playing with the zeppelin etc, so they had grabbed their presents…:
I swear – I am not lying I went to Org on 3 servers and they were all like that – completely empty and well behaved. I watched many people run up, grab their presents and then run back down the hill or to the side or just away in general, I like horde…
One thing I have noticed since roaming around Ogrimmar is the amount of thugs now harassing the poor little people. I dislike Garrosh who really does like him? I can’t wait to lay some smackdown on him, so of course that requires I do some LFR!!!
Hubby and I signed up for it and copped a really bad run, so we decided to wait until our best friends were online and we conned them into taking us on a run, they are on a different server in a raiding guild doing really well, but we have always done 5 mans together and had fun just running around when we can. It is a lot of fun when we get the chance to just play together, this was no different.
We got both parts 2 and 3 done the other night with little issues…I didn’t really enjoy the first fight as you get off the boats – it was a little long and a little bland, but perhaps it would be better in the tower team? maybe next time. I loved the the other fights, they were all pretty fun and completely insane, fights I really enjoy as you should. The Dark Shaman fight is fantastic and I can’t wait to do that again – so many spell affects and things to avoid…
Malkorok was one of those fights that I just did not understand, I stayed alive though and mostly followed the crowd, but I just didn’t understand what happening, going to try and read about that one some more and see if I can’t understand it a little better for next time. The boxes boss was pretty fun as well, something slightly different but still challenging and of of course, who doesn’t love being chased by a T-rex
I also had scenes from the lion king flashing in my mind of Pumbaa being chased by Nala screaming “She’s going to eat me!!” That’s healthy fear right there!!!
Last part to go now, not sure when I will get it done but I am looking forward to it. From the description of the fight I may live to eat my words, but you know it’s LFR…how bad can it be?? RIGHT!?!?
I have been doing my best since I got back to enjoy the little things. Pandaria seems to be the continent if you want to fill your bags with completely novelty items. I am nearly at 50 items which do/summon/alter things and I am not entirely sure I have time to play with the all. My favourite is still my rainbow generator though!! They should make it upgradeable for current content!
But on current content, I have sen so many cool things, pink skellies, terribly ugly taxi services, outfits and birds that attack, plus so many others that I forgot to take images of. But here are some of my favourites
Slowest moving bird I have ever seen in my life!!!
Stupid quest took me far too long to do, but I liked how it showed us actually carrying things. I thought it was cute
The roll club – I scored the achievement on my first ever run on the quest, I love this quest – it is fun, different and just that little bit looney, however since my fantastic first ever run through
I am the little pink dot in the centre….not that you can tell at high speed down a hill…but I have to do it about 3 times before I can manage to stay on track, I must be over thinking it?
And the most awesome – I FINALLY got that stupid chest under the stupid ropes!!! Would you believe as I got onto the platform the game DC’d me, so lucky that I was behind the pillar and jumping to it with my mount or I would have had to go around again. So damn happy I finally got this one!
I think that is more than enough at the moment, but just so you know…I have many many many more pictures…I am being crazy about making sure I remember all the things we forget to enjoy in the game. What bits have you been enjoying or trying to appreicate?
