Before I completed the second part, twitter was filled with hatred for Sylvanas and what she does.

Ever since getting my violet mount a few years back I pretty much stopped paying attention to the world events. Not for any real reason other than I just didn’t want to fly around and collect things anymore 🙂 But midsummer festival was upon us and so I flew around and scored a couple more achievements.
I had forgotten I have achievements I could still chase.
So I think I am likelt to start checking out the world events again and trying to get more of them completed. I think I am still missing the day of the dead…I will have to check. Every year I say I am going to do it and then…well…it is hard to remember to log in on specific days ok?
Thankfully both hubby and I only had Broken Isles and Draenor to complete (woo!) so it took us barely any time to complete – even if we had to wander around aimlessly trying to locate the actual campfires for some of them.
I was also surprised to find dousing the flames didn’t require any battle. Am I remembering wrong – did you not used to have to fight to get to the flames and be battling PVP people as well as NPC’s? Am I making it harder than it ever was in my head?
I got all prepped for Draenor, I stood back, potted up, popped my shield, blew timewarp and then….nothing…I was going to go in flames blazing and all I got was a pop and fizzle.
I laughed at myself. I won’t also mention the war cry as I ran in only to find nothing happening.
It was funny to me anyway 😀
I finally had some time and motivation to jump online and do the continuation of the quest line in Silithus.
Mithraic and my druid headed over to the sword sticking out of Azeroth’s poor heart and I was, once again, greatly impressed with the size of this weapon. It really is a very terrifying visage!
All the corruption and red tendrils of hatred or whatever was spewing out.
It felt good to be part of stopping it with all the other champions of Azeroth. I am not sure how we will survive this. Each of us having to fill our weapons with corruption, seems like a bad idea imho. Are we all going to turn into angry beasts bathing in the blood of the alliance?
I admit to liking the effect it has on my claws – look how powerful I have become. I look invincible.
ROAR!!!! I am a bear after all. My roar should cause corruption to spew forth so I can kill my enemies even faster. I guess technically that is what happens when your artifact power is going crazy and not stopping from increasing in power.
I now have all the power!!
I also completed this on my mage, I had thought I had done the first part of the questing already but hadn’t. So it was nice to complete on her. I might see if hubby wants to do this on the demon hunters as well.
I don’t know what to do with myself now, we stopped the corruption and we just have to wait for BfA to start so we can see what happens and how the story begins. I am in the process of organising my annual leave from work, I am only going to take a week but I am going to make that week work. I would be wrapped if I can get both my druid and my mage levelled in that time. That is my plan anyway, similar to my bucket list of fail, I am not sure how I will go.
On the back of our very first guest post by Pracey, I thought I would write about my brawling experience the other night. I had started the brawl guild a few weeks ago and managed to get stuck on rank 2 or something. My intention was to get it done before xpac hits and thanks to a video we were watching, Drew and I remembered to jump back in, so that is what we did the other night.
Can you even see my tiny little blood elf next to his huge chest? I snuck this picture whilst he was waiting to go in. We actually did really well. I got stuck on a couple of bosses, the worst one being the fire guy. Drew also got stuck on this one for a few attempts. Stupidly RNG with the ball spawns but you just need to get the right combination and voila death to the infidel!
I cannot suggest enough, if you attempt to do the Brawler’s Guilde check out Wowhead’s guide on it. It is brilliant and I have used it every season. You can find it here. It lists everything neatly and easily with the relevant information easy to find. I use it between fights to know what is coming up next. Yup, you can flick between it and the game that quickly. Definitely use it.
I was chatting to Ben and telling him it was a great way to improve on your character as you have to be able to move, do burst damage and be aware within 2 minutes and was a bit of fun. He joined us later and was smashing the first few bosses before 30 seconds had even passed. This is him in action. I do love the spectator option. I would love something like that for raiding 😀
The three of us were just cheering each other on and having a laugh. I managed to get to the last boss, which I found difficult as I have only done Hellfire Citadel once (I think) and barely remember the content. All the attacks are based on bosses from that raid. I got it down after a few attempts learning what things needed to be focused on at each point – I think maybe 3 in total? It really helps that we out gear the brawls quite significantly now.
I am King of the guild now! Why not Queen? I have no idea…but I will take it! We came back in the next night to complete the rest of Drew’s bosses and whilst he was doing that I was doing random fights for the achievement (and shirts). I have so many damn shirts now! I have a few extra from that picture as I did even more than the anticipated 10 for the achievement. I can’t wait for the next Trial of Style to rock around!
I know I am missing the entire joke behind this achievement I am Thralls complete lack of surprise and even wowhead has no insight…I am confused.
I went and grabbed my mount and pet, plus the heirloom. I actually quite like the basilisk movement, but will need to actually ride it more and see if I could handle it long term.
It sort of has this S-motion with it’s body and tail when it walks. Maybe it will be motion sickness inducing actually…lol. Honestly for not much effort you could get another mount and pet if you are a collector. It took us basically a couple of hours on 2 nights to get to the last boss and I would say there are 3-4 that might take you more than 2-3 of attempts at most.
I still need one more achievement which requires 2 more rumbles, so will try and get them over this coming weekend but it is highly dependant on other people who are in the queue and if they pay attention to what needs to occur. (The “Rumbles” are an event which every person in the queue – at the time of purchasing the token – get entered into and you have to collectively do different things). Likely would be easier with a group of friends on discord so you can warn/coordinate.
Guest post – cherry popped.
Dragonray/elle suggested I do some Brawlers Club tonight so I could learn to stop going into panic mode and hammering buttons that are on cooldown constantly, however at the time I was doing some… what’s the name of that place where the Sunwell raid is? (Isle of Quel’d’nas?) – I was doing that at the time, getting some rep and trying to complete a transmog set. Still not there with either.
Aaanyway, later on I finally turned up and although I didn’t realise straight away that I was standing next to them – lo and behold both Mithraic and Dragonray were present:
I did some Brawlers Guild ages back on Tardin, my Shadow Priest (he has tentacles guys – tentacles!), and remember being really pissed off and frustrated so I hadn’t been here in a few years. After Mithraic and Dragonray left for real-life stuff like food and sleep I discovered that this Brawlers thing gets harder. I got up to some bit with ghostly Pandaren floating around the place and blue squares on the floor. It didn’t go well.
I mostly enjoyed watching other people get their arses handed to them, occasionally remembering to take a screenshot:
Level 1 feels about right in terms of difficulty. After all, I did almost get one-shot by a penguin (hello Lay on Hands!), but hey – who hasn’t had that happen to them?
This was a short night, but I did get a cheevo (what the cool kids call achievements, or so I’m told) for my first Brawl. Colour me disappointed that I didn’t get another each time I was successful.
Due to Drew and my birthdays this week, we had some of our best friends come down from Sydney to attend our birthday dinner. It was an amazing night and the weekend was made better with table top gaming included when possible.
During periods of food though and a fair chunk of Sunday morning we watched the Mythic invitationals. Why? Because the 5 of us make up our main mythic group. Michael, Ben, Oui, Drew and myself.
It was definitely an eye opening experience watching these groups kill content with ease. We learnt so much about boss mechanics that we had missed and how to deal with certain things. It will definitely see an improvement in our play…I hope…
A few points to note though:
Every single tank was a DK. If one tank can be so completely OP there is an issue (in my mind). There was no other class represented at all in this role. This provides imbalance already, to the Blizzard trope of “playing the class you want to play”. I should – be able to level any Tank and be able to complete content to the same level. I shouldn’t have to play an awful class to do what I want to do in game. We run with a Druid and I refuse to level a DK.
Healers – Pally or Druid only. We saw at least 2 options here, thankfully. Again, anyone that has anything else is pretty much out of the running to get into the invitationals. You just won’t have the class to do it. Assuming mobility and type of spells available? We run with a Monk and I have NFI about healing in general but he tells me some things he has no real way to counter effectively more than once.
DPS – Was basically made up of Monks (even multiple), Demonhunters and a ranged. The general DPS we saw were Warlocks with a spattering of Mages and a Shammy or two – but not one Priest (in any role). It took most of the day to see a Warrior or a Hunter and it wasn’t until we started watching the Asian teams that we saw any Rogues. This was again a little disappointing because I felt it was pretty specifically made up of certain classes that you had to have to succeed. We run with a Rogue, Shammy and Paladin.
We have the completely wrong team and this makes me wonder if this is why we struggle on mythics above 13/14 because we simply don’t have the class make up. I am sure at our level that isn’t true – we are just still learning the mythic dungeons to a larger degree, but how much harder have we made it on ourselves?
The most amazing this I saw over the weekend was the team called “No Healer”. They actually had no healer and it blew my mind. I kid you not.
They didn’t even have a healer class in. They had a few deaths but they actually won a round or two and I simply couldn’t handle it. How?! How can people play so well they don’t even need heals. Leech – I am assuming. But seriously. OP, DK, OP!!!
I have since found out there is an entire section of the time trials without healers in the groups on the time trial pages here. Check out +22 Upper Kara….not one healer but all monks. All the way.
I plan on catching up on some more this week to see how it goes. I can’t wait to see more. This has inspired our group to focus a little more and be better in mythics. I think a team with no healer having less deaths made us feel bad so we plan on improving that!
I still disagree with only certain classes making the top groups. We should be able to succeed at that level no matter what class. What are your thoughts? Are you even watching?
I finally managed to remember when this weekend was on and decided to head to Feralas to check it out.
You find a nest and then touch the egg so it emotes and eventually cracks open.
It is so adorable. I also noticed there was a rare flying around – which after multiple attempts I gave up as she was just unbelievably hard for someone like my pally with no gear. Even after getting hubby over to get an egg and help as well.
But the little hatchling was awesome. So adorable how she sits on your shoulder and then emotes about what you are doing.
Quick update on some of my achievements in WoW since I have been overseas. Yes I have been playing as I managed to get sick and haven’t really been keen to go outside in the humidity feeling like I do!
But, I did manage to get my noble bunny the day before it stopped. I could have sworn they increased the eggs again this year as I had not trouble at all in razor hill doing laps with a few other people and always finding eggs.
I also managed to finally get enough AP to complete my weapon, and only today have I managed to actually collect enough to select all ranks. Not sure what I do now, do I just keep any further AP tokens for when I change weapons or do I change anyway so I can complete them <shrug> something to consider anyway.
I have also completed 2 Fel assaults now, one in Stormheim and one in Highmountain. I hadn’t realised I needed to so scenarios etc and I was wondering why I was not completing them in the achievement. Now I know. I only have 2 wait for 2 more to pop up.
I did Highmountain this morning.
Overall quite enjoyable and I hope to get the others completed soon. I am still working on our flying achievements and if we have time we might get the Suramar stuff done this weekend with any luck. It will put us one step closer to getting there. I think we will only need the armies of legion rep to get it.
But just a quick update as you can see – I haven’t really been doing much, no world quests and barely anything useful really, but I am an addict and do miss the game.
One of the problems with having such a massive personal week, is that every single year I forget that Children’s Week is on and this means I never get to get my Wolvar pet. I got the Oracle when it was Wrath time, but the Wolvar just got lost in the general time flow. So has the Frenzyheart rep…which I have promised myself I will focus on…I am almost revered I think.
Anyway, after flying around like a mad woman and then getting embarrassingly stuck at Grizzlemaw in such a way that I had to port myself back to Dalaran, I finally got this pet!
I don’t have to worry about Children’s week again, unless there is one I am currently missing…I may investigate just to make sure
I am no longer a Brawling Virgin. I decided to just jump in today and see how badly I could fail. Turns out…I did better than I expected I would do. I am currently level 6 and it really didn’t take all that long. I stupidly, attempted a level 7 mob from the start and I think I was a little confused about how easy that one would be. I had a quest from my garden which gave me a challenge card….after dying about 4 times, I decided I would just start from the beginning 🙂
It took me about 10 attempts to kill him, I was so frustrated by the end of it, but I kept getting caught in his ground effect even though it looked as though my toon was well out of the way – clearly blink doesn’t work as well as I expected :p In the end I kicked his butt!!!!
I did manage to fudge through one boss, for some reason, someone was in the ring fighting their boss and I got pulled in for mine – at the same time – but when the other guy killed his mob it counted towards me having killed mine. Confused? I know I am still wondering how that happened, it was completely weird…
Hubby decided to come and join me as well, and we were cheering each other on as you do. I do love the cam view you can use which makes it look like you are right in the arena with them…pretty cool really.
I will definitely be going back to the brawlers guild, it was a lot of fun and gives you some other small thing to challenge yourself with. I like it. A lot! Anyone else out there doing this?
