A3 Pet Adoption…do it for the critters!

No, I am not kidding. You know when you find something you think is simply too good to be true…this is possibly it.

I know I haven’t been as pet focused lately and I do feel guilt for that, but this might be enough to get me back into it. What an amazing thing!

If you love pets you need to finish reading this post then head over to their website to sign up and get onto it.

I was trawling twitter a couple of days ago and stumbled across a RT by
Evolyn from A3 talking about adopting pets. So I had to follow up on it. I had no idea this was even happening – how could I have missed this!! Thanks Evolyn for RTing! The short version is; you join the guild on Bladefist Hordeside and then you check through their banked collection and request pets when the adoption week starts!!

This is simply a brilliant idea. You can read about how to get started on their forums here.

Here is the thing. I have so many pets duplicated but I can’t bear to release them because I figure someone surely wants them. But the people I know like Nelly and Ben have a metric tonne of the pets and don’t need what I have. This is perfect for them. They can get pets they are missing or even donate pets so other people can look after them. My plan this weekend is to jump online, create my toon, sign up on the forums and start going through my tradeable pets to donate.

So I tweeted them to make sure it was ok for me to write a post about them and share the love and knowledge of this unbelievable rehoming service! We have swapped a few DM’s as well but I wanted to show you my original tweet so you could understand my excitement about this. I used half my tweet allowance on “!”

I am so excited I am getting up early on Saturday morning to get the process started. This is the sort of stuff that makes me love WoW. This sense of community which is fostered by something as adorable little critters.

Ok, so I couldn’t help myself I signed up on the forums already as Dragonray 🙂 Say Hi if you see me around!

We return to your regular scheduled programming :)

Sorry I have been so absent. A month is a super long time in the blogging world but honestly I have been so busy over the last month (Thanks Christmas and New Years) that I couldn’t fit time for blogging or WoW or anything much else but cooking, cleaning and entertaining friends.

Christmas was a low key affair with the mother in law and my mum in attendance and food and chilling out for the day. We had to go to Albury Wodonga to pick up the mother in law so that took some time up on the weekend prior. No orphans in attendance this year…one year it will happen.

Boxing day we have an open invite for anyone to drop past and relax with us with no set time, menu, expectations. Our good friends used to do this until about 4 years ago due to ill health and this year Hubby and I decided to bring it back and start up the tradition. It was a small event with only a few people turning up but we played some jackbox.tv games and had a great time. It was nice to just graze and have nice conversation.

Then we had a DnD session which was amazing. The only real amazing reason (aside from us having 9 people sleeping in the house each in their own room and bed!!!) was we managed to get our DM to fly down for the day to be with us for the game! Secretly!! We donated all our frequent flyer points to reduce the cost; me, hubby and Pracey (our DM) were just making comments about sending pizza through the webcam etc because he wouldn’t be here. But then. He was. When Sian and Michael turned up it was hilarious because Sian didn’t immediately register he was in a location he shouldn’t be. Ash lost his mind a little bit when he walked in saw Pracey as well. I thought for a moment I had broken him. It was an amazing night (and weekend) we played games the next day and just had an awesome time. It was the best Xmas present I could offer some of my best friends.

Then New years we had a friend come over in the afternoon and we headed to a good friend’s place for a BBQ. It was also so much fun. I dressed up all goth/witch for some giggles and we sat around a table, chatted, laughed and enjoyed the company of some of the best people I know. We left at about 9pm (? maybe) and headed home where the three of us proceeded to marathon “The Hobbit” extended editions. We got through 2 movies and were in bed by about 1.30am. I lasted until the new year though, so I am very pleased with myself. We watched the last movie the next day for recovery 🙂

This doesn’t cover the random things like coven meet ups for the sabbat, or getting the tyres done on the car or my very first endota spa massage and facial (omg I need another one!!) and the raiding with the guild again (woo!) the general housework that needed to happen after so many people keeping us busy 🙂

I am hoping to get back into blogging again now that we have had 2 weekends in a row without anything on and I feel a little less tired from all the company. I also miss wow, so started levelling my mage again as I have been tanking the raids whilst people are on holidays. I don’t mind it, but it is painful to not have an alt to play in normal raids 🙂

I hope every single one of you my readers had an awesome break (if you weren’t working like me) and that you are still feeling relaxed and refreshed for a new year!! Tell me what you got up to people?

Topic 43 – Why do you choose the games you do?

Z and Cinder have gone on holidays and left us with a few topics to keep us entertained and instead of posting I just sort of…didn’t!!  But…here we go – I am doing the first one!!

I am also still deciding if I am allowed to continue Intpipmo given I only did one post….lol I failed on that front I think :p But hey…tis my blog I can back date and pretend they were done in November right?  RIGHT??!!?

Back to this topic though. The first game I ever got hooked on was Ragnarok – I have mentioned it previously I am sure.

Ragnarok 1992

It was an RPG game in the 90’s my brother and I played non-stop on the one computer we had. I would sit and watch him play so I knew how to when it was my turn.  It was about this time I started reading about magic and wizards (Thanks Magician by Feist) and so began my love of RPG – but I had no idea what that meant as a genre until much later.

I was without a computer or gaming for a few years and the next game I was hooked on was Pharaoh (thanks Sierra games) and thus began my love and adoration of City building games.

Pharaoh 1999

To  say obsessed would be an understatement, if anyone remembers the pain of this game and building some of the huge pyramids you will understand leaving the game running overnight in the hopes that your entire city wasn’t a burnt husk when you returned.  My enjoyment of city building still exists today and I have played a fair chunk of them but none of them had the same enjoyment for me as this one game (which I have on my pc now and sometimes pull out for an hour two).

I love city building because it is a puzzle and needs to be done well for it to work, the AI in older games was very unforgiving and if you stuffed it up you knew….they made sure you knew.  I also really enjoyed the games with historical significance – who doesn’t want to build a pyramid and be a pharaoh?  I loved Zeus as well as the mythological aspects in the games were enjoyable. I would love that is Aztec/Mayan based with the same style as Pharaoh or even a Pacific Islander one with you needing to see up small colonies on islands with different but similar cultures.  <Swoon>

Then I found out about MMO’s. Guild Wars was my first.

Guild Wars 2004

It was amazing to me that I could be a magic hurling character in a world like the books I was an avid reader of.  It made the worlds in my imagination real for me; I could see and interact with them.  That was until WoW came along in the form of a birthday present by a great friend.   I have tried a few MMO’s since and the only other one that was really engaging initially was Star Wars but WoW kept pulling me back for the graphic style, the lore, the story, the people and the dragons.

MMO’s are my favourite because of the team you play with. You get to work together, have a laugh with other people who want to be shapeshifting fire hurling agents of good (or chaos…looking at you SP’s and Locks) and you get to have dragons as pets and ride them.  What else can you possibly need? I love that other people enjoy high fantasy (…maybe not as much as me…in fact maybe they don’t even think of it like that?) and it sends me back to my days reading books like Lord of the Rings and the Belgariad…I can pretend I am a character in those novels and feel part of something bigger.

Transmogrification Classic Winner!!!

Winner Winner Chicken Dinner!!  (I know, I know, we don’t play PUBG…Shhhh)

We have a winner!! Look at this stunning outfit! Who knew that cloth gear could look so good – I really want this for myself.

Wrath of the Lich King

Zeirah provided some fantastic transmogs and the judges voted this was the best by the highest tally of votes.

Grats Zeirah, you will always be a winner with this outfit even if noone entered!

Enjoy your Whomper 🙂

Inconsistency breeds unhappiness

So they say anyway. I may have just made that up as well.

I am sorry dear readers for my inconsistency this last few weeks, real life has been a challenge and WoW is also causing me struggles.

First RL – I am generally just home later these days and given how early we are awake in the morning it is just struggle city to get motivation for more than dinner and bed. This has not been helped with recent transport issues and delays on my line causing me to get home even later than usual. My anger levels have been spiking. Mixed with some medical things and it all just means “no” to game time mentally.

Secondly – WoW.  Long time readers of mine will know i adore Warcraft and Blizzard. I very rarely complain about xpacs overall and how the game is developing but this xpac is getting pretty close to Drainor for me. When I get home with my total hour of free time before bed, I cannot justify logging on to do one thing which takes 30-40 minutes and know that isn’t really getting me any closer to achieving anything.

Perfect example a few nights ago our group decided to run a mythic (I worked from home) so whilst we were waiting for Michael to eat, Drew and I jumped online to kill the weekly boss – which should have taken 15 minutes max by the time you get a group happening etc.  As we killed the boss he reset or we phased or something and we had to spend another 10 minutes killing him again. Neither Drew or myself got a piece of gear out of that.  That was nearly 30 minutes gone for nothing as we were basically the first 10 in the group we had to wait for others to join.

I am time poor; I get that it is my issue, but I feel like even if I logged in every single night for 30 minutes I wouldn’t ever complete a “thing”.  Islands can’t all be completed in one session, LFR queues take 30-40 minutes for also no gear (whenever I have queued for them), the warfront takes about 40 minutes and good luck for gear on that one as well if the  370 quest isn’t up and world quests are pretty badly spaced I can only manage to get one emissary group done generally because it takes so long to get to some areas (not all I know!!)

Image result for complaining

I appreciate they have made it way more accessible for people who are time poor, but they have almost made it harder because gear is so difficult to get. I much prefer being able to save up tokens of some sort from consistent drops so I know I will be able to buy a piece in a set amount of time if nothing else has dropped for me.

All of this has combined into me just not wanting to log into game knowing I really only have limited time.   Why can’t I win the lotto and quit work to become a WoW addict proper?

Intpipomo 2018 – Part 1

So I know i said I was going to get out with my camera and force myself to take more shots. I have failed so far, however I decided to go through my older photos and see if I could find any I wanted to try and edit and post.  I have hundreds of photos (like most photographers) that never see the light of day because of small problems with them.  I have tried my best to edit images I have never posted anywhere because I figured they were crap, with the exception of 1.

This is the first batch and I plan on doing a couple more posts. Hopefully before the end of November!! EEEEP!!

You can see more of my photography, if you are interested on my facebook page.

Transmogrification Classic Last Day!!

Today is the absolute last day to get your entries in for the event! You only need to create 8 outfits – I am sure you can do that in a couple of hours.  I have faith!

If you need to here is the original post.

I have created a button for you to be able to use on your blog (if you have one), just resize to whatever you need 🙂  I will have a winner button created once we have announced.

I want to make sure we get the judging complete before the Whomper pet disappears as I think it is a brilliant pet in support of a great cause for STEM, you can read about it here.

You are still able to donate prizes if you want to help out, that way we can provide more prizes, and who doesn’t want to get a prize?

I can’t wait to get into the judging!!

Transmogrification Classic is at the midway point!!!

The competition closes on the Saturday 17th November 2018.  Make sure you get all your outfits to me before that time to ensure you are not disqualified forever and out of the running for a cute (Or nightmare looking!!) in game pet or mount from the Blizzard store.

Please help spread the word by sharing, commenting, liking and linking this post as you only have one more week to complete this challenge.

Send the files to my gmail account of onyxiia. Please name them something similar to Dragonray_Cataclysm_Mage.

Here is my mage with my all time favourite Arcanist Robes 🙂

Basic Rules

Intpipomo 2018

Intpipomo is one of those things I never seem to know how to get in on and it frustrates me as I only ever know about it after the fact.  Not this year my wonderful readers!!  No, this year I am only  few days behind and I have even registered thanks to seeing this post on twitter which lead me to Gamer Girl Confessions who is running it this year.

I have always appreciated the writing event and whilst it isn’t really my thing, taking 50 pictures over a month is certainly something I can handle.

So what are the rules:

  • Take the icon (original size 500×500) and use it on your site! (If you want, it’s not required!)
  • Link back to the original post so folks know where to go and what to do.
  • Aim to post fifty (50) images of your own creation/taking throughout the month of November.
    • There is no strict posting schedule or theme to adhere to, but feel free to bounce ideas off of fellow participants!
    • Feel free to post these images as a once-a-week batch, or throughout the week in small doses.
  • Use the #IntPiPoMo hastag when you share your blog posts via social media.

That is it. Post 50 pictures that I have taken and they can be of anything. I am adding an extra challenge condition of them being RL photographs to help me get back into my photography. I have needed a boost of motiviation and this will be it.

Let me know if you are doing it as well!!! I am so freaking excited that I remembered this year, I am off to go and my camera and find something to photograph.

The Transmogrification classic is now open!!!

The classic demo is now live and so is the competition!

You can send me all your entries in one hit or in groups if you like. Whatever is easiest for you 😉

Send the files to my gmail account of onyxiia. Please name them something similar to Dragonray_Cataclysm_Mage.

Competition ends Saturday 17th November – get sharing/commenting and most importantly transmogging!!

Basic Rules

  • No more than 1 tier piece in each transmog outfit allowed. Just 1 of either head/chest/shoulder.
  • You must be able to wear the item, so if you are doing a mage tier, you can’t have a shield.
  • You do not need to do wrists/cloak/pants (if wearing a skirt)/tabards. They are optional.

Shared topic 42: What is your favourite role and why?

This week’s topic from Z and Cinder is a nice one:

Do you love being the shield that protects your group, or the damage dealer that melts the mobs before you or the healer at the back shaking your head at the people standing in fire and giving you something to do?

We’d also love to hear from you if you play a different MMO or one that’s not built on the WoW trio model.

I find it hard to choose between tanking and DPS.  I adore playing caster DPS and doing damage with spells. I like being able to burn, freeze, lightening and thunder my way through mobs.  I love collecting massive amounts of mobs and then AOEing them down. I feel powerful and awesome.  Any type of RP game I play I fall back onto playing a range caster – mage/wizard/sorcerer etc. Anything which allows me to just kill things. I like big spells with big numbers.

I temper that with my complete love of tanking. Mainly Guardian Druid form because I am bright purple and brilliant and who doesn’t love a bright purple bear saving them from destruction?  I tanked briefly through another raid period..maybe Ulduar? and I liked it then as well but the stress levels are way higher than DPS. If you miss a cooldown it could be the end of the raid or group but that is the limit of the stress. I never really struggled to get and maintain aggro, I always seemed to manage to pick up mobs easily enough, however my issue has always been learning to control my urges when tanking different things.  Tanking Mythics+ is different to raiding and I kept going into raiding and burning my cooldowns as though I was in Mythics+.  It caused issues when I needed a CD and I didn’t have one – I got better once I got my brain on board, but that was always highly stressful for me.

I would still be tanking except I cannot raid Wednesday and it would be unfair to the guild to try and keep that spot so I went boomy and raid Fridays only. One night of raiding kills me given it is mostly just a wipe night for me. I am not really getting the joy and satisfaction from it.

Screw Healing. You are all crazy. No way. Nope.Z

Guild meetup

We organised a guild meet up the weekend of PAX and I hadn’t expected 17 people to actually show up!! I organised for Hofbrauhaus to host us, it is oktoberfest after all and I thought it would be good to have a nice relaxing dinner before PAX festivities.

Unfortunately I didn’t realise they would be having a live band or that the music would be so loud you couldn’t hear yourself think. What is with restaurants being so loud these days?

Dinner was amazing, some people ordered wursts, some schnitzels and a few of us ordered sharing platters – it said 2/3 people could share but I would say 3/4 in all honesty.

I ordered a pretzel which was so good I ate it before taking a picture of it 🙂 it was so good. I am drooling just thinking about it.

Here are some pictures of the gang chilling and hanging out 🙂

we headed to a pub after dinner which we hoped was a little quieter but it was so quiet we felt we would be out of place so we moved to a club called “the carlton”.

Decor was boudoir-goth-dark. We went all the way up 6 flights of stairs to the rooftop bar to be told it was closed and we had walk all the way back down.

We chilled out in the outdoor section because it was so hot in the actual club. I forgot to take any photos, but it was also really dark.

I hope everyone had an awesome night and I cannot believe how awesome this picture is that Ash made! Just look how brilliant it is! It is based on the group shot we took out the front of the Hofbrauhaus!

It was so cool to put faces to names and actually meet people. The thing about meet ups like this is that you already know each other and have jokes and stories so there isn’t a feeling of weirdness (imho). I had so much fun. I can’t put into words how much fun.

Welcome…to the Transmogrification Classic!

Do you remember your entire WoW Journey? Did you start at Vanilla, or did you join during the earth shattering Cataclysm?  It doesn’t matter when or how you came to be part of the history of Azeroth, it matters only that you had a journey!

In conjunction with the release of the playable demo for World of Warcraft *Classic* at Blizzcon I am running a competition to pay homage to the world I have adored since 2005!

Starting at Vanilla/Classic, then moving through the expansions, you will design an outfit based on one piece of tier gear from that time.   The catch?  You can only use the head/shoulder or chest piece as the base for that outfit.

But what about BfA – we don’t have tier gear!?!?!  That is why your final transmog will be to battle it out in horde vs alliance style and give me the best faction outfits you can create – no restrictions 🙂

Basic Rules:

  • No more than 1 tier piece in each transmog outfit allowed. Just 1 of either head/chest/shoulder.
  • You must be able to wear the item, so if you are doing a mage tier, you can’t have a shield.
  • You do not need to do wrists/cloak/pants (if wearing a skirt)/tabards. They are optional.
  • Send the files to my gmail account of onyxiia. Please name them something similar to Dragonray_Cataclysm_Mage.
  • All items of gear must be included in your email for the outfits so we can check them over.
  • Judging will be scoring all outfits from 1-8 for each collection. Highest wins the expansion and most overall wins get the main prize!
  • Classic, Burning Crusade, Wrath of the Lich King, Cataclysm, Warlords of Draenor, Mists of Pandaria, Legion, Battle for Azeroth (faction) outfits must all be entered.
  • Registration is open now – comment or email me to let me know you are in.
  • Competition opens Saturday 3rd November (BLIZZCON WEEKEND!!!) and ends Saturday 17th November.
  • Winners announced mid-December.

Prize!

A mount or pet from the online store.

If you have them all, we will work out something else never fear!!

Transmog Competition – Update!

Since my previous post about running a transmog competition was so well received  I have decided to actually think about it a little more and I am currently in the process of organising all the behind the scenes details!  It is going to go live very soon 🙂 (Maybe even this weekend!)

I am currently organising/looking for the following:

Judges – I have myself and Drew and the moment. (Yes, I managed to rope him into it!!) But if anyone else would like to help judge instead of enter the competition I would love it!!  I would ideally like 1 more person so we have an odd number.

Prize Donations – I am going to be buying the winner a pet or mount from the store but would love other prizes to be able to give the runner ups.  So if you feel so inclined hit me up with details of what you are willing to give away!

Logo/Name – I have a name for the competition and I will be begging Drew to do the logo for me this weekend. If we get that done I will announcing it!

Shares/likes/comments – Spread the word far and wide 🙂

I will post more details either this weekend or early next week, so please stay tuned and start getting your Transmog add-ons updated :p

Shared Topic 41: Why do you play your faction?

What a question to ask of us in this overly sensitive time 🙂  Z and Cinder coming up with the goods this time.

Why do you play your faction?

Are you a die-hard Hordie or did you join the Alliance and never looked back, or are you a swinger?

We’d love to know what it is that made you pick the faction you did, and what keeps you there. For those of you who play both factions if you can’t pick your favourite,  tell us what’s special for each side!

We went alliance when we started playing because our friend who got us hooked (Thanks Shane for the 13 year addiction) was alliance. So if we wanted to play with him we had no choice.

Drew wanted to be a Tauren from day 1 though, so he was fighting against his inner horde I think.  I went human because I had no idea what I was doing and didn’t think I would ever actually stick to that first mage character.  She ended up being my main until the end of Legion when I switched to my Druid.    I make no complaints about those early days being alliance because Sian and Michael would not be friends now had we not been in the same guild, Koli and Dreddly would not be friends now had we not started the alliance guild with Shane and we wouldn’t have met Ben and Oui (via Sian and Michael).  All those friendships mean more to me than any faction possibly could.

I love playing horde. I love the stories and the honour, however my biggest beef ( no pun intended) is that nothing is nice to look at everything is red and spiky and harsh, which seems against some of the race lore. But meh you do what you do.

I would likely be alliance if I was the type to really want to be one faction or the other because I would have only Draenai characters and I would be an even bigger Jaina fangirl than I am now. Ultimately I will likely stay horde because I just don’t want to move toons away from the guild I am in now. I love this guild so much, the people are awesome and my friends are here.

LOKTAR O’GAR!

Running with Zeirah

Yes, the famous one 🙂  I knew her before she became famous, that makes our friendship real right?  HAHAHHA

Zeirah has a blog which is how I met her, when I came back to the game a while ago, we discovered our blog names were soooooo close.  I sent her a message just to let her know because I thought it was cool that someone came up with a very similar blog name, but I was more concerned people would think she was me and I didn’t want her having to put up with that sort of confusion. Getting a reader base is hard enough in such a niche thing without people thinking it was me and not engaging with her.

Suffice it to say we have been friends since 🙂 She is awesome so go past and check out her blog if you haven’t read it!

Due to one of her posts recently where she was lamenting the loss of group content that wasn’t a PUG or LFR, I decided to start trying to wrangle her into our runs.  The first of course being a couple of mythics. I point out again, Michael, was unavailable.  I mean this time the excuse was some sort of dinner for one of their good friends…I mean what is that?!?!?!  How dare they have friends outside of WoW!! It was a perfect opportunity for me to pull Zeirah in with us and have a run around.

We pulled in Matty, poor Orkrist to help us DPS. Motherlode made me laugh so hard. I warned Zeirah that we usually went down the left side of the instance and she stuck left. Pulled mobs from behind houses, pulled mobs to the side, pulled mobs everywhere.  It was hilarious.  She moves a lot as a healer, which is fine except for this instance. She started swearing towards the end of the run when it happened but I almost had tears from laughing so hard. I was calling out for her to move to the left or right to avoid mobs and it was almost always too late….ahahhaha

Matty kept dying because he was standing in stuff, pulling aggro (not deliberately) and just being in the wrong spot at the wrong time.  I would have hated to see his repair bill.  It was such a fun run though.

So much fun we decided to head to Underrot as well – suckers for punishment if you ask me.  At one point we all died except Zeirah who was being attacked by one mob she ran halfway through the instance to meet us coming back in just so we could save her.  Must be great when you are actually a good healer –  to be able to survive when taking damage, unlike some other people attempting to heal.   We pulled so many extra mobs in here as well, the first couple of pulls on the ramps being super bad – but we can only put that down to Drew for a change.  I make sure to get a few food “gg tank” comments in there.  He spent the entire last xpac telling me the same when we wiped….lol

I don’t think we got any great gear but it was fun to just be running around and having a laugh.

Transmog comp – I have an idea!

So I have another idea for an awesome transmog competition which would be less work than my Mog the World competition, but would still require a fair amount of effort on the parts of myself and the transmoggers.  I envisioned this as a homage to the new classic server experience and have it running until Blizzcon or the actual release date of the classic servers (not sure yet).

What is the blogosphere like, do we still love transmog competitions? Would I get more than 1 person partaking in an multi-part thing?  It would be relatively simple…in theory….or I should say in my head it seems easy.

Is anyone running competitions anymore?  I used to love being in them as you can tell from my competition menu above, so would love to get something happening.  I could donate a mount or pet from the Blizz store for the winner and runner up….

The idea: You would need to make an outfit from every expansion using only the gear as it would have been if you were playing.  So for example for the Wrath of the Lich King outfit you could use Vanilla/BC/Wrath gear only and for a BFA outfit you could use everything currently available.   I was going to select random themes for each xpac similar to the Trial of Style format.

Because I don’t want to people to have to do 8 outfits (although that would be awesome) I was thinking you had to do like 4 of the 8 to compete.

Talk to me people, what do we think?

Shared Topic 40: Getting to know you

Oh, I am likely to read all these ones!! I love finding out about the people behind the blogs!

The current topic from Z and Cinder is as follows:

Topic 39: What’s on your to-do list for BfA?

Z and Cinder bring us another topic for the fortnight and I honestly don’t know how well I will cope with this one.

Battle for Azeroth has been out for a few weeks now and while it’s still early days, there’s a lot of content for us to gobble up. What’s already made it to your to-do list to get through in the next couple of months or even next couple of years? We’ll check back at the end of the year, like we did in our Legion post, and see if your plans are still on track or have shifted slightly.  I know I have a massive to-do list already, so we’d love to see yours!

For our topic this week we are asking you –

What’s on your To-Do List for BFA?

Wow, so many things, just too many!!

  • Battle Safari (I have maybe 4 pets at the moment).
  • Pathfinder One (and Two when it is released)
  • Reputation/Questchain for honourbound reputation so I can open the Siege of Boralus dungeon. (Sloooooow going!!)
  • Level my Mage
  • Level Alchemy/Tailoring on my mage and Enchanting/Engineering on my pally/fishing and cooking on my druid.
  • Complete the Legion dungeon/raid achievements for mounts
  • Chase down some leather druid gear for trial of styles (I have so few items to use)
  • Complete some of the gear sets on my mage ( I have about 8 sets in which I missing single or double items only)
  • Level or boost an alliance toon to experience the story line from their side.
  • Level more of my battle pets to 25
  • Try the warfronts (still haven’t done the opening thing yet).
  • Mythics/Raiding

Topic 38: How do you level in Battle for Azeroth?

Z and Cinder bring us another interesting topic this week which you can find here.

Do you go about things your own way, taking quests as they come? Do you focus on just the main storyline? Do you go as fast as you can to get to maximum level, story be damned? Or are you the type of person who needs to clear every single quest from the map? Horde first, or Alliance? And in particular, have you changed anything about the way you level in Battle for Azeroth? If so, why?

I love levelling. Part of what I love about the game is the quests. The stories, the jokes in the quest text.  It makes it enjoyable for me and I could, if I am being truly honest, just spend the rest of my days doing levelling quests.  I don’t like questing with no reward – just doing it for money or rep. That is boring as heck.  I do wonder if a never ending levelling experience would really be that great.  Do I enjoy it because it does end?

Since BC, Moryrt and I have levelled together.  We take leave, we spend every minute online levelling and doing things together. It makes killing easier and ensures faster completion (in most cases) of farming quests.  I like to read everything the first time round so I can ignore them on the next toon and just whizz through.  I am a fast reader though and it can seem like i am not reading the text at the time.  Thank god the map has little blue circles for where you need to be or I might kill some of the people I have levelled with over the years who just get the quest and immediately ask what they need to do!  LOL

Since flying became tied to the loremaster and exploration achievements we don’t leave a zone until we have those complete and we ignore any other side quests until  we see that golden achievement flare.  At max level we come back for the extra cash and do side quests etc. It is simple but effective and ensures we are getting through the Pathfinder things.

I always levelled my mage first, this has been the very first xpac I haven’t. I levelled my druid first and I feel amazingly guilty about it.  I have started my mage but time factors will mean she takes a while to get done I think.  I had hoped to spend my weeks leave doing that but other things have kept me out of the game more than in.  You could say I am super annoyed about that in general.

Voila max level ding, we dance then start the long slog to heroics, gearing, raiding, world quests and whatever else Blizzard has changed about the game 🙂
