I finally had some time and motivation to jump online and do the continuation of the quest line in Silithus.
Mithraic and my druid headed over to the sword sticking out of Azeroth’s poor heart and I was, once again, greatly impressed with the size of this weapon. It really is a very terrifying visage!
All the corruption and red tendrils of hatred or whatever was spewing out.
It felt good to be part of stopping it with all the other champions of Azeroth. I am not sure how we will survive this. Each of us having to fill our weapons with corruption, seems like a bad idea imho. Are we all going to turn into angry beasts bathing in the blood of the alliance?
I admit to liking the effect it has on my claws – look how powerful I have become. I look invincible.
ROAR!!!! I am a bear after all. My roar should cause corruption to spew forth so I can kill my enemies even faster. I guess technically that is what happens when your artifact power is going crazy and not stopping from increasing in power.
I now have all the power!!
I also completed this on my mage, I had thought I had done the first part of the questing already but hadn’t. So it was nice to complete on her. I might see if hubby wants to do this on the demon hunters as well.
I don’t know what to do with myself now, we stopped the corruption and we just have to wait for BfA to start so we can see what happens and how the story begins. I am in the process of organising my annual leave from work, I am only going to take a week but I am going to make that week work. I would be wrapped if I can get both my druid and my mage levelled in that time. That is my plan anyway, similar to my bucket list of fail, I am not sure how I will go.
A few weeks ago I saw posts going around about people’s bucketlists and I have watched multiple videos about the topic since the release date of BfA was announced.
So I thought I should actually gather my thoughts and post one so I can refer to and sucker my friends in to help me 😀 [*hint*] [*hint*]
Brawler’s Guild – DONE!
Awake the Drakes – Got one less to go – still need 2 more!
Glory of the Dragon Soul Raider
– Chromatic Champion
Chromie Scenario/Reputation – attempted once – couldn’t figure it out. Mage Tower challenge – Screw that place to the pits of hell!
Collect pets on Argus
Make 5 million gold – Started – HA! Mind Wyrm – DONE!
Pandaria/Legion achievements – started chasing
Forgotten hippogryph – got to 4 out of 5 stones at least 3 times now. Over 10 hours searching.
Finish my Firelands legendary.
There you go – that is my list. I would like to get it all completed beforehand but I suspect I might be pushing it. Let’s see how we go, most of them are on my mage as she has the highest rep count and achievements. What are you working on trying to get done?
I have – for months – ported into the “Dreamwalk” and wondered what the heck I was seeing with the emote of hearing something from the other portals. I remember asking in guild what they were for and Nelly (as always) with the wealth of knowledge advised it was for the hidden artifact appearance.
That was a long while ago and I had only managed to find two stones in the months since that conversation.
I dreamwalked the other day and finally got the third one – in the Hinterlands. It took me close to 50 minutes to find the stone with the little paw print on it. I eventually had to get the co-ordinates and add them to my Handy notes to search for them; I was flying around in circles for what felt like an eternity. It was ridiculous. It was the third handy note I added to the map of the 15 I added.
Once you find the third stone you head back to the dreamwalk and find the following guy just chilling.
You walk up to him and he doesn’t do anything, turns out you need to sit down in front of him, then he gives you the item and walks off. I walked with him for a but but he just faded away. You end up basically looking like him when you use the item – i think it is a gorgeous skin.
But of course that wasn’t good enough for me – surely there has to be another awesome colour, I headed to my tree and would you believe it!! (I certainly didn’t!) There is a purple kitty as well!!! The hidden one has some lovely colour variants but there are so many gorgoies looking kitties, I wish I had checked sooner to be honest 🙂
Squeeeee!!! Purples all around!!
I am now a purple bear and a purple kitty! Although whilst researching for this post I found a kitty in the same spectral purple as the bear!! That is hot! It requires the mage tower challenge….I have pretty ok gear now – maybe I can complete them 🙂
On the back of our very first guest post by Pracey, I thought I would write about my brawling experience the other night. I had started the brawl guild a few weeks ago and managed to get stuck on rank 2 or something. My intention was to get it done before xpac hits and thanks to a video we were watching, Drew and I remembered to jump back in, so that is what we did the other night.
Can you even see my tiny little blood elf next to his huge chest? I snuck this picture whilst he was waiting to go in. We actually did really well. I got stuck on a couple of bosses, the worst one being the fire guy. Drew also got stuck on this one for a few attempts. Stupidly RNG with the ball spawns but you just need to get the right combination and voila death to the infidel!
I cannot suggest enough, if you attempt to do the Brawler’s Guilde check out Wowhead’s guide on it. It is brilliant and I have used it every season. You can find it here. It lists everything neatly and easily with the relevant information easy to find. I use it between fights to know what is coming up next. Yup, you can flick between it and the game that quickly. Definitely use it.
I was chatting to Ben and telling him it was a great way to improve on your character as you have to be able to move, do burst damage and be aware within 2 minutes and was a bit of fun. He joined us later and was smashing the first few bosses before 30 seconds had even passed. This is him in action. I do love the spectator option. I would love something like that for raiding 😀
The three of us were just cheering each other on and having a laugh. I managed to get to the last boss, which I found difficult as I have only done Hellfire Citadel once (I think) and barely remember the content. All the attacks are based on bosses from that raid. I got it down after a few attempts learning what things needed to be focused on at each point – I think maybe 3 in total? It really helps that we out gear the brawls quite significantly now.
I am King of the guild now! Why not Queen? I have no idea…but I will take it! We came back in the next night to complete the rest of Drew’s bosses and whilst he was doing that I was doing random fights for the achievement (and shirts). I have so many damn shirts now! I have a few extra from that picture as I did even more than the anticipated 10 for the achievement. I can’t wait for the next Trial of Style to rock around!
I went and grabbed my mount and pet, plus the heirloom. I actually quite like the basilisk movement, but will need to actually ride it more and see if I could handle it long term.
It sort of has this S-motion with it’s body and tail when it walks. Maybe it will be motion sickness inducing actually…lol. Honestly for not much effort you could get another mount and pet if you are a collector. It took us basically a couple of hours on 2 nights to get to the last boss and I would say there are 3-4 that might take you more than 2-3 of attempts at most.
I still need one more achievement which requires 2 more rumbles, so will try and get them over this coming weekend but it is highly dependant on other people who are in the queue and if they pay attention to what needs to occur. (The “Rumbles” are an event which every person in the queue – at the time of purchasing the token – get entered into and you have to collectively do different things). Likely would be easier with a group of friends on discord so you can warn/coordinate.
You probably won’t believe this, but I am still chasing dragons for the Awake the Drake achievement. Given my love of all things dragon, it pains me, it hurts. Deep inside.
I have been “regularly” chasing down 2 of them – Onyxia and Malygos. I have wanted Onyxia as a mount since the first time I saw her. So long ago now. I wouldn’t even be able to tell you when, sometime in 2005. I remember the first time I walked into her dungeon and came down the ramp and saw her. I was so enamoured of her size. Once again the raids in Vanilla felt epic – they had scale. Size. Dominance. Maybe it was because I was a noob and everything was exciting to me, including having to farm her to make the Onyxia scale cloak for BWL. (Which I still have in my bank).
So I headed to Malygos and saw an item be added to my appearance list (or so i thought). [sarcastic woo] which when I actually read it turned out to be a goddamn dragon!
I just scored the Reins of thee Azure Drake! I may or may not have started dancing excitedly. I was cursing out how long it had taken, so I decided to check and then felt decidedly ashamed.
Yeah…only 10 times according to my stats. Not entirely sure these are accurate as I am certain I have killed it more times than that….but…um….yeah….I can only go off the information and I think that is a pretty good drop chance based on my experience. Maybe I don’t kill it as regularly as I imagine…
Onyxia is proving to be slightly more difficult.
So my current tally with the drakes is almost there. I am terrified of doing Dragonsoul because I can’t solo the spine encounter but i don’t want to go with anyone else because then I will not win it if it drops (Statistically speaking whenever I am in a group and a mount has a chance to drop 90% of the time it will with 99% of those times it being won by other people – the only time it has not occurred is when I won the Swift Zulian Panther).
If people are keen to do Dragonsoul with me I am more than happy to do it. I will literally cry if it drops though and I don’t win it…LOL. But here is the gorgeous Azure. What is your next big mount chase?
Dragonray/elle suggested I do some Brawlers Club tonight so I could learn to stop going into panic mode and hammering buttons that are on cooldown constantly, however at the time I was doing some… what’s the name of that place where the Sunwell raid is? (Isle of Quel’d’nas?) – I was doing that at the time, getting some rep and trying to complete a transmog set. Still not there with either.
Aaanyway, later on I finally turned up and although I didn’t realise straight away that I was standing next to them – lo and behold both Mithraic and Dragonray were present:
I did some Brawlers Guild ages back on Tardin, my Shadow Priest (he has tentacles guys – tentacles!), and remember being really pissed off and frustrated so I hadn’t been here in a few years. After Mithraic and Dragonray left for real-life stuff like food and sleep I discovered that this Brawlers thing gets harder. I got up to some bit with ghostly Pandaren floating around the place and blue squares on the floor. It didn’t go well.
I mostly enjoyed watching other people get their arses handed to them, occasionally remembering to take a screenshot:
Level 1 feels about right in terms of difficulty. After all, I did almost get one-shot by a penguin (hello Lay on Hands!), but hey – who hasn’t had that happen to them?
This was a short night, but I did get a cheevo (what the cool kids call achievements, or so I’m told) for my first Brawl. Colour me disappointed that I didn’t get another each time I was successful.
Finally, after getting my butt into gear, I got my 70 reputation achievement.
This makes me super proud. I know it isn’t all that exciting for some, but that is a lot of work and a lot of hours spent grinding and farming. Maybe that is actually depressing? LOL
Panser from Trade chat spoke to a dev recently who said they are finally going to update these sort of achievements and put the next levels of collection in. This just means I will have to go back to Drainer and finish those reputations at some point.
I am not looking forward to that at all. I hated that place so much you can even tell by my lack of reputation. Sadly without WoWjuju reputation calculator live anymore (anyone know a replacement?) I can’t be bothered to work out how many actual hours this will take me to complete, but that alone is 8 more reps I could count.
Legion is my focus for the moment though as I already have some at exalted and am not far off for some others.
That is another 6 I could complete with current content and just by doing dailies and emissaries it really wouldn’t take long. I hadn’t realised I was with Revered with most of them already. That really won’t take a lot of effort.
I am complete for Pandaria (do the individuals count to the total I wonder or just “The Tillers?”), I am complete for Wrath, Cataclysm and BC. Classic WoW I have a fair few done, however I need to fix my rep with the goblins. I was at one stage attempting to get the insane title, but gave up after getting the Bloodsail. By which point my rep was destroyed and repairing it probably really wouldn’t take that much effort, I just need to actually do it. That would also give me another 4 reps
I miss the days where rep grinding was aided with dungeon running/tabards. I think that is still a pretty solid way to keep content being used and allow you to get reputation whilst doing other things with friends instead of having to pick and choose dungeons over world questing time. Especially now with Mythics you could make the reputation gains just slightly better capping at like mythic 5 or something.
Is chasing reputation even worth it? Do you care about reputations?
I had a free night and decided to just have some fun for me. I was PMSing and completely over everyone and everything so just wanted to mess around.
I decided to start completing the old raids that show as incomplete in my armory. I had thought I had completed more, but I guess over time I forget which toons I have taken where. No idea how people keep up with multiple alts to be honest.
I started with Sunwell. We had just started this when it was current but never even got the first boss down before it was time to move on. So whilst I had done some of the bosses since in random PUG’s I had never actually gone to the end.
I can say I have killed Kil’Jaeden. Right proper now. An achievement and all! I didn’t have issue with any boss or mechanic so I felt like I was 40 levels higher :p
I headed to Heroic Trial of the Grand Crusader as I apparently needed the 2 bosses in the middle. I have done this raid so many times (I thought heroic) that I was so surprised this was on my list. I did score some new achievements but it really only took about 15 to get through it all and most of that was me forgetting to talk to the guy to start the next even. OMG Blizzard…soooooo annoying.
So those to bring me up to date with all the old content and I now have to work on Mists of Pandaria (where I took my first big break) and catch up on basically all the raids. I have all the LFR’s done so I clearly did some of the content. Most of the rest is muddled with half raids and no normals.
So I started with Mogu’shan Vaults which I needed in normal mode. I swear I have done this raid so many times on my mage, but I can only assume it was in heroic? No idea – I might have to check my stats when I am in game next time. No pictures because I have done it so many time.
Then I headed to Terrace of Endless Spring.
I remember doing the first 3 in the past and I honest to god know I have done the Sha, but I do not – for the life of me – remember doing that room at all.
I forgot about Tsulong and after the first boss ran up the stairs… I did remember when I saw Lei Shi inactive that there was a second boss I needed to kill. I even remembered to stand in the yellow spot. Lei Shi was “difficult” it just took so long to do enough damage to her. The Sha killed me 3 times and on my “I am giving up after this if I die again” attempt, I managed to kill it. I was struggling with the spawns that attack when there was multiple – as I just couldn’t get them both for whatever reason. Eventually I smashed it in the face. This one took me the longest I think.
Then I headed to Heart of Fear. This is how I spent most of my time in there.
I know I have been here, I vaguely remember it. I have done it on LFR. Clearly I know bits of it. I was so confused and lost and just trying to kill things with high damage and not worry about mechanics. That basically worked and I only died on the last boss once because I got feared was being attacked from behind and on Amber Shaper because I didn’t kill the add when it spawned and it did some weird thing to me which I died on. I made sure he paid for it next time.
I am hoping to get a few more knocked over before reset. I am still chasing gear off them which is why I don’t want to just go in and complete them all in a lock out. I would rather loot them in the different difficulties.
I was actually quite surprised how hard it was to kill some of the bosses in all the raids. I thought I would just walk in and smash them fast, but it actually took a long time, like my damage was just not as high. It was weird and disconcerting. I did walk away with a metric tonne of tier gear and other randoms added to my appearance tab which was fantastic, I just have to hunt down the rest of the set pieces. I might start with MC soon and work my way up as I still have pieces I need in there, maybe I can tag along with Ben if he is still doing them.
So based on my armory profile I am now sitting ok with Pandaria. Just need to get a Throne of Thunder done, likely normal since I am half way and clearing out the last of Heroic Siege of Org shouldn’t take too long.
I am really going to struggle with completing anything in Drainer. Screw that place. I also have to figure out how to get into the LFR for Hellfire. I read somewhere you speak to someone and he solo queues you. I just have to find out who and where. I know it says I have done them but I can tell you, I mostly remember Highmaul, but I quit after that raid so the other times were literally probably being dragged through by people.
That is going to be fun to get complete.
Which brings us to legion. Where I have done nothing on my mage and it is mostly on my Druid. But it feels weird not having my mage complete it so I will work on completing the LFR’s whilst they are still available and ewasy to get into and I might try and PUG the other stuff or just wait until we are 3 xpacs ahead and I am 109 still playing :p
Another year older and another year addicted to my favourite game.
I wish there was something you could do in game on your birthday which gave you a random mount or pet based on the ones missing from your collection. Like a spin the wheel or once off mini boss dungeon.
I have plans this weekend to have dinner with some of the best people I have ever known at such a hyped up restaurant (Mjolner) I am losing my mind in excitement.
It is also Drew’s birthday in 7 days so the dinner is for both of us to celebrate! I plan on taking photos but I also plan on drinking so it may not happen.
I have one of my presents already which is a kickstarter for one of my favourite books Green Rider. I am so excited and happy. The second present is apparently a million times better but is late for arrival. I have no idea what it is but Drew says it is amazing.
I hope you all have a fantastic day I know I will be just chilling out 🙂
Or gentle…either way I can’t believe this at all. I had simply put this into the pile of things I might get done eventually but was giving up on actually believing it would happen.
Craig messaged me a couple of days ago trying to convince me to come on a run and get myself carried for the timed 15.
I am not usually a huge fan of being carried – it feels like I cheapen the experience. I thought I would be DPS as they were trying to get someone called Scud to tank. Also a bear. Apparently epic. Anyway because I tanked instead (Scud didn’t respond) and contributed to the actual completion of the mythic, I have shifted posts around because I am too excited to not post sooner! I was part of the group rather than just a carry! Boo-ya!
Craig pulled a group together which consisted of Lauralin (my little purple battle pet), Angeleus and Confliction from his guild on Dath. Someone had a level 16 Upper Kara key so of course that sounded like the perfect plan…for some people. I think Upper might be easier than lower but honestly so hard to tell when the DPS in the group steals aggro within half a second, especially with skittish affix. It was so damn difficult. I have never used my taunt on CD as part of my rotation before – it was so hard – even with a head start…<shame>
I actually wasn’t sure were going to make it just because when you watch the timer tick down and it builds the pressure. I am not kidding – I stood up after we finished and I had sweat pouring down my back – I was so excited and nervous. I think we only had 8 deaths in total. Pretty sure that makes a fair difference to our usual 30 – 40 on level 13-14 mythics 🙂
The guys were pretty funny and the language…yeah a little more over the top than my guild but I was laughing my butt off. I like being able to just fuck around on voice when doing runs – but I have a feeling not everyone appreciates it. Although we didn’t pull out the C word (which I was fully expecting based on what Craig has told me).
Thanks to the guys above – you were fantastic and thank you for putting up with my lower tanking skill/gear. The tears in my eyes were legitimately forming out of appreciation.
So many people were involved in me being able to get this purple bear, I had tears in my eyes I was so happy! Thanks to everyone involved prior to this latest part – Drew, Michael, Ben, Oui, Nelly, Fred, Simon, Craig, Aaron, Lana and Nathan and the rest of the guild for all the mythics, raiding and gear upgrades.
You guys are the absolute team and I appreciate it so much.
I feel pretty happy knowing I tanked a level 16 mythic, definitely wasn’t expecting to be able to get through it especially with the affixes. I know I have tanked all of Heroic Antorus so I should feel more capable but you know I am self conscious.
I cannot preface this post enough to explain how everything that follows stems from a deep sadness at being misled by Blizzard at a time that should have been amazing.
I do not see the silver lining on this.
We were going to run some mythics for the weekly quest however Michael was eating dinner; instead of harassing him to masticate faster we took the opportunity to jump into Nighthold and get the last of the shards I needed for Balance of Power.
I only needed 4, so we wrangled an elite squad of death and destruction which included Simon, Brian, Fred, Ben, Drew, Michael and myself. The guys were fantastic for coming along and helping me get the last few shards. I cannot thank them enough. Michael didn’t arrive until later, so in the interim I switched to healing. Bad idea. I couldn’t find the spell which put the green circle on the ground, I had to manually select people then the spell, and I was basically just clicking things in the hopes they would light up.
I am not a very good healer. I didn’t even have Brez on my bars…had to do that on the fly when Drew needed a rez before tanking the second add. It was a disaster! Then Michael came online and I was so freaking excited!
After handing in then killing Guldan for his eyeballs, I went off excitedly to hand in my quest but the chain continued. So I delayed that to help Fred in Emerald Nightmare with the rest of the group to obtain the last of his corrupted essence. We tried Ursoc again for the hidden artifact – which Simon got!!! We tried for Michael’s hidden one off the dragons and Ben needed something off the eyeball.
Once that was complete I headed back to my quest chain, flew to Moonhold and received all the power!! I was so excited because this meant I was going to get my purple bear!
We start off with this horrid green bear :p after receiving all the power.
I have improved history by doing the longest quest chain in game. It probably isn’t but my god, it certainly feels like it is.
I ported directly back to my class hall and my tree to switch to purple. This is what greeted me.
It was locked? LOCKED?!?!?!? I have – as per the notes on the tool tip – “Completed a Mythic mode Dungeon using a level 15 keystone” AND I had just completed “Balance of power”. What gives Blizzard – as your tool tip reads – I have done the requirements?
Craig suggested the other day I needed to do the 15 after having finished the quest line. Is that how you read the above? Would you not put the 15 after the quest line completion then to give it a sense of order,. would you perhaps put them in the same sentence and advise it is required to be after.
I was soo annoyed. So annoyed in fact that I almost rage quit. I had been looking forward to completing this and being purple. Instead I was convinced to to a level 15 then and there. So myself, Simon, Craig, Ben and Michael jumped into a Seat of the Triumverate 15 (which was Craig’s). It was horrific. I lost count of the deaths after about 50. I was so annoyed with the bosses and my failings as a tank – which were more to do with it being Skittish affix this week than anything else, but it was still frustrating as hell. I hate all the bosses in this instance due to past experiences so it was lovely to finally kill this piece of garbage. I hate him with a passion add that to my already simmering rage about my butt being green and not purple – I wanted to see him die.
We eventually got all the way to the last boss and Michael and I had to tank him/her/them (?) from 40% all the way to 0%.
It was the longest boss fight I have ever done, but no way in hell was I going to have to start again! I have to admit it was pretty funny. Michael even posted it on youtube to watch if you want to have a laugh. I would speed it up if you can though as it is just long :p
Thanks so much to the guys for being dragged through a horrific level 15! You were – as always – awesome!
So I headed back to my tree to get me some purple butt! This greeted me again! ARE YOU FREAKING KIDDING ME!!!???!
The conclusion can only be made that it has to be a timed 15. Where is heck does it say timed? For more casual players like me – completing a 15 is hard enough without adding it needing to be timed. When I say hard enough – the two level 15’s I have done have taken over an hour and a half with over 40 deaths – I am so far away from the timer that getting to the end is a massive success in of itself. It isn’t like I am finding this easy you know. Had I known it was a timed 15 I would have just never started on this mission to have it purple. I probably wouldn’t have even completed the Balance of Power. The tooltip should reflect the actual requirements. I still “completed” a 15 when we missed timers and I got the achievement – that says it is complete. Why am I not purple!!! Why would you do this to people.
I am so angry. I am writing this post a few days later (to calm down) and it has made me angry again. I don’t even want to contemplate having to try and do a timed 15. I can’t even get a 15 key to do it? Our mythic group is still at level 13’s with sometimes upgrading a key by one. We haven’t managed to do a 14 yet in timed mode. I have until August I guess if I can be bothered. I am just so depressed about the entire thing. Hashtag devastated.
The illustrious Nelly’s raid for my nightshards was a pretty resounding success. Apparently my terrible drop rate was unusual and I should have gotten more. Well they dropped in the raid. Every boss gave me something – thankfully.
I am extremely grateful to this group of people for coming along and helping me smash through this raid. I cannot express the good feels I have at the moment. We smashed through the first 5 bosses without any issue. Somehow managed to kill Laura whilst she was eating Korean. Ben never got her to confirm if she meant a person or the food 🙂 Either way we assume it was cold because her 4 minute delivery was closer to 10 and we pulled a boss whilst she was AFK. She was killed because of our actions and on top has to endure a cold Korean…possibly…she is a demon hunter after all.
We got a couple of achievements for completing the sections which I was sure I had done these fights on LFR, but I think that may have been on my mage.
So my total tally after all the fights was 16.
The number was so high because I managed to get 2 of the Curio’s during the run which was 3 instead of 1. Not too shabby at all. So next week, I will only need to come in and kill maybe 5 bosses, jump out do the quest chain, go back and kill Gul’dan again and voila! End of chain.
Like I said, earlier I cannot thank the team enough for this. If I was pugging I am sure it would have been a nightmare, but this way we burnt through it, picked up transmog gear (did you know Nelly is like a vacuum cleaner when it comes to transmog?) and have a laugh.
We ended up going to Emerald Nightmare afterwards as people needed things in there as well. Was also a super fast run, maybe 30 minutes? Not much longer really.
We saved Tur from a horrible death and even then Ursoc could not give up his hidden appearance. BOOOOOO!!! He is holding onto it so tightly! Cenarius was funny because Ben was asking about the achievement which had something to do with Malfurion, but literally – as he finished asking the question, the boss died and the achievement popped. It is like some creepy children of the corn thing.
Brian got a legendary on his hunter, Michael didn’t get his hidden from the dragons but Nelly got her wrists for the transmog and Ben got a bunch of shards and I think Fred got some as well, Drew managed a total amount of 2. I got to show my appreciation for their attendance to the earlier one especially as Ben was not feeling well – I am surprised he managed to stay as long as he did!
I wanted to get a group shot but everyone left the raid super fast, so instead I got an awesome shot of the three ladies, Nelly, me and Lana. The hawtness in this picture is amazing! Just look at us. Hashtag Bearysexy.
I was chatting to Nelly in guild about the balance of power questline and where I was up to which brought up how I still need to complete a mythic 15 for the purple bear.
Admittedly, during that chat, I laid all the blame on our failure at the feet of our DPS. We were doing quite well initially, we had learnt what we needed to do with the class make up we had but then….all three of them changed….I mean seriously. All of them!?!?
Drew change from Shammy to Priest
Ben changed from Priest to Pally
Oui changed from Warlock to Rogue.
So I am blaming them – and I did so publicly 😀
Anyway whilst chasing meat and completing the main questline for Balance of Power, I got a whisper from Nelly requesting my Guardian services for a Mythic 15. I was pretty wrecked (friends suicide and work issues causing me so much stress right now) and wasn’t really sure I would be able to handle it. I should have trusted that instinct ;p
But we grabbed Ben and Oui and Chris (Sorry if that was wrong) and went on our way to Black Rook Hold. <shudder> I felt bad for not having Drew and Michael in the run with us, but I am hoping we can get one done next week for them, fingers crossed for a key we can do.
It wasn’t a brilliant run by any shot, I was missing my cooldowns and had no clue what was happening for most fights. At one point Chris says to me “Just go up the stairs, grab some spiders and then charge back down to us!” Simple instructions right, pretty clear. Welcome to the world where I completely screw that, forget to charge and die on the way down! YAY ME!
The Nelly saying “Remember to kite the mobs around!” and I was like…”why the heck would you do that, just stand and fight!! TAKE IT!! I have stupid amounts of HP, I can take….any…<dead> oh um.. “<shame>. They turned red, angry and 5 times their size….I didn’t die to that again…just the first time and it made so much more sense the second time.
I have no idea what the death count was in the end and I am pretty sure Ben would have made up for at last 90% of them.
But I know why the places/mobs and bosses seemed so unfamiliar to me, I clearly haven’t done it that much.
Apparently I had never done it mythic before. I know I have done it heroic so it wouldn’t be all that much different, but it made me giggle. The one I do a level 15 is the one I haven’t done. The one time we did do it, I think we did the first 5 packs and kept dying…to..something…I can’t remember but it was awful either way.
Thanks to all for coming and putting up with my fail tanking. I appreciate it. My purple glowy bear is now one massive step closer now. You have no idea how much I appreciate it.
Forever…..and ever….it feels like the longest, longest quest line to want to complete. Seriously killing my patience, but with the release of BfA dates now I have to get it done. It is like a need in me.
I have been doing a quest or to per day depending on what is required which I don’t think is soo bad.
I collected a piece and then they tried to combine it and then nearly killed me!! I mean seriously, who puts these people in positions of power?!?!
I loved the above section – just look at the artwork. Just LOOK!! Goddamn it Blizzard you guys are amazing. Adding this to my header section as well because it is just stunning.
After this I am told I have to go and kill some animals spread all over the Broken isles. Then get a plate to serve all the food on for Odyn to then make you fight his entire dungeon…I mean the dude is huge, he could have taken 4 steps and put me out of my misery immediately.
He finally gives me all the power!!
and I go on my merry way. To…The Nighthold. Kudos to Ben, Oui and Nelly for doing the baby mythics I needed to get to this stage. I figure the next part is going to hurt as I need raid bosses which is why I have been pushing to get to it as quickly as possible.
Everyone decided to give The Nighthold a try with me, which I was ecstatic about! We weren’t sure how far we would actually get through with the 4 of us, but as luck would have it, Fred jumped online and he didn’t respond to Nelly’s question of coming with us, so I just ninja invited him and woo! he accepted 😀
We burnt through 5 bosses and I got 2 Nightshards. But the 5 bosses were pretty easy really. We still needed to know some of the start involved and had I done this without Nelly and Fred I would have been dead soo quickly. They were giving me all the information!
I particularly like this achievement from killing Trillax.
It is nice to know Nighthold can be done with a 5 man group, and I suggested if people were free we maybe look at continuing tomorrow night before shut down. So we shall see how that goes. Fred also made comment about doing an alt run for all the old raids – can’t say I would complain at the moment. Especially if doing Nighthold 🙂 I am being so selfish! ahaah
Of course the part fo the night was calling Nelly a playboy bunny….but tell me it isn’t accurate? REOW!
I finally moved my demonhunter over from the alliance. I have completely forgotten how to play but it has been enjoyable trying to remember. So my guild has now snaffled my Mage, Druid, Paladin and Demonhunter.
I managed to get quite a few achievements on her with the random dungeons and questing in the first few days, but I am now wanting to get the demonhunter class mount.
Not because it is attractive mount, as far as most of them go it is bloody ugly. But it would be nice to have the storyline completed and done on all my max level characters.
Demon hunters are so much fun to play, I am super surprised we don’t have any raiding DH’s. It is half tempting to try and play one properly but at the moment I am just smooshing keys 😀 I had been sending her heaps of gear from my other characters, you know the stuff that drops for classes and is account bound and can be sent anywhere!!! woo! One of the best changes ever made imho.
Playing her though has made me think about what toon I still want to boost to 110. I really want to level my warrior because I want to see the class hall, but I have to level him through Draenor and would rather stab myself in the foot, but every other toon I have is stuck at 90 simply because of Draenor.
As part of the quest chain to get reputation with the Nightfallen, I was required to do a couple of heroics (Acway and CoS). So whilst we were waiting for Oui to come home and do some mythics, I convinced Ben and Drew to run me through the heroics. I figured we would smash them out very quickly and I could then continue with the hell called Suramar. At last check before the heroics I was 7000/12000 through honoured wondering if I really did need this glowy bear butt.
However we went to CoS, and I tried to smash through the mobs we needed so that should we get it on mythic + again we have a better idea – especially as i failed last time.
At the end of the heroic as the last boss died…my toon had a green flash and I was very confused.
I got revered!! YES!!! So I headed straight back to Suramar and got the stupid scroll needed and then grabbed the next part of the quest chain. Drew says, “Don’t you want to do the other heroics as well for rep?”I say, “No fucking way!! I got what I needed!!” LOL. I was already annoyed with Suramar for the day as I wasn’t able to hand in the quests I completed because I had to farm more ancient mana to feed the addicts. I was empty from having completed the Leylines the day before. I hate this place – have I mentioned that?
Thus begins part 10/21 which is running 3 mythics and getting items from them.
Thankfully no keys needed just mythic level. By this time Oui was home so we pulled him into the group and then tried to find a fifth. Metafor (Aaron) jumped in with us. Given this list of quests has my 2 most hated mythics we decided to start with Vault of Wardens, and you know….again, it wasn’t that bad. Ben seemed to know where to move with the light on the last boss and that made it so much easier. We even did the world quest which was the owl puzzle Start up sequence.
I have avoided it so much that I even managed to get the achievements!
I feel so proud of myself…lol….I got Ahead of the Curve before I went into VoW!
We headed to the Arcway after that to get another one completed and managed to get 2 achievements as well. I wonder if I should investigate the Dungeon achievement and see how many I have on my druid…given the amount of mythics we have been running lately.
It was pretty funny in the Arcway, as the last boss ports us back, Ben says he knows the way so I follow him Aaron says, “Are you sure?” whilst running in a different direction, with affirmative responses I continue to follow Ben who then not 3 seconds later says… “Actually I am not sure! Turn around!!” hahahaahh I couldn’t stop laughing. The scapegoat being the map which doesn’t show a door but an open corridor.
I would have liked to have completed the CoS as well but Oui was keen to actually do a keyed and I had managed to score a NL+9, so we headed off to do that as Drew was sure he could handle it. Turns out the weeks affixes are buggers. Bursting and Skittish. We smashed through that without too much issue, occasionally I would forget about the DoT and pull extra stuff and Drew would huff and me..lol….I heard it through my headphones or there would be the low level “noooo”..oops.
I actually didn’t even check what my key upgraded to, so will need to check that out today, maybe we can get a few more mythics down over the easter weekend. I am glad to have gotten through the Suramar questline though. I am just a little closer now to my goal. Thanks to everyone.
This quest is part of a comment-size guide for “Balance of Power.” questline (the last quest…finally). Quests are pretty much self-explanatory and all it takes is some time and good will to complete them. Completing this questline rewards Artifact Appearance (Appearance 3, Tint 1).
Image of Kalec appears in your Order Hall and gives you the following quest: The Power Within (Meet Archmage Kalec at Azurewing Repose in Azsuna.) Reasons behind appearance of Archmage Kalec in your Class Order Hall are not yet completely understood but most people noticed him few days after they completed their Class Campaign.
From there you take a next quest from Senegos: The Heart of Zin-Azshari (Retrieve the Heart of Zin-Azshari and defeat the Wrath of Azshara in the Eye of Azshara on Mythic difficulty.)
After completing the previous quests you receive a few new quests (exactly 3: two from Senegos and one from Archmage Kalec).
Senegos: A Vainglorious Past (Obtain a Vainglorious Draught from Veridis Fallon.)
– You can purchase Vainglorious Draught from Veridis Fallon in Crumbled Palace [46.9 , 41.4] in Azsuna for 150g (Requirement: Court of Farondis – Honored).
Fallen Power (Recover a Corrupted Essence from Oakheart and defeat the Shade of Xavius in Darkheart Thicket on Mythic difficulty.)
Archmage Kalec: Tempering Darkness (Obtain 30 Blood of Sargeras.) Should not be a problem since by the time you get that quest and if you did not spend any Blood of Sargeras you should have some stacked up simply by completing Dungeons and World Quests.
Archmage Kalec: Lucid Strength (Absorb the power from the Corrupted Essence using the Heart of Zin-Azshari.) Right next to you.
Senegos: The Wisdom of Patience (Await the opening of The Emerald Nightmare, then report back to Senegos in Azsuna.)
Archmage Kalec: In Nightmares (Obtain a Deathglare Iris and the Horn of the Nightmare Lord from The Emerald Nightmare.) NOTE: NOT doable with LFR. It has to be Normal difficulty or higher. In order to complete this quest you need to kill 2 bosses: Il’gynoth and Xavius and loot mentioned quest items.
Senegos: Essence of Power (Collect 30 Corrupted Essence from The Emerald Nightmare.) This quest gave me a weird WoD and Khadgar flashback. NOT doable with LFR. Only Normal or higher difficulty. Essences do not have a 100% drop rate and bosses can drop 1-2 Corrupted Essences at the time.
Senegos: Essential Consumption (Absorb the combined power of the Corrupted Essences using the Heart of Zin-Azshari.) Right next to you.
Ashildir: A Feast Fit for Odyn (Acquire flank meat from Thunderhoof in Stormheim, Spinesever’s spine in Highmountain, and a steak from Leytusk in Azsuna.)
Presentation is Key (Retrieve 4 Adamantium Casing Scraps and defeat Dargrul the Underking in Neltharion’s Lair on Mythic difficulty.)
Ashildir: Odyn’s Blessing (Obtain Odyn’s blessing in the Halls of Valor on Heroic or Mythic difficulty.)
– Use Grand Feast of Valhallas when you enter the dungeon – at the start. You can enter the dungeon alone, put the feast down, get out and then get a group to defeat Odyn and get his blessing. After you defeat him wait for him to finish his speech (RP) and then you can collect his blessing on the loot chest.
Archmage Kalec: Planning the Assault (Await the opening of the Nighthold, then meet Archmage Kalec in Shal’Aran.)
Archmage Kalec: Into the Nighthold (Collect 20 Nightshards from the Nighthold on Normal difficulty or higher.)
– Try and complete this quest without killing Gul’dan because if you kill him before acquiring The Nighthold: Darkness Calls quest in Part 20 he won’t drop quest item for you this week and you’ll need to wait for a next reset to complete The Nighthold: Darkness Calls quest in Part 20.
Thalrenus Rivertree: The Nighthold: Delusions of Grandeur (Collect the core of Trilliax and Grand Magistrix Elisande’s Millennia Tome in the Nighthold on Normal difficulty or higher.)
Archmage Kalec: Balance of Power (Absorb the combined power of the Nightshards and the Eye of Gul’dan using the Heart of Zin-Azshari at the Lunar Crucible.)
This is the entire quest chain I have to complete to get my glowly bear appearance Balance of Power. I am up to ….part 9. OF TWENTY ONE PARTS!! Part 9. Which on its own is tolerable. Unless, like me, you hated Suramar so much you avoided it so thoroughly that you don’t even have your mask. I am now stuck on part 9 completing the stupid questline to get Revered with the Nightfallen. I am hating every minute of it. I was annoyed that I needed to even do the first part on my pally to get her class mount to buy the stupid gem.
I cannot express my hatred for this place. If any other achievements on my toons need this place they can stay incomplete unless they are super compelling…ie…mounts/pets/titles.
My hatred refers to the questing. The need for ancient mana farming, the need to always be on the lookout for being busted out of your disguise and the constant back and forth to Meredil after 2 quests. The city itself is gorgeous and the artwork is magical – no complaints whatsoever about the look and feel.
I do adore the change to the druid forms when under the mask. Cat form is my favourite!
The owl is pretty nice as well.
I just completed the Leyline Bling achievement last night which is barely through the zone quests and shows me at about 5000/12000.
I am running around in feral doing the quests just because it is faster to kill things (though my bear isn’t that bad!). I am going to have to pick Lana’s brain soon about a easy/fast “rotation” instead of just smooshing buttons when they light up and hoping for things to die. I am not wanting top DPS here, just gimme 5 buttons I can smoosh and rip people’s faces off.
So…my balance of power is all to get this appearance. The pain and hatred is all to have this purple glowly bear butt! If i lose it after legion I swear to all the aspects of the dragons I will rage like Ursoc.
I have to complete Balance of Power AND a level 15 mythic – which my group wants anyway. To do the level 15 mythic we need our DPS to have better gear (Ben/Drew switched toons on us for and haven’t managed to spend time getting the gear. Oui changed as well but he came to a normal run and went up like 40 ilevels or something stupid). I think Tank wise I am ok and Michael is fantastic for healing. I think we can do a 15, we just need to focus on gear and making sure we have maximum DPS output to do it. I want to get it done before the xpac ends – even more so now.
So I continue with the quest line which requires 8 mythic dungeons throughout and some raids in Normal mode. <tired sigh> I am never going to finish this. All help is appreciated!
I logged onto my mage tonight to do my missions and noticed the emote telling me my portals were wanting to send me to Frostfire ridge. It is a random thing you just have to wait for and I was surprised I got it only about 3 days after having my portals active.
This is likely the most simple one of the hidden artifacts to get. Select class hall upgrade for portals, wait for them to do the emote, walk though and speak to a huge fire mob who hands you the Everburning Crystal.
When you use it – voila! It is literally as simple as that. Compared to some of the pally ones I have had to do!
Such an awesome looking hidden weapon. I am going to stick with frost for a while especially after getting this appearance unlocked.
So I jumped back to my missions, and managed to get another couple of token to raise my reputation for Valajar.
What this means…is that I need one more reputation. Just one more and I will be at 70. I am not far off on a couple of them and will see if I can’t get a few more to exalted before the new xpac comes out.
I am devastated as to the loss of wow juju reputation calculator, I wish I as good enough to recreate the site. Or someone. Not me 🙂
I have been randomly checking out Dalaran for the lost mail envelope. Not with any great amount of seriousness but just incase. I actually found it last night!
It is a little bit of fun, and on the plus side if you get the first achievement completed you get another lost mail item to send to someone.
So you receive a quest to start you off:
You go and check out Madam Goya and some poor orcs life is spared as you turn up just in time for him to have paid off his debt to her.
The post master summons you after that to a pipe near the pet cemetery and you drop into an awesome looking room. My new favourite location honestly.
It is such a cool room, floating mail and little elementals etc. I adore everything about this room. The post master sends you on a couple of missions, one carrying some heavy stones which is in relation to a story about someone who sent bricks through the postal service as it was the cheapest method of delivery. You can read about it here.
Once you complete that he sends you to ICC to collect Invincible Reins and then find Johnny Awesome who is relaxing by some hot springs.
This is where the fun starts for me, you are supposed to deal with a goblin. Except. The Goblins hate me. Mostly all of them. I blame my Bloodsail Admiral title of course.
Of course it took me forever to realise the goblin wouldn’t talk to me, until Drew eventually notices a comment about reputation. So I had to go to Tanaris and kill mobs for 5 rep per kill until I reached neutral with Gadgetzan. Thankfully I had started working on my rep a few xpacs ago so it only took about 20 minutes with the super fast spawn rate of the pirates now.
After all that you get The Total Package. You get a lovely pet as well Mailemental, look how cute he is with his little envelope? Gah. I love the little details.
After sorting 30 envelopes in under 1 minute you also get an achievement Post Haste. A name of a place pops up on screen and you have to select the correct mail tube for it to be sent into. It is harder than is sounds. Ultimately Drew completed this before me, after calling me a WoW nerd and saying I would be able to ace it. I did then complete it after him so I don’t feel quite so guilty.
Kalimdor, Eastern Kingdoms, Outland, Northrend, Pandaria, Broken Isles is the order of the tubes above. To get the Postmaster title you have to do it with only partial names. So as an example Brill, Tirisfal Glades pops up and you select the Eastern Kindgom tube. In the Postmaster achievement you would only get Brill pop up. Tis ok for somewhere like Brill but when it gives you a random city from one of the xpacs it is so much harder.
I made a concerted effort this time round to change class/role and try something new. What this has made me realise is how much I love and miss playing my mage. Not sure what that means moving forward into the new xpac, but I have enjoyed jumping on her and doing the odd heroic/mythic/LFR. I still enjoy tanking and i adore my druid, but my mage…she is all I have ever known since day 1 and she is comforting to me. She is my happy place.
It was funny because Ben, Drew and I were discussing the desire of coming home to play way and when you are out how you want to just be at home playing. Drew said he has never experienced that really except maybe in BC days. Oui and myself though – feel it all the time. Azeroth is my happy place especially thinking about tanking or my mage. I feel I need this Tshirt – one for every day of the week.
Her gear is currently at 927 and I have been building that up pretty slowly over the last few weeks. I would like to get her into a normal Antorus with Craig’s group on Saturday evenings and I found out yesterday min ilvl is 920. I would have gone yesterday but I had just completed LFR with Drew which means I wouldn’t have gotten any loot. We weren’t supposed to be home last night for dinner – but plans with the work people fell through at the last minute which was why we did LFR earlier.
Her DPS is pretty good over the last week I have been watching and the above was on a very good AOE/stand still sort of fight – I was surprised I could hit that number with the gear. So I took a screenshot! Who wouldn’t? Ben didn’t believe me yesterday when I said mages were in a good spot, just shows another one doing over 2 mil, and I am pretty sure this was the one playing Frost spec.
This is a better representation of where I am sitting at the moment on my mage with her current gear in frost spec. A spec I haven’t played in a long time; I was playing arcane for a little which I was enjoying as well and getting approx the same numbers. The only reason I am in frost at the moment is because I am trying to get the hidden artifact – it looks amazing. I will likely switch back to arcane once I have completed that achievement and confirm if the numbers are better or the same and then just pick a spec I enjoy playing. I have a natural aversion to arcane because that was the only spec you could play for 2 xpacs and I hated being forced to pick a spec because of DPS/damage output.
In the LFR’s I have run I was managing to hold my own and I am pretty proud of that. It isn’t brilliant, but a few more weeks with some gear upgrades ( I have a lot in the 880 space still) and a better choice of stats to work with and I will be begging to bring her to some alt runs with our guild if we ever have another tank 🙂 I was in the top 5 – 8 for the LFR we ran yesterday which is bad I know with those numbers, but the top 4 were always stupidly high…like over 1.5 mill type players.
Finally managed to get this achievement! Every LFR for Antorus I have done has Eonar down already so I haven’t ever done it on LFR. So frustrating. But I finally got it done!
A picture of me and Drew completing some story lines 😀
