#Blaugust2019 – It finally happened.

Short post today, but I finally got my flying!! I thought I was way behind the 8 ball but I saw plenty of other people tweeting about finally getting it completed the same day, so I felt slightly better. I am finally able to fly!!

Just take a moment to appreciate the brilliance of this moment. This begs the question, will I be tempted to play more now? I get to see all my dragon mounts again and so many I have missed!!

On the flip side hubby asked me to do his dailies to help with his rep when he can’t be online. So this sucker for punishment said yes and have been trying to help him get his flying as well.

I am so happy to have finally done this so I can fly down to the docks and out to the raid zone!! OMG it is a wonderful feeling 🙂 Just a few more days for hubby to get his and then we can all fly together!

#Blaugust2019 – More generic stuff

All these little things happen that don’t deserve their own post, although maybe now is the time to make a single post for everything!!?

Firstly let us deal with Stupid Scrollsages who cannot tell when you have walked the pattern. I must be a millimetre off…

I had to do this about 5 times before it finally succeeded. I was so over it by the end. It is certainly a nice little challenge without much effort really. I do like the tortollen quests, they are nice and quick (usually) with decent rewards.

I got Neri up to level 10!!! Now I just have to start working on the other ones. If I can ever be bothered going back to Naz once I eventually get flying.

I actually got a power up for an essence, to level 2. Never mind the fact my necklace is still not level 55 (I know, I don’t play enough) and I only have 4 of the darn things. But can I point out, I don’t want to PVP for an essence, I don’t care how good it is, I also don’t want to do the million other things needed to collect the darn things. I really cannot understand why they had to make this plus the azerite gear such a burden.

I don’t want to have to switch my gear, talents and now my stupid necklace when I am going between mythics and raids and then even between bosses. Not to mention having to keep a completely different set of gear for tanking. I just don’t want to min/max that much. It just makes everything feel like so much more work for nothing and it irritates me. I think this is part of why I don’t want to log on at the moment, especially combined with trying to get flying.

On the plus side I am an uber fisherman who can’t seem to get “Fishing Buddy”to work anymore so I have to physically click my fishing now. <sob>

All in all I am just chugging along through the content and trying to get my professions up on my mage (Alchemy and tailoring) and my cooking up on my druid. It is also struggle city with those things. No matter how much I seem to herb or how many pieces of linen I have I seem to get like 1 skill point a week. I have to look out for the next Darkmoon Faire and get some cheap skill points.

#Blaugust2019 – Dragon Soul!!

I finally, finally!!!!! finished this achievement.

Glory of the Dragon Soul raider. It is one of those ones I just left and did occassionally because it required effort. Specifically, the spine. The spine is damn hard when you are solo and as I discovered even with duo.

Apophis and I did it a couple of weeks ago and it got me pretty excited to actually get the very last achievement done,

So when Ben mentioned he had a save at Spine but couldn’t get through it, I basically threw myself at his plated pally feet and begged to show him how to do it so I could steal his kill 🙂

It was worth it.

We died a couple of times initially getting sorted on the spine, but damn if i am not as happy as a pig in poop. If only I had flying….LOL instead of being a slacker, I could be flying this beauty around.

My next major goal is to finish the Firelands legendary on my mage so I can talk to the blue dragon flight. I should get started on that again.

OMG you guys!! The Queen!

Guess what we did when we went back into the Eternal palace?

(Lemme just add a small note in here about the post delay. I had a hugely busy weekend which landed me with some Food poisoning. I have been barely able to function so I apologize for not posting sooner.)

CLEARED NORMAL!

Yeah we killed her!! Funny story though, a fair percent of people mentioned they were dreading coming back in for a wipe night on her because she was difficult to do. However the tanks confirmed their plans before we started and really got it pinned down, and then Slobaguts, our illustrious ex raid leader who deserted us but still comes back to hang with us occasionally, provided us with a new strat of just “burn, baby, burn!” So instead of messing around with the add phase and moving around, you basically just get the tanks to hold them while we focus boss and kick her into the next phase. Sploosh. I am pretty grateful to him as it only took us a couple of attempts and we had her like a good octopus soup!

Grats on clearing it in normal 2 weeks after opening! You guys are the heroes Azeroth needs right now!

Of course the next step was heroic right? That is what we are here for!! None of this namby pamby normal stuff (although, the gear is still great in normals!).

What was different in Heroic Shivara….oh you have to move or stop depending on your colour and the overflow has to be with other people to manage. Yeah just enough of a mental mindplay to cause me issues. I died early due to an overflow that I just didn’t click meant I had to group up with others. I was watching it on my screen and then I just, sort of….died. LOL Bad Boomy!

However!!! My death aside we did have to do this a second time anyway.

1/8 Heroic

We then sauntered over to the behemoth and struggled a little on him. Only a little struggle though, I was having a nice relax in the deep tank flotation session. , It is stressful being a hero trying to save the world after all!

In typical Warsong fashion though, we did manage to kill him with only Oui alive and the tanks. What you can’t see in this image is that Soulmend had been in his angel form until just before death so was providing just enough to keep them going. It has been a while since we killed a boss in “Warsong style” which makes me pretty proud of the team. But this was such a return to form I had to make comment. Well done Oui, Aaron, Laurie and Berin for reeling in the big one!

2/8 Heroic

My screenshot folder is like a moving animation page of the hitpoints going down. I even made it into a small video for you so you could appreciate what going through my screenshot folder is like!! It is only 17 seconds long 🙂

I should also remind everyone there is a youtube playlist with our kills on there if you want to see how we do them from a monks POV, and sometimes a few others. I wonder if I should start recording as well so you can see from a bad boomy POV, but not sure I want you all to see how bad I am when I die to stupid stuff 🙂

Well done guys!! I can’t wait to see the Queen fall to us in heroic!! Only a few more to get through.

Catch up

With pictures 🙂

There is a lot of stuff in here, generic achievements, pets received by my wonderful wonderful friends, mythics run, chests looted, my husband winning mounts from his first ever kill of Jaina (in LFR no less!!), Pathfinder part 1 and various other bits and pieces, like my mage reaching 120 finally and Apophis’ first mythic run.

It has been an amazing 4 months in game 🙂 and I can’t wit to see what the new patch brings.

My biggest question is…are they bringing the dragons back? OMG it would be the most epic of expansions and I would lose my mind.

We also did a fair bit of PVP one night, just running around and killing stuff. It was loads of fun and we all got a stupid amount of achievements from them because none of us had done PVP on these characters. We might have to jump back in and do some more because the list of randoms you could end up in was about 4 the last time we did it, not it is about 25 or something incredible.

Coin showers of killing

Every single time I giggle like a child. Coin showers. It just makes me laugh. I am juvenile…yes I know.

We went back in with a plan…of killing Opulence. The guys had done the first bosses on Wednesday and had done some normals as well when it got too much to handle.

We messed up the rooms a couple of times with people dying early due to “stupidity”, healers walking away from their pc’s instead of accepting resses and people dropping their burning gold poop in melee. But we seemed to just know it better I think. I actually survived on the kill which is about as 50/50 chance these days 🙂

4/9H

We did manage to kill her/it/him though after about the 3rd attempt. As you can see most of us were alive and communication was good. It worked well and even the adds were not too much trouble this time. Extra mass entanglement helps I think, but it never seems to last long enough 🙂

We headed to council next. What a messed up fight – I note I will likely be saying this about all fights – there seems to be so much to focus on everything else but attacking the main boss in these BoD fights. They are so busy.

I didn’t think this would be as hard as it was simply because of one extra mechanic by a frog, but it lifts the level enough to be annoying when it is botched. The main issue of everyone getting centrally underneath Paku but fast enough to not be the farthest away at any given point except for someone else….my god….just horrific. There must be an easier way.

Kimbal 2 %

Our best attempt was one of our first, we killed Gonk and had Kimbal at 2%, so we just had 2 more aspects to go. I am not sure why we kept going worse. That is a habit our guild has and I am very curious about the psychology behind it if I am honest. One of the other super annoying habits of my wonderfully stubborn guild mates is the need to change what we are doing after 1 attempt, just give it a couple of attempts to let people settle into the fight before going all balls to walls on changes, it just makes it confusing.

We also had comments about how much harder healing was without Nibblepie holding up the team 🙂 I am not sure I am meant to say anything but you know I couldn’t help it. But like Nibblepie when Ben isn’t around casts that we don’t even know exist start going off; I miss the days where Ben would say when he interrupted things. Of course none of that is important when you have DPS doing 40k on trash mobs (looking at you Jon, Oui, Ben and Simon) and making everyone else feel so insufficient as players. I have no idea how Chris is feeling with the news his spec is the lowest on the charts for the last 2 weeks, maybe time to go back to his warrior?

We gave up after a few shots and then went back into normal mode and smashed this boss in the face and Rastakan as well 🙂 For my efforts I was rewarded with something of immense joy.

I know a lot of the people I follow are already in mythic level and have their AOTC achievements, but what about the rest of us plebs – where are you sitting at?

General running around

I have been sick recently and had two days off work. I spent the entire time sitting in front of my pc playing WoW and drinking water. It was my attempt to recuperate and not do anything at all.

This allowed me time to get through the horde story line (which I hadn’t done) but I am now up to the part where I have to kill Jaina. I did wonder if the chain was ever going to end as I started it weeks (dare I say – months) ago and it just kept going!

I feel like I am in the storyline for the patch now – I wasn’t before. It also means the cinematic in the BoD raid make a little more sense.

Whilst I was running around doing quests I found this..somehow. It was so hidden I have no idea how i lucked upon it. I have now been blessed by all the Loa. Seriously can you even see anything in the picture the needs to be clicked on?

I did some cooking and some other daily quests and managed to get achievements, I wasn’t actively working towards but it is nice to get them 🙂 I always love it when something pops up. There used to be an addon that would take a screenshot when it happened but it stopped working years ago and I haven’t found a replacement – if you know one…let me know. It was called Multishotter and would also take pictures at boss kills, reputations…it was fantastic.

I also decided to do some expeditions to get some azerite (trying to increase my necklace) and I got achievements for all the new islands I hadn’t done but I also scored one pet out of the 3 heroic ones i ran. Stupidly, I kept thinking I was the blue team and was thinking we were losing each time….I am horde people….red….seriously…..

I have been doing my best to increase my gear, reputation and my necklace. I am revered with everything except Champions of Azeroth – I am midway into honoured – but my gear is at about 385 which is allowing to me to get some decent DPS. This makes me happy as well 🙂 I am so looking forward to the release of the new brawlers guild. I can’t wait to get back into it.

Raiding…catch up :)

I got slack with the posts again but I swear it isn’t my fault…aside from this being my blog and therefore fully responsible for posting etc!! Shhh no one needs to know ok :p

So the wonderful guild has managed to kill Blockade!!! I wasn’t there for the kill but I managed to get hold of a picture from a guildie. Look how happy they all look!

Blockade 8/9 N

They apparently went and had a play with Jaina and it terrified them 🙂 That doesn’t bode well imho!! There has been talk the first three bosses in heroic are easier than Jaina. I will cross that bridge when I come to it though, I am unlikely to see Jaina on normal any time soon due to my availability. However having said that I was unwell last week and managed to get in on a Wednesday raid to see the earlier bosses I hadn’t yet killed.

I was pretty excited at killing Grong on normal (having only seen him on heroic) and scoring this little beauty of an achievement. Yup I am defending the homelands from angry white gorillas (sounds like Aussie politics at the moment)!

He is a much easier fight on normal than heroic, stupidly so. I wonder how easy LFR is. We continued through the bosses with ease, however we got to Rastakhan and I swear on everything I hold holy, I did nothing good on that fight. Nothing. I was in the group that had to go down the bottom and I literally spent the next 5 minutes just running around to avoid the bubbles and jumping into the portal to remove the debuff. I did not get any more than about 10 casts off the entire time…including my instant casts.

That fight made me sweat. I didn’t like it at all. I am now terrified of Jaina. I had thought I took a photo of the amount of balls downstairs but I haven’t. Nibblepie did later say to me the last time they did this there was nowhere near as many balls to worry about. I would have liked to have been in that run instead 🙂

But we did get through it, even with people (I think it was Nelly) wondering why the bottom phase was taking so long. Sorry – that was entirely my fault for not doing any DPS. Another achievement received, I am sure I will be ok on this fight next time now that I have seen it all the way through.

Onto a heroic catch up! We are now 2 down!! We smashed through lights champion and then went to Grong. Last time he smashed us in the face repeatedly at below 20%. This time, he got smashed in the face 🙂

Grong 2/9 H

We then spent the rest of the evening (by accident) wiping on the Jadefire Masters. I kid you not we almost had them….every single time. It was so close. They weren’t clean attempts or pretty but we were so close we just kept thinking we would get them.

For those who have been lucky enough to never get sent upstairs – this is what you are looking at:

Now in every single video I have watched on this boss they make it look like they turns happens really slowly and you have time. I call absolute BS on that. I think they sped them up or something in real because this is virtually impossible to survive and to see. This image above is so clear and saturated with colour, mine was a lighter/paler green and harder to see. It was at this point we mostly all died. However by the end of the night some people were surviving more often but honestly it was just horrific. Ben somehow managed to survive every single time…I suspect having an awesome graphics card and video settings at ultra might make things look different therefore easier? I will try and get a picture of what it looks like for me when we are in there next.

Either way, we are chugging along and learning the fights as well as can be expected. We will get through through because that is how we do it in Warsong!!

AoTC – G’huunalicious

We have had a few weeks since my last raiding post being stuck on Zul, Mythrax and G’huun.  It has been a little bit of a struggle not because we aren’t good enough – we really are, but because we have had weird class mixes or not enough people etc.

One of the questions I was asked recently was “Why, by all the laws of science, does it take our guild to the very last attempt of the night to kill the boss?”  No solid answers came up except that perhaps on that very last attempt people actually pay full attention and do everything they can to stay alive and be aware.  The conclusion we drew was that we need to only allow a certain amount of attempts on the boss before moving on.  Which works for the middle bosses who you can do in any order, but not for the ones at the start.  My additional cruelty to this would be after the limited number of attempts you drop the difficulty back down until people can stay focused on those bosses….hahah.

I honestly wish we didn’t spend all night wiping to kill the boss on the last attempt and not because I don’t love raiding, but because people get angry at each other and we feel like we can’t do it….which is rubbish because we know we can do it – we have evidence on every kill we can do it.  So why…why is it  the absolute last pull of the night?

We started the night with 13 people and on patch night with computer issues everywhere. Drops, mini freezes, latency that wasn’t latency; it was my usual rage inducing experience.  Nothing makes me quite as angry as wanting to play WoW and being excited to get into it and having issues with the game.  My taurean (and tauren) side comes out like waving a red flag. Sets me right off into swearing and cussing.

We gave Mythrax a few attempts and were struggling with only 2 healers, but then a few of the people from Resplendant (another guild) were available and we pulled them in to make a 20 man raid. It was at this point after fluffing about for 10 minutes that my computer decided to really take a crap and it took me 3 restarts to be able to get back into game because WoW was not happy.  I finally logged in and found I was booted from the raid and ported back to the Great Seal and the guys were killing Mythrax.

I lost my mind. I cannot explain how much I lost my mind.  Part of my rage was because I spend all my raid time wiping. I only raid on Fridays which is usually hard boss night, so I don’t actually get any benefit from raiding just loss of money. So the opportunity for me to get one piece of gear (when I don’t currently) pissed me off so much.  I didn’t want to spend the rest of the night wiping on another boss with no gratification or gear out of it.  I had spent 8k buying potions/flasks before the raid and this has been my life for the last few months.  My first Wednesday in months and I got booted out.  I was raging.

Anyway it took a little convincing from Drew, Ben and Michael before I jumped back online as the guild was about to start G’huun.   Ben advised disabling all mods seemed to work wonders for him and Oui so left DBM running only and the game was playable without issue. Drew had suggested I disable all mods and that was just before my game went to the toilet on my heart so I didn’t have  chance to do it.

We were slapping him around with new friends from Resplendant and honestly we were doing pretty messy attempts.   We did get him to 2% with only tanks and heals alive.  No idea who was “leading” from the other guild – no one introduced themselves…. <glare> but he was pretty funny.  We had to stay alive going into the third phase and on this 2% I was the only one who actually died at the transition happened.  So it is pretty much my fault we didn’t kill him….I am blaming the healers though because well….heal me!!!

Sadly the heals were doing terrible DPS and couldn’t make up for what would have been my amount :p Unbelievable!!

Then of course, on our very very last attempt of the night, he died.  Ahead of the Curve; yes please!

I actually managed to stay alive until he was at about 2% but I had managed to back myself into a corner with the pizza phase and it just meant I had nowhere to run when I got a few effects at once. I was so annoyed with myself.  Chris and I were running balls again and doing well at that, we have a pattern and we rock!  Some might say we were cutting it close to the new raid being released but now we can spend sometime just getting clears (if people are around) in preparation for the new raid – I would love to get my gear better before we go into the new area.

Thanks to the filthy mouthed Resplendent guilds telling us to stay alive and for the healers to heal people :p;  it was an enjoyable night from about 9pm onwards….but not before.

Michael said he will upload the kill video to youtube and here it is!! I found it for you 🙂

LOLHEALZ

Did I ever tell you about the run we did a few weeks ago because Ben’s nephew cracked the wobblies at his uncle for not running anything with him?  If I didn’t, I am sorry but it was pretty hilarious.  If I have sorry, you are going to sit through the story again.

Ben decided to pull a group of us together to run his nephew, Hayden (sp?) through Motherlode and sadly Michael was not up to doing another mythic.  No one else was responding and so, I stupidly offered to heal.  From my memory it was Me healing, Drew tanking, Ben, Hayden and poor Simon.

We did motherlode as it is easiest to get to and it was horrific. I didn’t have any mouseover macros set up, I had no experience healing as a druid and even less just healing in general.  Hayden kept pulling extra mobs on his way back to the group after dying and Ben kept telling him off until he quietly said “well, I haven’t ever been here before!” Oh. Oops. Sorry love. It was so hilarious. The entire run was just a mess of everyone pulling threat and extra mobs and me trying to heal through it with all buttons that look green!!!  Thankfully that ended early as the server decided to do a restart and we were all put out of our misery.

So if that wasn’t enough of a horrid experience I offered to heal again just recently because we wanted to do a run but Michael was again, unavailable.  Noticing a theme here?? What is our heals doing!??! I believe he was going for a run…I mean…come on… WoW > Exercise? LOL.

It was well worth it though because we got a pet out of it!! It was the entire reason we chose King’s rest; to get the pet – since I was going to heal we figured it wouldn’t be too hard on me.

I only managed to kill people a few times as I set up my mouseovers before we went in which was so much better.  I have so much respect for healers because I have no idea how you heal and move at the same time.  I died on the Tribe of Elder boss after we killed the first one, so Ben laid his hands on Drew at one point and they managed to kill the boss without me.

I couldn’t cast anything in the embalmer room because those stupid slimes targeted me the entire time. I was – once again – cursing about them violently.  They don’t target random – they target me. Only.  Like the last boss in Motherlode – it is me – every single time with the missile. Every time.   I have  no idea how to heal when I literally spend the entire time moving. OMG I was angry.  I really  do not understand how healers have the calmness of mind to do the job.  I think raid healing would be much easier because you are not the only person there but 5 mans. It is like a stress level I cannot deal with, the only time I felt ok was when Drew had all the aggro and was the only taking actual damage, but the second someone else took aggro it was OMGWTFHEALZ!!!!!!! Horrid. HORRID!!  I also refuse to create a healing set when I am still trying to get a tanking set and keep my balance set up to date.  Too hard. TOO HARD BLIZZARD!!!

So how do we get the pet?  In the last boss room of King’s Rest, there are 2 large sarcophagi at the back of the room (left and right) and a far distance apart.  You need to have two people ready to stand on the little triangle/ shape on the ground in front of the sarcophagi just after you pull the boss – one left and one right.   The triangle shape will have no interaction.  Once you pull the boss, you need to wait for some tiny little fairy lights to appear around the triangle on the ground.  When you see the lights the two people stand on their own side and you have to stand there until the sarcophagi starts to shake and rumble.  It took about a minute for it to happen with us. So just be patient and have your healer keep the tank alive whilst you wait.   You can then kill the boss once you have the rumbling sarcophagi happen.

You cannot do it on heroic or keystone. You have to go in on mythic 0 only!

Grats on the How to Keep a Mummy achievement! Look how cute he is!?!?!  JUST LOOK!!!!

Warfronts

I really enjoyed the warfronts I did when they went live. I did about 3 I think, 1 for the main piece of loot and a couple more times with others just for fun. I did get nice pieces of gear upon completion but none of them were upgrades for me due to raids and mythics etc. It would be a great gearing option though.

The first one was all wtf are we supposed to do, mainly running around just trying to kill things, but the following ones had a little more focus on my part. However I got gradually worse with each one and collected less and less items to hand in and spent more time farther afield killing mobs.

I even somehow managed to capture a flag/location 🙂 Go me!

I can’t wait to get back into these because I love them at the moment. Mix this in with expeditions and I am finding I have things to do constantly. In fact, I feel like there is too much to do now. I simply don’t have the time to do it all!! I think Blizz went the other way on keeping us busy, but my god I love it.

I also did a few more expeditions but we failed on a heroic one again 🙁 So depressing, we were running around like mad people trying to locate azerite and just couldn’t find any! It was so frustrating. As you can see we were not even close to completing it.

We did manage to complete one on heroic though, so it isn’t all bad.  I still find these loads of fun.

I have seen a few people around the traps saying they only do these is mythic!!  HOW?!?!?!  I am too scared to even contemplate mythic until we can nail heroic versions!! Just another thing I wish I had more free time for.

G’huun you gelatinous grotto grub

Our Wednesday night raid did not go as expected in any way. It was like an event out of some weird TV sitcom that makes no sense from start to finish.  I know on our last raid we were so close to getting him down, but it wasn’t looking promising when we started.

A 4% wipe. We seemed to forget about the cotton balls and people were dropping them like little fluffy farts all over the place. It was hectic. H.E.C.T.I.C

We had the same groups on the balls again – there are a couple of videos up on the youtube playlist (right hand side) showing the basketball tossing we do and Brian has added a tanking video. There is also all the streams from Ben which are available to watch if you are keen. Definitely worth checking out as I think the guild talks more rubbish than anything, but it lightens the tension.

Eventually though we got all our fluffy balls away from the raid, healers had a slither of mana left over and we had a couple of DPS up for the magnificent and wonderous event:

The death of G’huun. A  Heart of Corruption achievement for completing the last 2 bosses and also the Guild Run achievement. AMAZING!

Look at us handsome people. We are definitely Champions of Azeroth imho. I am pretty proud of my guild, we really haven’t spent all that long on any of the bosses and we generally get them down after a solid night of progress. Testament to Nelly running heroic/mythic version with the other guild as she knows the ins and outs of the strats which aren’t really obvious when just reading through or watching videos.

This is where the weirdness begins. We had to start attempting heroic because well, we had cleared everything in Normal!  WOO! (I am still on a high for having gotten through it relatively quickly, it was opened on the 5th September and has taken us 3 weeks to get through).

We decide to Kill Heroic Taloc. Yeah we made a group decision to do it.

The blood puddles were a mess, apparently (like the other night on Mythrax) people don’t know which is the middle area (or their left and right)…even when markers are down. So it got a little scary in some parts trying to lay down blood and not get cornered, but we did manage to get it done.  Overall without Nelly being firm about when to move and how far to move on the platform to avoid the lasers we wouldn’t have gotten this.

MOTHER was next up because we still had most of a raid night to go, it seemed about the same as a fight except for the extra laser beams which come from the roof and the beams moving much faster down the room.  The wind is also much stronger. I don’t usually get snaggled in it, but the first couple almost had my feathers charred.  I noticed on the next ones there is a flow visual a few seconds before the actual wind so if you go in the opposite direction in preparation you can get some extra breathing room.  Completely screws the casting ability this fight as you are constantly moving from fire, wind and lasers.

Just took us a couple of attempts and then voila! Most of us alive, no spawns getting their casts off and another Heroic boss down. It seemed so much more difficult when we started it. This is going to be a horrid fight if you lose concentration for a millisecond. No room for errors at all.

Of course we tried another one after getting her down, why not hey?  At this point it is lunacy to be clearing this with only a few attempts to learn the new mechanics but I was pretty happy with our efforts. Off to Fetid Devourer and the conversation at some point devolved into worse than gutter talk. I am meaning adult xxx content. I was laughing so hard.  It is fun to be playing with adults who don’t appear to have any issues with the more cheeky subjects of sex, bear arses and pussies on faces.

Fetid Devourer managed to kick us in the face repeatedly. We were actually doing ok to start but it was just a little hectic with the new mechanic for the add spawns. We were improving but really slowly. So we called it a night with a complete clear of Uldir and a solid start on heroic mode.  It is awesome,m such a great night.

Enjoy the little things

I am going to start with the absolute best thing I have seen in game so far, and I am making a concerted effort to find more because they just make me laugh. I love the humour that Blizzard puts into its games.

Likely you have ridden past this one over 100 times already but because you are running past you have missed them.  They are in the Great Seal. I adore them.

This is their comments on the absolutely stunning Aztec/Mayan architecture – beasts! If you look around you find these two with a selfie stick.

Just look at them?!!?  HAHHA I love it. I should’ve taken a selfie with them as well with my camera!

My next most loved and hated quest is the turtle quests. I am ok with shooting the crabs but screw those birds. The targeting is so difficult.

I just love everyone is referencing this now. LOL.   Laurie posted this picture to our guild facebook  a couple of days ago and I am sort of shocked and amazed at the same.  Seems like a crazy thing to get tattooed 🙂

I mean…seriously insane!!  I have always wanted a wow related tattoo so I am not questioning a wow tattoo but I would be leaning more towards a horde/alliance crest personally.  Kudos to their love of turtles reaching the water 🙂

I also finally found one of these little beauties!!!  I am so proud of myself.

Can you see the gorgeous rainbow? Just look at it!!  Stupidly I was standing right underneath it later and didn’t notice until too late as my flight master whistle went off. I will need to go back. But look!!  A RAINBOW IN GAME!!!!  SQUEEE!  Moryrt and I also noticed sand winds in Voldun recently, just a small layer on the desert moving with wind.

Blizzard are killing it with the weather effects if you ask me. Not just weather either. I nearly lost the plot when I saw the new Warlock Summoning portal and cookie dispenser. They are amazing.  If you haven’t seen one yet, ask a lock friend to put one down for you. They are stunning.   Here is a picture from reddit.

The picture just doesn’t do it justice. It is brilliant!!

And whilst waiting for a run to happen I managed to get this little achievement, just means I spent far too much time playing to hit the 250k score in one game 🙂 I blame Oui for that, completely! Correct me if I am wrong, but did they update the images in the jewelcraft or have they always been those icons, I remember them being different?

Whilst trawling the land I found these little cuties, when you click on the lute next to them the rainbow appears.  I admit to spending far too long clicking the lute.

The other thing I am loving is the underwater bars around the world. As a druid it is probably easier for me to investigate the water – but seriously they are all slightly different with funny things happening. This one has a dancing murloc in a top hat and disco jellies.  I check out the vendors, have a couple of drinks and then look for the next one in my travels.  These are very cute hide away places!

What else have you guys found that gives you a little kick of enjoyment?

We are coming for you G’huun

You and your pet, Zul.

I missed the guild’s second raid as it was moved to a Saturday night due to lack of healer availability for Friday, but we had plans already which I wouldn’t get out of. So I watched it on the stream (thank god Ben was streaming!!) whilst our friends watched the Collingwood match.  I didn’t get to hear the smooth bedroom voice of our raid leader as I was watching only, not listening. The guild killed the next couple of bosses from our Wednesday night and whilst I was in the stream chat screaming for someone to take pictures – no one did.

They got stuck on Zul, from what I could see.  So when I made it to the next Wednesday night raid (thanks to delayed trains and missing karate again), I was extremely happy.

We smashed it like a birthday cake. Smashed it.

We one shot Taloc again, like a bunch of pros. I think it was a little messier this time as we didn’t set up markers for dumping of the blood therefore people were kind of going everywhere.  It wasn’t as well controlled like our first kill. I know me and a few others got caught behind a range barrier of badly placed blood with no way to get back to the group just before the boss died.

MOTHER went so smoothly that I cannot understand how we struggled so much last week. It was like we had done the boss a million times before. We set up, Brian advised he had changed some talents and gear for better mitigation, Jason set up the groups and all the healers proceeded to have heart palpitations at all their UI’s being completely messed up.  Chris counted the groups perfectly so there was no confusion about who was going through when and we proceeded to just smash her. Poor Ostrik (spelling sorry) died on the first or second flames and then stayed dead the entire fight because we were saving the rezzes. He would have had great fun!  LOL.  It was just amazing. We didn’t get the laser beams (we don’t know why?), and we only had  flames and wind to contend with…makes it sound like a bad curry doesn’t it?

Fetid devourer was the same, just melted through it like it was nothing.  I was excited as this was the point we got to in one raid last week and we had only been about 30 or 40 minutes?  I shall have to check the stream.

We then headed to the suckerface. Vectis, honestly not that hard but it was my first kill so I grabbed this quick screenie before the guild ran away. So technically our second kill.

Zek’voz was next and this was as horrific as I had expected. It isn’t overly difficult per se, just so much going on that you are constantly watching for effects to happen so you can run away.

That got me a nice little achievement and also another quick screenshot before the guild ran away to spend the rest of the night wiping on Zul.

We wiped. We wiped. We wiped and just for good measure, we wiped a little more.

Zul. Zul. Zul.

He was finally defeated on the next Friday raid night. Would we call it a smooth kill? Or even a good kill? You could probably put it into a “shear dumb luck category” and it would be close.

Not to down play the effeort we were putting in though. We were consistently putting him to 40% and just needed a little change to strats.  The best one being not CCing the hexxers and just interrupting/stunning so they came to the centre. From a DPS perspective it was much easier than running around the platform wasting case/DPS.

We spent what was left of Friday night working on Mythrax. When the adds pop with the mind flay we all die. It is a hard fail for us at that specific point, if we could get them under control I have no doubt we would be ok.

Let’s see how the guild goes next week. Grats everyone on the kills!

Blood Bargain

I wanted to post about the Bargain questline. So, if you haven’t managed to get through the Zandalari Forever line, I would suggest you don’t read further if you don’t want spoilers, because spoilers. Many many many spoilers.

Mythic dungeon master?

So once we broke through the first barrier of mythics we basically never went back to a heroic. The only time has been for world quests so we can just burn through them quickly or to complete an achievement.

The upside is we managed to get the dungeon master achievement after some targeted runs.

Tol Dagor is such a confusing maze of a place, I have no idea how people find their ways through these dungeons for the first time.

The Sand Queen boss is a pain of a fight, with the worst bit being the drones giving the boss a buff so you have to kill them away from the tank. Great for a ranged class but crap when the rest of the group is melee.

Jes Howlis is fun, I like this fight but only the you have the ability to clear out the cells before the fight.

Knight Captain Valyri is a horrible fight, my most hated, having to move the barrels is painful and if you don’t you get covered in fire. I managed to move the barrels perfectly one attempt but did no DPS on the boss. I guess that is the point right? Someone sacrifices their DPS for the good of the group?

Overseer Korgus the last boss, it a fun fight as well. I like the mechanic of not being able to move too much (unless your tank pulls the boss before you are even up the last lot of stairs so you get stunned almost immediately and nearly die from the first lot of black on the ground). It certainly keeps you on your toes.

King’s rest. What can I say. Screw you to the pits of hell you rubbish instance. Specifically the The Council of Tribes (bastards).  What a horrible horrible fight. I can’t even talk about it without getting angry.  In fact it annoyed me enough I took a picture when we killed them.  This is not so bad a fight now having done it a few more times but it still a touch and go situation.

The Golden Serpent; the best tip we got for this (Thanks Nathan) was to start the boss at the top of the steps, dump our first and second batches of gold just there and then move the boss to below the steps for the next lot. It keeps the gold together for some amazing AOE and they die super fast.

Mchimba the Embalmer I don’t mind the boss fight, but the trash can go and get screwed. SCREWED!!  Every single time I do any damage I get the green puddles under me and no one else gets them. It doesn’t matter if I am in melee, middle or farthest away.  The only time I don’t get puddles is when I stand there and literally do nothing.  Everything I have read says it is supposed to be random, but I can guarantee you it isn’t. It makes me so angry, I swear every single time I am in that room and everyone just laughs at me. Which makes me even more angry.    Not much angers me in WoW.  Even Moryrt made comment during a run about how he never sees me angry when I play, except this room.

Finally, Dazar, The First King I had no idea the first time I did this, it seemed super complicated and confusing but the next couple of times I have run it seems like no problem at all. I would consider this much easier than any of the other bosses in this dungeon.

Shrine of storms we did heroic as it was the last one we needed for the dungeon achievement! What a place. So good in fact that I can barely remember it. There were fights, something about water, loads of trash….yeah it was good? I don’t remember disliking much about it?

I guess I need to go back to Shrine. First I want to open up Siege or Boralus.

It’s a Mythic!!

We did our very first mythic!!  Can you believe it! We are soo excited. 310 ilevel for me, Moryrt and Nibblepie were about 316-320, so we knew we weren’t too far off being able to handle them with our set group. Stab was 340 I think and Pracey was 332? But still not exactly stellar levels.

Figuring that mythic 0 isn’t a killer and isn’t really much worse than heroic we decided to head to the motherlode because it was a central location and easy to get to. Never underestimate laziness people, never 🙂

We had one particularly bad patch where we got mobs from behind a hut accidentally as well as mobs to the side. It was bedlam. We wiped technically once, but we died a lot more than that. We kept running back individually to keep the momentum going before deciding to just wait and go again as a group.

I took a picture of our group in the middle of the run because I wanted to remember our very first mythic. Unlike some people who have already completed the collective mythic achievement, some of us have waited to go together as a group. LOL yes, many cherry popping jokes were made because some of us are juveniles when together.

The last boss killed us, once. I am terrified of doing this on a harder keystone. This fight is horrid. So much stuff on the ground, and homing missiles and gattling guns and smashes ….it makes me nervous.  Hopefully a few more attempts and we will spank it with ease.

We finished that earlier than we thought we would, so we signed up for another heroic. The Waycrest Manor.  (We now only have 2 more to see).  I liked it. Pracey was enamoured with the pipe organ playing throughout and I admit it was nice.  The fights aren’t too bad on heroic. I have no idea about the fight with the flasks and the dead people, but I am sure I will make sense of it after another couple of goes.

I clicked a “Vile pod” which was sitting in a fountain in a courtyard and “Groundskeeper Lilltih” popped up and almost killed me. I started screaming for aid. Reminiscent of Gondor really, but my team came running and I survived.  I tried to not touch anything else. There doesn’t seem to be anything fancy about the pod just an extra elite spawn.

So mythic number 1 done. We got so much gear drop as well.  Pracey is the only plate wearer and the brilliance of 4 people being able to swap gear is indescribable.  We are now well into the 324 space for ilevel which means we might get close for raiding requirements set by the guild of 330, especially if we can fit in some mythics between now and then. 340 ilevel gear dropping on bosses is nothing to be baulking at and basically why we stopped running heroics – why chase 325 when we can chase 340? Amirite?

DPS wise I think the boomy is doing me ok, I would like to be higher but I need to stop comparing myself to Stab and Pracey who had 30 ilevels on me and still have about 20 after upgrades. It makes a big difference.  I even downloaded Hekili (mod for rotations) and my DPS isn’t that far off if I am not using the mod compared to when I am using it. This makes me happy.

I see many more mythics in our future. Many.

Expeditions of fun!

OMG! I hadn’t thought they would be as much fun. I think it depends on who you do them with though, I could see these being horrible with PUGS.

Our first one was Whispering Reef and Pracey was trying to explain everything to us whilst ensuring we didn’t fail. We did cream the alliance AI in that one.

The next one was The Rotting Mire and this was a very close call. The numbers don’t reflect it, but at one point the alliance were about 600 infront of us because we couldn’t find anything to kill/collect, until we happened upon three Surok camps with so many fat bags of Azerite we claimed the victory.

The next was the Verdant Wilds. Again we had loads of space and spent a fair amount of time killing the alliance which I think helped to  our victory. We did get better as we went along.

I did keep running off to mine and collect things whilst Moryty and Pracey killed mobs which was not entirely helpful (I would be that bad PUG). I was so easily distracted by the shinies!  We had a few really close matches which I thought we would definitely lose but we found stashes of azerite just at the right times.

The Whispering reef had our closest match but we still managed to come out on top!

According to conversations you should do the 7 per week you need to cap the azerite, however you don’t really need to do more. They are meant to be a side to the main quests/stories and give you something different to do.

We did do all 7 though and had a good laugh at the same time. I would like to see these scale with group size so you can have 3-6 people running around and the mobs just have more HP or require more effort.

I really enjoyed them and I doubt I would ever actually do a PVP version, the AI was enough for me, but I think I would be happy doing more than 7 a week if people needed a third wheel.

Tips:

  • Make sure you grab the shovel if you see one!
  • Eat all the things
  • Go for the rare mobs.

Legends of the Tidesages

Whilst running around discovering the places in Kul Tiras we decided to chase down the rest of the Tidesages because we stumbled across one in the wild.

Nice easy achievement Legends of the Tidesages when discovering the areas.

I have added them to the attached map for easy locating if you don’t have co-ordinates.  The purple diamonds are the locations, sorry they are so small, I was adding them in via Handynotes and forgot to enlarge them.

There are also way points on wowhead from Varenne:

/way Stormsong Valley 49.51 80.90 Legends of the Tidesages Part 1 (Near the waterfall)
/way Stormsong Valley 59.02 59.54 Legends of the Tidesages Part 2 (On top of the hill)
/way Stormsong Valley 31.95 72.91 Legends of the Tidesages Part 3 (Near the lake)
/way Stormsong Valley 33.81 33.23 Legends of the Tidesages Part 4 (On top of the island)
/way Stormsong Valley 56.02 38.53 Legends of the Tidesages Part 5 (Up the mountain right of Warfang Hold)
/way Stormsong Valley 44.18 36.60 Legends of the Tidesages Part 6 (Up the mountain left of Warfang Hold)
/way Stormsong Valley 62.08 30.22 Legends of the Tidesages Part 7
/way Stormsong Valley 75.07 31.13 Legends of the Tidesages Part 8 (Near the Shrine of the Storm entrance)

They have some beautiful scenery from the mountain tops. Really lovely shrines. These are my favourite ones, I could picnic up there all day I think.

Just stunning.

Heroics, finally :)

Our heroic runs have been basically smooth as butter. Until our first attempt on Merektha.

Image result for Merektha

She spanked us in ways, we ought not to be spanked and we died. Horrifically. There was just…stuff going on everywhere and we made too many mistakes.  We went back in and killed her the next attempt but it was touch and go as well.

I think the moist difficult thing in the dungeon is the electric balls of pain. Do not attempt this when drunk. I can vouch for it being very hard to watch the patterns and react fast enough. Someone else in our group can also vouch for the pain. I hate to see these in mythics. I really just don’t want to.

Of course Moryrt just flaps himself over. Cheater.

We did a few others and they all went super smooth. A few niggles and me pulling extra moonfired mobs, but I swear it was some other druid we are in the group with.

Underrot wiped us a couple of times due to those stupid snakes, we tried…attempted…to stealth past. Stealth by a rogue type person. It failed.  We had multiple snakes and it was nasty.   We didn’t do that again LOL.

The motherlode was nowhere near as bad as I had thought it would be. The last boss was horrific. I still just don’t get that fight, so much movement and too many things to watch out for.  I can’t wait to see that one in mythic and tear my hair out in tears.

I learnt during our heroic runs that my battle rez is no longer instant cast. I have to actually cast it?  Like what the heck? I need to plan what I am going to do and when I can rez people.  It is insanity. INSANITY I tell you!  Then I tried to dispel a curse and found that has an 8 second clown.  WHAT?!  I tried to help our healer and failed.

The heroics are fun, I can’t wait to see the other dungeons from the alliance side. Especially whatever id in Drustvar, the witchy part of my soul loves that place.

It is enjoyable doing new dungeons!! ilevel is now 310…nowhere near what i need for raiding or mythics but we were all swapping gear with each other and it is making it easier to gear up.
