Time to empty the quest log

I admit it – I dislike having a a quest log that can never be cleaned out.  I seem to be battling the constantly full quest log and it is driving me mental. So in an effort to clear some of it out I signed up for random heroics. My ilevel is sitting at 846 now thanks to some world quests and so I figured it was about time.  I think I cleared out 2 quests with the 4 heroics I ended up doing.

Better than nothing, I still need Eye of Azahara, Darkheart Thicket….and one more….something…with a boss in it that has a quest item.  That isn’t including the 3 other Mythic dungeons I need to run still for a quest which have items I need to collect.

My first run was Blackrook hold – which I have a special room key for, but we were going so fast I was scared of getting lost as I barely able to keep up.  That place made me dizzy with all the spiral staircases – reminiscent of Shadowfang Keep 😀

Next I scored Neltharion’s Lair (which was a quest dungeon). Stupidly I used slowfall to get to the secret chest after the snake boss and then proceeded to fall out off the ledge when trying to turn around. Fail. Hardest fail ever.  That was after almost dying to the cliff boss on the first jump…yup, I almost died before even getting to the boss.

After that super speedy run with AOE tanking and just constant pulling, my next run was Maw of Souls (another quest in here).  I really like this dungeon. I don’t yet really understand all the fights (I need to do more reading) but I adore the mythology behind it all.   Almost nearly died to the purple on he ground with the last boss as I didn’t realise she faced a direction…corrected that on the next lot, which I was alive for thanks to the brilliant healer not letting me die.

I also ran a Halls of Valour which was horrific – it was the only run we had a wipe because the 2 tanks who couldn’t decide who was main decided to pull almost the entire room of Vikings in the longroom.  I couldn’t have face-palmed any harder for the risk giving myself a black eye. Fenrir also was to the left as you enter his realm which I had never seen before and so they were running all over the map looking for him whilst me and the healer followed the foot steps and kept telling them to come back.

Overall LFD was as expected, super quick, no waiting around and just getting it done. No time to ask questions just kill anything that spawns and stay out of the crap on the ground.  Only 1 bad group out of 4 is pretty good and I am not going to complain about that.  I don’t believe I got any gear out f those runs either which were of any use, I did hand over a shoulder piece to a mage, but I think that may have been the only one I actually got.

Feels good to do some baby level raiding again

I ran some LFR recently when I was home bored and discovered it was not as bad as I was thinking it was going to be.   I got pulled into the last boss of one which was disappointing – Elerethe Renferal was the boss I believe.

Since that was over so fast, I decided to queue up for some more and ended up almost immediately in another one.  As you can see I got to kill a few more bosses.

I forgot to take pictures of the entire thing except for this one when I realised I would want to blog about this later (and because of the achievement).

I did not get one piece of loot from all the boss kills 🙁  I can’t even tell you much about the fights etc as I was so focused on just staying out of the crap on the ground or whatever was causing me to lose health.  LFR groups seem to run super fast so you barely have time to do anything other than just run for dear life.

Cenarius was devastating, not as devastating as Ysera, but still heartbreaking for my druid heart.  I did sign up for another LFR which ported me into a massive room with Odyn but there was nowhere for me to go.  I couldn’t figure out how to get to the rest of the raid group and before I managed to type for help they pulled the next boss, so I ported out and gave up for the night.

I might try and jump into some next week again, I did enjoy being in a group with so many people again and killing big baddies. I confess to feeling a little guilty because I don’t have flasks yet so am using old ones.  (I don’t like the new profession gating!!)

Getting mounted….on the wall?

I have been uploading pictures to my blog site, and then thinking I had written the corresponding post. Clearly I am a doofus!

I was one of the people going nuts about this ghost moose mount!  Yup, I did it. I managed to convince Lominari the mount was awesome as well and we spent quite a few hours clearing mobs to get the items.

We both avoided archaeology in game because it was so horrific to do, but they seem to have made the most awesome change with the little shovel above your head when you get close to the site.  That alone made it so much more bearable.

I think in total it took us about 3 hours, possibly 4, to get all the fragments, but we both spent a lot of time clearing mobs out initially. As the afternoon started to end there were a huge number of players online and it made the mob issue non existant.

Here we both are with them little guys rearing up; very hard to tell on this image though 🙂

I never though archaeology would be the profession I levelled first in game, but then…you just never know.  When you have a mount you are chasing I guess it makes all the difference.

I also managed to get 3 different pristine artifacts to place on the wall in Dalaran; given I think I only managed three for the entire time i played Draenor I am pretty happy with that, statistically speaking 😀  A drum, a hook and some other weird thing, I can’t remember the name of now.

Real Neat :D

I was nominated by Cymre for a Real Neat Blog Award.

This award is actually really appreciated as I have only just come back to blogging after anther hiatus and it is nice to know that someone is reading my blog again.  I have missed the friends I made blogging and I hope to be able to find some new ones.  Thanks so much Cymre for thinking of me!
Here are the rules:

  • Thank and link the person who nominated you.
  • Answer the seven questions your nominator has provided.
  • Nominate 7 other bloggers and create 7 questions for them.

And the questions I have to answer:

  1. How would you pass the time during a blackout?

During a blackout I would probably start using every piece of technology I have to keep functioning online. I would plug my phone/ipad into my macbook to suck as much power as I could from it and I would likely read one of the many ebooks I keep saying I am going to eventually get to.  Depending on the time of day I would likely do some gardening if there was light because no way I am gardening in the dark with spiders etc.

2.  If you could be any superhero for a day, who would you be and why?

Hmm always a tough one but I would have to go with Scarlet Witch.  I mean she was a witch. She uses hexes and magic.  That is me.  I just don’t get to have red swirly magic shooting form my fingers.

3. What is one thing you love collecting or loved collecting as a child/adult?

I wanted to collect the entire car bear collection when I was a child. I still have 1 of the three I had.  My little sister stole my other two and to this day no one will admit it happened.  I did sort of grow out of it, but I can promise even as a teenagers (and they were not made) I would look up places and see if I could justify buying them.  I still wonder now if it is too late to start collecting.  I loved the idea that there was a bear for everything you ever felt.4. If you could go anywhere in the world, where would you go?

Anywhere – would be Scotland. It is one of those places on my travel plans but I have other places I am going first. I love a lot of things from Scotland and I can’t wait to experience it.  I married a Scottish guy, I love the accent, I adore bagpipes and kilts, I will one day find the Loss ness monster and I would really enjoy learning how to make proper haggis.

5. If you could only take one item to a deserted island, what would it be?

Since I am unlikely to pass off my husband as an item (and he would be my first choice of person) I would probably take a book that I could read repeatedly.  This is such a hard question, i mean why would i voluntarily go, is it permanent, is it tropical or rocky? hahaha

6. Who is your main and who do you love playing her/him?

My main is my mage, has always been and will always be.  I love playing a magic user, I like  throwing fireballs around.  I feel guilty if I am not playing her and even guiltier if I get achievements on alts instead of her.

7. Favourite phone app?

I would have to say Instagram or Imgur are on equal par.  I spend most of my spare time scrolling through both apps favouriting images.  I love photography and memes so the two of those apps basically cover everything I love in the world.

Given I am only recently back to blogging I haven’t really got that many blogs on my feed that are not already nominated for this award.  So if you happen to read this post and you haven’t been nominated please consider this my nomination of you.  Just answer the following 7 questions and link back to me so I can start reading your blog.

Questions:

  1. What is the most embarrassing in game thing to have happened to you?
  2. What is your favourite TV show and why?
  3. When you were younger what profession dd you want to me that would never have been possible?
  4. When you are reincarnated as an animal in your next life which one will you be and why?
  5. What is a topic you want to know more about but are too scared to find out about?
  6. The best meal you have ever eaten?
  7. Favourite sports team?

An achievement which has taken 3 years to get done….

You know when you get so wrapped up in life you sort of forget what season we are in, but then because of that you also forget that the season we are in is not the season USA is in?

Every “Winter” I would either forget about or not be subscribed so I could not catch this goddamn annoying pet.  I was fluffing about on my mage when I realised I should get this
Snowy Owl pet now before I forget again!!

I ran off to Winterspring to capture one. Remarkably easy.  Since I was in the area I decided to just go past Felwood and see what my chances were of catching the last elusive pet I needed for the achievement.

I didn’t see anything except rats, so in my frustration I started killing them.  To my surprise I moused over another green paw print on my map and my mind couldn’t understand what I was seeing .

The Minfernal was just over the hill.  I ran over  to it, checked my pets were alive and the right levels and then wouldn’t you know it.  The battlefield was obstructed.  OBSTRUCTED!!  I have not been waiting 3 years randomly camping the spot to have it obstructed.

I kept clicking on him like a crazed person! I was about to go crazy, and then it finally worked.  I was feeling particularly stressed about the situation because what if I killed the thing!

No need to stress.  Look at that!  I am a Zookeeper!!  I am so happy to have this one finally completed.  I am now halfway through the Broken Isles collecting achievement; I am having a tiny issue if managing to kill every Slithering Brownscale I come across instead of capturing them.

I am so happy!!

Paladin time!!

Finally decided to get my paladin a few levels..so far she has like…1/12th of a level so that counts right? hehehe

She is Retribution and the spec has changed so much i was completely befuddled.  I spent a few minutes working out what was new/changed and then managed to do a gobsmacking 10k DPS 🙂  I felt pretty awesome…..<facepalm>.

I cleared out all of her quests and off i headed.  I picked up this spiky little piece of merchandise item – I love some of the artefact appearances…can we just talk about the flame version (drool).

Sadly I was attacked by a demon monster from hell after picking up this and he was so rude and threatening. I mean is there is any need for the threats against everything I have ever loved. Piece by piece!

Can I just say the class hall for Paladins is stunning. It is gorgeous, in a completely different way to the druid hall but just stunning with the lighting and the high ceilings.  I didn’t get to spend much more time in there after completing the initial quest line, but I can’t wait to go back and have a walk around.

Just look at this gorgeous image.

I am off to Azsuna now!

Mage: Class Campaign complete

Well Stage 1 is complete.  So far behind the 8-ball with my characters because of my lack of free time.

I am pretty excited I did this on my mage first.

I feel pretty important now that I can use Archmage as my title, I hope the other billion mages learn to fear and respect me now.  Archmage and all!

Damn straight! I am a little let down that my class gear is not as good as anything else I am picking up, but I am guessing that is because I didn’t do this in the same time frames as everyone else.  Had I done it on time it may have been good.

I also got a new artifact look – sunreaver style.  I adore this.  I really like it in the blue so I may have to unlock that and come up with a new transmog that suits a blue style.  If only I could have blue fire like warlocks have green.  I would be epic.

How sexy is that?!!?  Look at that blade.  It even looks like it is Forged in battle. I am super happy with the new look, I just wish I could unlock something awesome looking for my offhand which looks really sub-par for a phoenix heart.  I have to investigate the many offhand items out there and see if anything would make me happy.

Onto my other toons now, Demonhunter and Druid to complete their class quests.  I am also starting to level my Paladin in the Frostwolves because I really do miss them.

Free time again!!

So as most of my usual readers/friends know I do martial arts 3 nights a week (Tues/Wed/Thurs) and I am also studying for a bachelor online.  The last trimester of uni (which finishes this week) I decided to do 2 modules as I would in theory have 3 extra nights to study because martial arts were on extended holidays of Christmas. I was wrong.  The workload was way more than I anticipated.

I basically had no time for anything other than work, study and sleep.   I won’t likely do that again any time soon if I ever want to have free time to play WoW.

So a group of us have decided to do some regular dungeons runs on weekends which again, we haven’t managed to do with my schedule.  Finally this weekend just past we managed to get online for a couple of hours.

We did our first Mythic run “Halls of Valour” with Blikolorie tanking, Nibblepie healing, me and Lominari DPSing and we grabbed some random 5th person.  I might point out, neither Lominari or myself were really geared enough to be in there.  I think Lominari had a gear score of 816 or something and I was only 831.

The last boss was a little…difficult.  We had to do it about 8 times – if not more – and the random pug was really nice about the entire thing.  In the end…we got it done!

We decided to do some more work quests and chase some gear on the map, but headed to the epic world boss quickly first which scored some more gear upgrades for Lominari.  We did a whole bunch of quests and handed in 2 different emissary hand ins.

Do I look like I have a legendary yet? Do you see one on me anywhere? Can you see orange somewhere?

By the time we finished all the quests etc I managed to be on 838 for my ilevel and Lominari is now much more improved at 830.

We could even do some LFR which I am thinking i might do this week just to see what the new raids are like. Only the early raids at this stage but I am looking forward to – and also getting through some more of the Suramar quest line.  We are so far behind on the questing/class halls it is pretty daunting.
